Chapter 229: Approach

"Hey. Is that..." Gin narrowed his eyes before looking away so the other party didn’t notice.

There was a young man with a dignified expression. He had long fancy clothes. His aura made one feel inferior as the man was also looking at them with contempt.

The young man was accompanied by two other men. From the look of it, they were his lackeys since they both respectfully addressed him as ’Young Master.’

According to Gin, the people on this continent loved to be called by their title. It was their pride, but Albert still felt weird when he heard it for the first time.

"Young Master Gu." One of the waiters immediately came to greet him, clasping her hands politely. Even her smile looked so sweet as if she was trying to seduce her.

"I need a table for three." Gu Fei stated with a cold tone and started walking, not caring about others who were still shocked.

Of course, others wanted to talk about him, since Gu Fei’s appearance alone could create numerous rumors. However, Gu Fei was known as a lecherous, cold, and ruthless person, so no one dared to speak a single word before Gu Fei left.

’Hehe.’ Gin was smiling inwardly when he saw this Gu Fei. He thought, ’If we’re talking about patterns, normally a person like Gu Fei will come to this table and ask Natasha to drink with him. But I’ve asked Natasha to cover her body and face, so he couldn’t notice with a single glance.

’I also pick this place because there are numerous empty seats, so there won’t be any situation where he comes here to find an empty seat. Gu Fei, Gu Fei... I’ve saved your life.’

Gin was smiling. Having an extensive knowledge about this world was truly a big help for him since he could avoid any of these situations.

Of course, Gin said he saved Gu Fei’s life because Albert was simply far too strong from him. Even if Gu Fei used all his potential, the best he could do was an Inner Disciple.

And if he followed the pattern, he should have an Elder Brother who was a Core Disciple and an uncle or father who was an Elder. But Albert’s potential was enough to get noticed by a powerful elder, so there was no need to be scared of Gu Fei.

Though, Gin also feared something. He looked at Albert and thought, ’Normally, the one who has the most potential won’t show it on the selection... I mean, they don’t have a good tool to measure their potential. If that happens, won’t it mean Teacher has zero potential later? No, I can’t think much about it. I also need to go to the Array Master Guild after this to get another identity to protect myself.’

Gin had prepared for everything, so when Gu Fei passed him, Gin immediately continued eating like nobody business.

However, everything changed when there was another group entering the establishment.

That person was only one person. He looked like a middle-aged man, but it was easy to know that he was already a few hundred years old as a cultivator.

Even Albert furrowed his eyebrows when that person entered this establishment.

Name: Li Mu

Level: 437

This was the strongest person he met after arriving on this continent. He never thought that someone this powerful would suddenly appear, considering it was rare to catch a sight of a powerful person on the previous continent.

Gin didn’t know the exact power, but his Bonk Eyes allowed him to see the energy coming out of that person’s body.

Suddenly, this Li Mu felt another power inside the establishment and turned his head around. And of course, the ones that caught his eyes were the frowning Albert and the curious Gin.

The Magic from the previous continent was certainly unique and godly, but the sensitivity of a cultivator couldn’t be underestimated. Each continent truly had a unique strength.

As soon as their eyes intertwined, a smile appeared on Li Mu’s face as he said to the receptionist. "It seems that my friend is here. I’m going to sit with them."

"!!!" Albert and Gin panicked as they could feel Li Mu’s intention. Even Natasha asked, confused. "Was that guy looking at us earlier?"

Her answer came in the form of action as Li Mu suddenly walked toward their table with a nonchalant face.

Without hesitation, Li Mu sat down next to Gin as he said with a smile. "Oh! It’s been a while. To think I can meet you all here. Are you here for the selection?"

Although Natasha had covered most of her face, her eyebrows still twitched, showing the answer. Meanwhile, Gin looked away, trying to escape.

Only Albert maintained his calm as he said, "I’m sorry, but I don’t know you. You should find a table for yourself... There are many empty seats over there."

"Come on. Don’t be that cold... Even though you’re using some weird technique to assess me." Li Mu smirked, not having a pretense anymore.

In that instant, Albert asked inwardly, ’Bonkey. Did he notice you?’

[No one can detect me. It must be Gin.]

Albert glanced at Gin for a second before shaking his head. "I’d apologize for my subordinate’s rudeness. However, my point still stands."

"Heh..." Li Mu smiled, amused by Albert’s reaction. He nonchalantly placed three rectangular wooden tokens on the table and said with a small voice so that only Albert’s table could hear. "With this, you don’t need to line up to register yourself. Everything can be handled later. If you’re not going to participate, then you can throw these tokens away."

After saying those words, Li Mu rose from the seat and walked toward another empty seat.

As soon as he left, Albert glanced at Gin. "You shouldn’t use that ability again to avoid unnecessary problems. That person is strong... Even stronger than Lilith and the others."

"..." Gin had no words to say as he understood perfectly. Even the salamander that was hiding in his clothes spoke. "I certainly felt it... If I fought that guy, he would have killed me in an instant."

Gin scratched the back of his head. "I don’t understand how he could have come here? It’s not supposed to be like this. As for his identity, he is most likely..."
