Chapter 424: Chapter 424 - Counterattack(Part 9)
"Take this!" I exclaimed as I unleashed a roaring wave of blue flames towards Dracula from his left, while Satan unleashed a drilling beam of Obliteration at him from behind and Aereeze fired down a crushing blast of wind from above.
Dracula swiftly chanted and teleported several meters away, a fierce eruption bursting out as our attacks collided against each other, before I swallowed up the flames with Magic Eater as Satan unleashed a barrage of rapid Obliteration arrows at Dracula, who zipped away to evade them.
Aereeze swung her arms across to fire out a pair of slashing waves of wind towards him, before he chanted to put up a barrier wall in front of himself, blocking her attack.
"Now, Lightning Eruption," Chanted Dracula, before several intense, crackling streaks of dancing lightning erupted around him, painting scorched trails across the floor as they spread out with immense force.
As one of the streaks closed in on me, I used Magic Eater to absorb it, sparks crackling across the air in front of me as I swallowed it up...hm, I can use this to improve the intensity of my Elemental Lightning Spells. Not that that’ll be enough to defeat him...
Satan then formed a wall of Obliteration energy in front of himself to block the lightning streaks barreling towards him, as Aereeze quickly swooped down and landed behind him.
Suddenly, Dracula teleported behind the two of them, before rapidly chanting and unleashing a scorching shockwave of Dragon Fire, searing them and sending them flying back.
I turned my right arm into acidic slime and extended it out towards him while expanding immensely as I shot towards Aereeze as fast as I could, while Satan hurriedly hacked off the burning chunks of his flesh before the flames could spread.
As I caught up to Aereeze, I engulfed her with Magic Eater to swallow up the flames, before catching her and healing her as fast as I could, making sure to stay alert for Dracula to teleport near us.
"Damn it...it’s becoming painfully clear that I’m a liability in this battle," Remarked Aereeze with a grimace, as Satan fired off a volley of Obliteration blasts at the Vampire King.
"I hate to say it, but...yeah. He’s got such a wide arsenal of attacks that it’s pretty much impossible to avoid getting hit entirely, and since he can use Dragon Fire, you’re screwed if you can’t regenerate," I replied as I finished healing her, extending out several acidic tendrils of slime around us.
"I suppose I have no choice but to swallow my pride and withdraw from this fight. It’s a good thing that he isn’t just unleashing Dragon Fire ceaselessly, we’d all be dead already if that were the case," She responded, before reluctantly turning around and flying away.
Hm? Wait, that’s it...
"Your struggle is futile. Why not simply surrender and accept your inevitable defeat?" Scoffed Dracula, as he blew Satan away with a powerful shockwave.
"I don’t think it’s nearly as futile as you’re implying, Vlad," I spoke up tauntingly.
Well, that was a stupid reference, no one in this world would-...
"What...how? How the hell do you know that name!?" He snapped as his eyes widened in shock.
Huh. What do you know, looks like there’s something there, after all. Well, whatever, I don’t really care about his lore or backstory.
"Eh, disregard that. Back to what I was saying...our efforts aren’t futile, there’s no denying that your Absolute Command is powerful, but it has limits," I replied with a smirk.
"I don’t know what you’re talking about, and I cannot simply disregard what you just-..."
"No, seriously, the name thing really isn’t important. Let’s stick to the main point here...honestly, I’m disappointed in myself that I didn’t figure it out already. Your Absolute Command is a step short of being omnipotent...it gives you a seemingly endless arsenal, sure, but there are limits to what it can do. Otherwise, you could use a command on yourself to make yourself, say, a million times stronger and faster, but obviously, you haven’t done that.
Not to mention, if you just spammed Dragon Fire endlessly, you’d win this fight easily...but despite how powerful Dragon Fire is, you use it pretty sparingly. And it’s obvious why when you think about it...it comes down to your energy. Some commands require more energy than others, perhaps more energy that you’ve got. So, to keep yourself from draining your energy reserves with just a few commands, you restrain your commands in order to conserve your energy. Am I wrong?" I surmised as I narrowed my eyes at him.
"...very clever, human. Yes, you are indeed correct...but it will do you no good. My energy reserves are far more vast than any of the other Elder Vampires, you are certain to run out of Mana well before I use up my energy reserves. But I suppose this is starting to drag on, so I should speed things up a bit...my Absolute Command may have limits, but I think you’ll soon come to realize that those limits have quite the high ceiling. Now...Blood Clones," He chanted, before four clones manifested around him.
"No...you can use the Unique Abilities of the other Elder Vampires?" Remarked Satan as his eyes widened in alarm.
"Indeed, I can...unfortunately, replicating their Unique Abilities at their fullest would take a lot of energy, so I use somewhat limited versions of those abilities."
Maybe so, but this is still really fucking bad...even if he only uses weaker versions of the other Elder Vampires’ Unique Abilities, he can more than make up for it with the vast arsenal his Absolute Command gives him. I might’ve made a mistake in trying to provoke him...
