Chapter 211: Salamander
"Yours truly shall save the day." The salamander laughed out loud as he started advancing to the battlefield where the vampire king was.
The vampire king furrowed his eyebrows for the first time ever since he reached the battlefield. He had no idea who this salamander was, but the latter was clearly stronger than most people here.
In fact, the power that he used to destroy his Magic Circle was equal to Lvuska’s attack.
"Hmm?" The vampire king raised his right hand and formed another Magic Circle on the ground. This way, it would be hard for the salamander to find it.
The salamander didn’t know about it too since the Magic Circle was hidden underneath the corpses. However, he soon saw blood red light glowing underneath the corpses.
"9-Star Spell, Blood Devil."
Suddenly, a massive amount of blood rose to the sky as if it was absorbed by something. And the blood gradually formed a humanoid body.
Although it looked like a humanoid body, it had so many spikes on its body. At the same time, there was a pair of horns on top of his head, making him look like a demon.
"Your opponent is not me." The vampire king coldly said while pushing his hand to advance the blood giant.
"Hmph!" The salamander snorted and raised his hand. He would never think about this if he didn’t meet Albert and Gin. In fact, Gin was the one inspiring him to create more and more moves by taking advantages of his body’s heat and flame that could melt everything.
When the blood devil punched forward, the salamander did the same.
The blood devil covered its fist with the blood while the salamander did the same with his fire.
When their fists collided, the blood splashed and the fire burst, creating a massive shock wave that shook the battlefield to the point one could see the sky split into bright red and dark red for a split second.
However, the salamander smiled when he realized he couldn’t deal with the blood devil easily.
"I see. No wonder Gin wants me to think of another way of using my power. It’s truly useless." The salamander smirked, staring at the blood devil.
Suddenly, his fist opened up and caught the blood devil’s hand.
"..." The vampire king only looked at him coldly as he planned to finish him soon with another punch or the blood that was scattered on the ground.
But the salamander soon showed his worth.
The fire on his hand flared up and started eating the blood devil, evaporating the blood.
"What?!" Finally, the vampire king showed a shocked expression, staring in disbelief. He never thought that the salamander would be strong enough to evaporate the blood he controlled.
The fire became even bigger as though it was treating the blood like an oil until it enveloped the entire blood devil, evaporating it.
"Hahaha! This is my strength now!" The salamander smirked, satisfied with how he dealt with this power. If he utilized his strength this way back in the fight against Lilith, the fight would last longer.
But he thought he was grateful that Lilith gave him the taste of defeat for the first time. That defeat allowed him to meet Gin, who had so many ideas of how to use his power.
His concept was so unique that he couldn’t contain his curiosity.
The salamander said the words Gin always loved to say. "This is the power of anime, you idiot!"
"Boom!"
The fire engulfed the entire blood devil and took it down.
With a smile on his face, the salamander continued forward, planning to beat the vampire king.
However, the vampire king managed to maintain his calm as he waved his hand, using another spell.
Suddenly, the blood that was scattered on the ground rose and formed spikes, going toward the salamander’s direction.
The idea was to kill the salamander with all these spikes, but the latter simply walked forward without even caring of these needles.
"8-Star Spell, Blood Spikes!"
The spikes flew like that of a bullet, hitting the salamander’s skin.
The salamander’s hard skin stopped the spikes from piercing through and his flame evaporated the blood, rendering this skill useless.
"What’s more?" The salamander laughed and ran toward him with high speed.
Due to this power, even the vampire king needed to take him seriously. His gaze now focused on him as he wielded the blood with both hands.
The blood rose from the ground and turned into a giant net, falling down on top of the salamander.
The blood was supposed to be useless since it would evaporate again. Even the salamander said with his big mouth. "It’s useless. Unless you can withstand my heat, your power won’t affect me."
The salamander was so proud that he continued moving at that speed before he abruptly tripped due to the net.
"What?!" The salamander was confused and saw the net still sticking to him.
"You are too arrogant, lizard." The vampire king snorted as he raised both hands.
The blood net vanished into thin air, but because the salamander tripped, there was no need to restrain him anymore, allowing the vampire king to utilize another power.
The blood then formed into a huge blade, pointing at the salamander belly.
Even the salamander could feel the pressure emanating from it. Without a doubt, it would kill him if the sword managed to reach him.
So, the salamander pointed his flame toward the sword as the fire flared up, releasing a powerful blaze that soared to the sky.
It was so great that the intense heat affected the temperature on the entire battlefield.
Yet, the salamander could clearly see that the sword didn’t even melt. In other words, his flame couldn’t burn it. Instead, the burst of fire only pushed it back.
"What?! How can it not melt?" The salamander widened his eyes in shock. His flame could burn all the blood earlier, but why he couldn’t evaporate this one?
No one had that answer other than the salamander and the vampire king themselves.
After losing to Lilith, the salamander had been more careful than ever, so he immediately recalled what happened.
The vampire king turned to him and completely focused on him. He even used both hands to wield the blood.
"Wait a minute. Both hands!" The salamander widened his eyes as he finally understood the reason why he couldn’t burn the blood.
The vampire king’s left hand seemed to be able to control the blood to his bidding while his right hand seemed to be able to strengthen it. This way, the blood could actually withstand the heat as long as the vampire king had enough Magic Power to supply them.
Even Lilith couldn’t do something like this, considering she was relying on her sun fire to fight him.
But right now, not only he was pinned to the ground, but he also had a sword on top of him that could fall at any moment.
Even if he tried to roll on the ground, the sword would be fast enough to pierce him. So, the best thing to do was to maintain the power of the flame from his tail and waited for the help.
However, would that kind of help actually arrive on this battlefield? It was his idea to participate in this war since he was curious about the power of those who were stronger than him.
And now that he had met the vampire king, he realized that he shouldn’t have challenged him so rashly.
It turned out he was a clone that was drowned by his pride this whole time. No wonder Lilith didn’t buy any of his words about his strength and only believed the words about the previous era.
She completely looked at him like a kid who wanted to flaunt his power. He didn’t look like a real expert at all.
Upon that realization, the salamander’s expression turned grim. This was the first time in his life feeling so hopeless.
’Is this why those people in the past band together and fear me? It’s because they are scared of my overpowered strength that they need each other to survive... It seems I have been wrong this whole time. Will there actually be someone that wants to help me?’
A person’s image suddenly soon flashed in his mind. He never thought that the person he thought was none other than the one he hated the most after waking up in this era. It was the one that tricked him this whole time.
Yes, he was none other than Albert, the person that tricked him and sent him to suffer in that jail for three days.
Even so, his cry for desperate help still echoed on the battlefield. "Albert Gran! Help!"
As if responding to his call, a man’s voice soon echoed in their ears as the blood sword suddenly disappeared before his presence. "Well, Gin is really a bad influence for you. Don’t be too confident since you might embarrass yourself."
Even the vampire king felt pressure that launched him away. When he raised his vision, he saw Albert appearing on the battlefield with a smile on his face.
"I’m sure I am the one you’re searching for, Vampire King." Albert smirked, grabbing the king’s attention.
The vampire king gritted his teeth. This war was the result of his existence. If he didn’t teach Yale, no one would stop Renee from winning that sacred duel. If his reputation wasn’t that strong, the queen wouldn’t be forced to give the punishment.
He couldn’t help but explode in anger when he saw the man who became the cause of this war. "Albert Gran..."
