Chapter 93: Progress

1st Soltharion, 1353

"...and in this way, the energy core and the heart gradually establish a connection with one another. This process is especially important for those walking the path of a mage," Dorian explained calmly before pausing for a moment.

Dorian, Caelum’s class teacher who had now fully recovered from his injuries, taught the subject:[Mana Sensing and Magic Theory]

The classroom remained relatively quiet as students listened attentively.

"And all of you should remember that today marks the beginning of Soltharion." Dorian’s eyes swept across the classroom before suddenly stopping.

"Hmm... Caelum!"

"Yes, teacher!" Caelum immediately stood up with full attention.

Dorian narrowed his eyes slightly.

"What begins with Soltharion?" he asked.

"Summer season!" Caelum answered instantly with complete confidence.

The classroom became silent for a second.

Dorian gave him a long side glance.

He already knew the boy had been distracted moments earlier.

Unfortunately, Caelum also somehow always listened carefully enough to answer questions correctly.

As a result, Dorian found no legitimate reason to punish him.

Eventually, he simply gestured for Caelum to sit down before continuing the lecture.

"So, as all of you already know, summer has officially arrived." Dorian said doing the signature pose of clasping his hands behind his back.

Then his expression became more serious.

"And with that, your High Term begins as well."

This immediately caught everyone’s attention.

"During the Start Term, which covered your first three months, the school focused primarily on developing your theoretical foundation."

He slowly walked through the classroom while speaking.

"However, starting this month until Lunareth, the academy will place significantly greater emphasis on practical studies and application."

Then he looked toward the students seriously.

"So all of you should prepare yourselves properly."

"Yes, teacher!" the entire class answered simultaneously.

Dorian nodded with satisfaction afterward.

"And one more thing, do not forget that the fourth day of Soltharion will be a holiday."

Several students immediately looked excited.

"As the Annual Sun God Festival will take place." Dorian continued.

Then he looked around the room curiously.

"How many of you follow the Sun God?"

Immediately, numerous hands rose throughout the classroom.

The Church of the Sun remained one of the most influential religions throughout the world due to its enormous number of followers and widespread influence.

And not just that, there was a literal Empire dedicated to serving both Sun God and Moon Goddess, which operated separately from the Unified Holy Land.

"As all of you are currently students living within the academy, you naturally won’t be celebrating alongside your families this year."

He then added calmly.

"You may still pray with your fellow believers at school within the Holy Grounds."

Then suddenly, Dorian seemed to remember something.

"Oh right, today should also be your guided tour, correct?"

He checked something through his Teacher’s Badge while the students immediately began chatting excitedly among themselves.

A few moments later, he nodded.

"Right. It will take place in the afternoon."

Then he looked toward the class again.

"After this lecture is concluded, all of you should gather at that location, there will be a special guide assigned to the class."

Dorian paused briefly before continuing in a meaningful tone.

"Most of you may already know the names of famous gods and Goddess... but after today, you will learn considerably more about them and your perspective will widen."

And with those final words, Dorian officially ended the class.

"Hey little guy, want to test your powers against me again?" Bonjour teased while grinning toward Ryan.

"Kuh–!" Ryan immediately felt as though he had suffered physical damage from those words alone.

After awakening his Aura Seed through tremendous effort and finally becoming an Initiate, Ryan had immediately challenged Bonjour to a duel.

Unfortunately, although Ryan’s swordsmanship was genuinely impressive for his age, the barbarian’s physical strength was simply too overwhelming.

Still, Ryan remained determined.

One day, he would definitely suppress Bonjour completely.

"My child, you shall forever have my blessings." Skyler said solemnly from the side while placing a hand over his chest.

"How about you just give him more money instead? He would honestly appreciate that much more." Caelum interrupted immediately.

Skyler coughed awkwardly afterward while his saintly atmosphere slightly weakened.

Meanwhile, Sénior stretched lazily.

"These practical lessons sound way more interesting, and honestly, we barely entered dungeons during the last few months."

Then he snorted.

"And the ones we did enter weren’t even dangerous."

While speaking, Sénior heavily patted Paul’s back repeatedly, nearly shaking the poor boy apart.

"Paul, make me one of those glasses someday." Caelum called while looking toward him thoughtfully.

"You’re actually really talented, aren’t you?"

Paul coughed at that unexpected praise.

Over the past two months, everyone had gradually realized something surprising.

Paul, the quietest and most harmless-looking among them was secretly a hidden monster within the group.

The guy had already broken through into the Second Circle.

And before joining the academy, Paul had apparently already been a First Circle mage.

Although this revelation greatly shocked the others, Caelum himself was not particularly surprised.

After all, they were roommates.

He had plenty of time to observe Paul quietly.

As the group continued walking through the academy corridors, Caelum’s thoughts slowly drifted toward everything that had happened during the past two months.

Surprisingly, nothing truly insane had occurred.

At least by this his standards.

Their daily lives mostly consisted of studying, eating, training, playing games and occasionally entering dungeons.

Other than that, life had actually become relatively peaceful.

Caelum himself had also improved tremendously during this period.

He had also successfully become a Second Circle mage.

His cultivation had advanced further as well.

Additionally, his mastery over several techniques improved significantly, including the refinement of his [Natal Sword Seed].

His swordsmanship had also deepened greatly thanks to the enlightenment and inheritance left behind by Zusur, the Knight of Karthenheim.

Caelum genuinely appreciated the dead knight for that gift.

And then, there was Voomie.

Thinking about his troublesome dog immediately gave him a slight headache.

Which was precisely why the group was currently heading toward his dormitory room.

They needed to retrieve both Voomie and Jojo.

Normally, summoned creatures were not allowed inside ordinary classes unless specifically required for summoning-related lessons.

But today’s academy tour was considered a special exception.

As Caelum walked, his thoughts slowly shifted toward something else entirely.

The rewards from his first quest.

Even now, he still felt stunned every time he thought about that.

The amount was simply too ridiculous to the point where he genuinely did not know what he did to get that many points.

So, he had simply left the points untouched until now.

Quest

Description: You have been caught in a reverse summoning, but the destination changed midway? What terrible luck! Even dogs possess better fortune than you!

Survive the Forbidden Zone of Old Ice alongside Bonjour. After all, you have already read [Running Wild With Big Bear!], so this should not be impossible. Also, do take revenge (if possible) because you are a cultivator.

Rewards: 784,690 System Points.

Failure: Ordinarily death but fortunately your background is expressive so diarrhea.

——————

Including the previous four thousand points remaining in his balance, Caelum now possessed a total of 788,690 System Points.

The group finally arrived before the dormitory room as Caelum immediately opened the door.

"Voomie! Jojo! Come out!"
