Chapter 95: Curiosity Killed The Cat But I have A Dog!
"What did you just say, kid?"
Before Caelum could even react properly, David Nun suddenly appeared directly beside him and gently patted his head like he was some well-behaved child.
The problem was that, although Caelum had only muttered those words quietly to himself, her absurdly sharp senses had caught every single detail and every single word perfectly.
"Uh..."
Caelum instantly felt a terrifying pressure descend upon him.
Even breathing became difficult.
’What the hell?! Why is this nun so powerful?!’ His instincts screamed danger.
Still, Caelum externally appeared calm before smoothly answering.
"Beautiful Big Sister, I simply received an inspiration for a proverb."
The pressure around him eased slightly afterward.
David Nun narrowed her eyes suspiciously while staring directly in his eyes.
"Really?" she asked with a smile.
"Because I’m pretty sure I heard something completely different."
"No, no, no," Caelum denied instantly while dragging Paul forward like a human shield.
"It’s just that my friend here is named David and he has a cat at home."
"???"
David (Paul) looked utterly confused.
Caelum, continued speaking confidently.
"I simply remembered a saying, ’Curiosity killed the cat,’ but it cannot kill my pet because I have a dog! Haha..."
He laughed awkwardly.
"..."
The atmosphere became silent afterward.
David Nun stared at him expressionlessly.
The joke was terrible, absolutely terrible.
Then her gaze slowly shifted toward the "dog" sitting on Caelum’s shoulder.
Unfortunately, Voomie barely resembled a proper dog anymore.
At this point, she looked more like a suspiciously fluffy meatball with legs.
Without hesitation, Caelum immediately sacrificed Voomie.
He grabbed her by the back and aggressively rubbed her stomach.
Her fat and fur jiggled violently.
"Not in front of the gang, owner?!" Voomie barked while sticking out her tongue.
The strange sensation across her body made her squirm shamelessly.
"See?" Caelum declared afterward while placing her back onto his shoulder.
Voomie instantly regained a dignified expression afterward as if nothing had happened moments earlier.
"..."
A strange silence again filled the surroundings.
Eventually, David Nun grabbed Caelum by the shoulder firmly.
"You’re a smart child," she muttered meaningfully.
"Although I do appreciate your praise... you understand what you’re supposed to do from now on, correct?"
"Obviously," Caelum replied sincerely without hesitation.
"How could I possibly fail to recognize the most beautiful nun in the entire school?"
David Nun’s expression visibly relaxed afterward.
Meanwhile, Ryan slowly leaned toward the others and whispered.
"...Did Caelum’s eyesight become weak? He’s seriously pretending that he didn’t see the other nun standing there."
The moment those words escaped his mouth.
Ryan received several terrifying looks from the group.
Especially from the girls, the disdain in their eyes was particularly intense.
David Nun took a deep breath.
’They’re still just eggs... calm down, you cannot crack them yet.’
Finally, she exhaled loudly before turning around.
"The others have already gone ahead. Now then, let’s properly begin your tour."
Then she turned back once more with a dangerous smile.
"Oh, and one more thing, if any of you become noisy... I’ll personally throw you onto the rooftops."
The other students felt at a loss, they absolutely did nothing here.

After walking for some time through the Holy Grounds, their group eventually entered the small representation of the Church of the Sun within the academy.
Compared to several other religious sections nearby, the church itself appeared surprisingly simple.
A few students from other groups were already present inside while speaking with an old man dressed in the white ceremonial robes of a Sun Priest.
At the center of the church stood the symbol of the Sun God.
A blazing sun surrounded by divine flames.
Interestingly, there was no actual depiction of the Sun God himself anywhere within the church.
Rather than worshipping the image of a man, followers of the Sun Church revered the symbol of the Sun itself.
"So, as all of you can see, this is the sacred symbol of the Sun God Soltharion." David Nun began while crossing her arms, but there was no effect due to flat surface (?).
Then she pointed toward the blazing emblem.
"And naturally, the current month was also named after him."
The students curiously observed their surroundings afterward.
Some among them had visited this place before, while others were seeing it for the very first time.
Unlike many extravagant religions, the Church of the Sun possessed very little decoration.
Most of the walls remained plain white while countless sun symbols were engraved throughout the structure.
"The religion of the Sun God is considered one of the most flexible faiths in the world," David Nun continued.
"There are comparatively fewer restrictions placed upon its followers. However the Sun does not favor those who possess evil tendencies."
After explaining that, she gestured toward the elderly priest approaching them slowly.
"This is Father Aldric," she introduced.
"A retired Grand Paladin of the Sun Church, feel free to ask him whatever questions you have."
Soon, the old man arrived before the students.
Despite appearing extremely old and thin enough to seemingly collapse from a strong gust of wind.
His eyes still radiated tremendous vigor.
"Hoho..."
Father Aldric laughed warmly while looking at the gathered students.
"So these are the new seeds destined to one day grow into towering trees, I can already see a few particularly exceptional ones among you."
His tone remained gentle and friendly, making the atmosphere more relaxed.
A student from the back raised a hand.
"Father Aldric, why does the Sun Church not use a human form to represent the Sun God?" the child asked curiously.
Caelum also became slightly interested hearing this question.
Most religions he had read about usually worshipped humanoid depictions of their gods.
Father Aldric smiled lightly before answering.
"The mercy of the Sun shines equally upon all living beings," he explained.
"As long as one does not walk the path of evil, they may bask in His light."
The student blinked several times.
"Yes... but why isn’t his form human?"
Father Aldric’s brows twitched slightly.
It seemed, he would need to provide a much simpler explanation understandable to children.
