Chapter 131: Jojo’s Money Quest

The next day dawned, and after finishing breakfast, the children headed toward their respective classes.

The atmosphere around the school was still great after the Annual Sun Festival.

After all, as the saying goes, celebrations retain their effect for at least three days!

Most students were energetic, discussing the festival while eagerly looking forward to another week of classes.

Well... almost everyone.

A certain regretful panda still couldn’t get over the fact that he never got the chance to gamble.

The same was true for the Foundation Year students.

Since it was now the High Term, they first attended their morning lecture before changing into their combat uniforms and gathering at the academy’s enormous open training grounds.

Today’s practical class was [Physical Training].

Standing before Class A-1 was a broad-shouldered instructor with an intimidating physique.

His arms were thicker than most of the students’ waists, and the countless scars covering them silently spoke of experience.

His name was Bromwen.

Without any unnecessary introductions, he folded his arms and shouted.

"ALL OF YOU! FIVE ROUNDS AROUND THE TRAINING GROUND!"

His booming voice echoed throughout the field.

The students immediately began jogging.

Most maintained a steady pace, conserving their stamina.

Two of them, however, had entirely different ideas.

Swish! Swish!

Before the rest of the class had even completed their first lap, Caelum and Bonjour had already finished all five and calmly returned to their original positions.

Sénior wasn’t far behind either, surprisingly completing three laps before slowing down.

The remaining students stared at the three in complete disbelief.

’Isn’t he supposed to be hiding his strength?’ Loreal wondered inwardly, while Anastasia merely snorted, looking as though she had expected nothing less for attention seekers.

Meanwhile, one rather chubby student sprinted with all his might hoping to secure first place and become the center of attention.

Unfortunately... Before he had even completed half a lap, his lungs burned fiercely, his breathing became ragged, and his face turned bright red.

By the time he looked up, everyone’s attention had already shifted elsewhere.

But still his spirit was commendable!

Instructor Bromwen silently watched Caelum and Bonjour with narrowed eyes.

After years of training children, he knew exactly what kind of students they were.

With a faint smirk, he reached into his storage pouch and casually tossed two dark iron bracelets toward them.

Each bracelet looked deceptively ordinary.

"Wear them."

Both boys obediently put them on.

The next instant, their energy flow stopped and the bracelets were also absurdly heavy giving them additional weight.

Bromwen smiled.

"Now... Fifty more laps."

The moment Sénior heard those words, he gained a tactical understanding as his own running speed mysteriously slowed, though he still looked like he was giving all his effort.

Caelum and Bonjour both had the corners of their mouths twitch.

Because, this was such blatant preferential treatment that they didn’t ask for!

Yet neither complained as they resumed running, their speed dropped considerably.

Every movement became heavier, and genuine physical exhaustion finally began creeping into their bodies.

Oddly enough, the sensation felt refreshing.

Neither of them had experienced proper physical fatigue for quite some time.

Meanwhile, far away from the training grounds, Jojo and Voomie wandered through the school grounds in search of something.

"Are you sure this is the right thing to do, woof?" Voomie asked curiously.

"I think it’s fine. We even have a maid watching the room now, and summons aren’t forbidden from roaming the academy." Jojo replied looking in a particular direction while patting the small pouch hanging from his waist.

Inside it was the spending money Paul had given him.

Following his gaze, Voomie spotted a massive chameleon rapidly changing colors while sprinting away from Erica and a blond-haired boy, frightening countless girls as it dashed across the pathways.

"Remember my words, Lady Voomie," Jojo said with a meaningful smile.

"Where there are restrictions there is always a black path!"

Voomie nodded as though she had received profound wisdom.

Soon, they arrived behind one of the academy buildings where two Senior Division students were casually chatting.

The secluded location immediately caught Jojo’s attention.

He approached them thinking of the noble excuse like discussing the beauty of sunrises and sunsets.

The two seniors paused after noticing a panda walking toward them.

It was still rather uncommon for summons and tamed beasts to wander around the academy on their own.

"Buddy, you’ve come to the wrong place," one of them kindly said while preparing to point Jojo toward the main road.

To his surprise the panda talked back.

"The wrong place? I see, then I apologize for disturbing you two seniors," Jojo replied politely before turning as if he were about to leave.

The two seniors blinked.

"Wait... aren’t you that famous talking panda and the talking dog duo!"

"I’ve heard quite a lot about you two."

"We’re that famous, woof?!" Voomie exclaimed happily, her tail wagging excitedly, but somehow her smile felt evil.

"Seniors could you help me with something?" Jojo said with an innocent smile.

Using his naturally adorable appearance and surprisingly smooth conversation skills, Jojo chatted with them for quite a while.

The conversation gradually drifted from school life, to rumors, to famous places within the Zenith Empire and finally, to exactly the information he wanted.

"So, what are the most dangerous places in the Senior Division?" Jojo asked.

One of the seniors looked around before patting Jojo’s shoulder.

"You should avoid these four places the most..."

Jojo listened attentively, committing every location to memory and a satisfied smile slowly spread across his face.

After sincerely thanking the two seniors, he and Voomie cheerfully walked away.

Watching the pair disappear into the distance, one senior sighed.

"The poor panda is clearly lost."

The other nodded sympathetically.

"Yeah."

"If I had a summon like that, I’d definitely join a circus."

"No joke bro! The money from those performances is not bad!"

The two continued chatting about random topics completely unaware that they had just unleashed an evil panda upon the School’s black economy.
