Chapter 430: Chapter 430 - Counterattack(Part 15)

"Come on, get up. I’m not done yet," I remarked as I cornered a Vampires, before firing out piercing bursts of Mana at a couple of Lesser Vampires that sprang up behind me, killing them before they could reach me.
"Y-you damned human...I-I was born of the blood of Lord Dracula himself, I will not-...!" He began, before his body suddenly shuddered violently.
His eyes rolled back before he went limp and slumped, as he fell over and hit the ground with a thud.
Huh? What just-...?
Oh, I see, Dracula must have been killed...looks like all the Elder Vampires are dead. No, wait...I can still see a couple of Vampires flying around, that means at least one of the Elder Vampires is still alive.
This one said that he was created by Dracula, which almost certainly means that Dracula is dead now...so then, which of the Elder Vampires survived?
Well, whatever...I’m sure the others will take care of it, I’ll just focus on killing the Lesser Vampires and the few remaining Vampires, at least until I’m satisfied.
I then flew up and unleashed a devastating barrage of Mana arrows, which rained down and burst through the bodies of several Lesser Vampires, before I swooped down towards a Vampire, who turned her attention to me and fired out a slashing wave of blood towards me.
I swiftly countered with a Mana slash, a burst of red mist erupting upon impact as my attack vaporized the blood, before I fired off a blast of Mana behind me to put on a burst of speed, forming a Mana blade from one of my Amplifiers and whipping it across as I closed in.
The Vampire quickly sprang off to her left in alarm, crying out in pain as I sliced through her right shoulder and severed her arm, blood gushing out.
"Tell me...which Elder Vampire created you?" I inquired icily.
"Y-you bastard-...arghhhh!" She began, before screaming sharply as I fired out a rapid beam of Mana, hitting her stomach and drilling through before bursting out her lower back, blood gushing out and splattering across the ground as she stumbled back shakily.
"Last chance. Answer me."
"I-I was created by Lady Caera, I-...," She began shakily, before I cut her off with a blast of Mana to the face, several teeth flying out with sprays of blood.
"I see, so that’s the one who’s still alive. Hm...maybe she managed to escape?" I mused, before I shot forward and slashed at her knees, severing her legs.
She hit the ground with a thud, a look of fear on her face as I loomed over her.
"I-I answered you’re question, wh-why-...?"
"Hm? You realize that I never said I’d spare you, don’t you?" I responded, before firing an amplified blast of Mana at her chest, which burst through and shattered her core.
I then spun around as several Lesser Vampires came charging in towards me, flying up as I channeled Mana into my Amplifiers.
As the Lesser Vampires chased after me, I took aim and fired my Amplifiers, a pair of massive, powerful beams of Mana erupting out and barreling down towards them.
They began to try and scatter, but they were too slow, my beams engulfing them and wiping them out before they could get out of the way.
Tch...I’m not getting any satisfaction from killing these mindless, feral creatures. With all but one of the Elder Vampires and the majority of the Vampires now dead, there’s no one to command the Lesser Vampires.
As a result, their attacks are a lot more simple and easy to read than before. They’re completely disorganized, and it looks like a lot of them are starting to flee the battle on instinct.
Killing that Vampire made me feel a little better, but I’m still far from satisfied...this is starting to get really boring.
I let out a sigh before flying up higher and zipping around while firing down a relentless volley of Mana projectiles at the Lesser Vampires scattered across the area, taking care to make sure I didn’t hit any of my allies.
I then rapidly swooped down as I spotted another Vampire, fighting a couple of Knights from one of the other nations, starting to overwhelm them.
I formed a large, wide Mana blade as I closed in on the Vampire from behind, before swinging it down at full force, hitting the top of his head and slicing right though, splitting him in half along with his core before he even noticed me.
"W-wow, uh, thank you," One of the Knights sighed gratefully.
"Sure, don’t mention it," I nodded, before flying back up and continuing to wipe out the Lesser Vampires.
With their numbers so significantly reduced, they’re completely scattered now, this battle is all but over at this point.
I then got back to gunning down the Lesser Vampires, keeping an eye out for any Vampires but I couldn’t spot any, seems they’ve all been killed.
And with how much the numbers of the Lesser Vampires have been cut down, I think there’s few enough of them that the others can handle it.
I think I’ll just head back down and kill off any that cross my path, instead of going out of my way like this. At this point, I have no reason to expend any serious effort.
I then flew back down and landed on the ground, shooting a couple of Lesser Vampires that were in my vicinity, but there weren’t many around.
"Hm? That you, Ilex?" Suddenly came Gior’s voice, as I spotted him jogging over, looking a bit worn out, but otherwise fine.
"Glad to see you’re alright, looks like things went well out here," I greeted him.
"Yeah, I suppose so, we didn’t see that many Vampires, it was mainly Lesser Vampires, so it wasn’t too tough. And the fact that you’re out here must mean that the Elder Vampires are no more, right?" He responded hopefully.
"Well, if nothing else, I can confirm that Jagger and Dracula are dead. It seems like Caera might have survived, though. Not too sure about the rest."
"Hm, I see...well, if Dracula’s dead, then I’d say we don’t have much to worry about anymore. Alright, then, let’s keep at it until the enemy is completely wiped out!"
"Yeah, I suppose we should."
