Chapter 1306: Unending Universe
Altrishia got back to her feet, wind brushing the dust off her unwounded body as she immediately noted something.
’The force was greater. He can control the force of the shockwaves.’
She leapt at Ferrid again, shooting into the air as a streak of black light, her fist slamming into the stack of nine barriers he had conjured and, to his surprise, shattering them in one go.
"!"
Ferrid hurriedly tilted his body to avoid a direct impact, but Altrishia’s fist still connected with and shattered the fate armour protecting his chest, knocking him slightly to the side.
The dragon flapped her wings and curved through the air, shooting back toward him, and Ferrid rose to meet her, his left fist blocking the left hook she sent straight toward his jaw.
He instantly countered with a right straight, but Altrishia flapped her wings and pulled away from him, her mouth opening to reveal a flash of black light.
She released a concentrated beam of flames, barely ten centimetres wide, its speed and force nothing like before as it tore through space and reached Ferrid in less than a second, leaving him with barely enough time to cross his arms in front of his chest.
’Pseudo-Authority of Fortification!’
Law energy poured into his arms as the impact knocked him down, his feet skidding across broken ground before he stabilised himself on a fractured slab of earth.
Above him, Altrishia had already returned to her full dragon form, energy boiling within her maw as she unleashed a proper Dragon Breath. The energy was still highly concentrated, a tightly focused stream of destructive force that shot straight toward Ferrid without deviation.
Ferrid pointed his hand toward the ground, and fate law energy condensed into large, elongated polygonal constructs that spread out across the space beneath him. Then he thrust his palm upward, and the massive polygons of fate law energy expanded in size to over a hundred metres, forming a towering barrier between him and Altrishia’s breath.
The fate law energy attempted to engulf the incoming beam, but Altrishia’s Dragon Breath exploded before it could be fully contained, the flame law energy erupting violently and filling the skies with thick clouds of smoke.
A trio of magic circles with five rings each appeared behind Altrishia, each one surrounding a rapidly forming six-ringed spell circle as she quickly muttered a short chant.
Ferrid waved his hand, blowing away the smoke with a shockwave, giant spears of fate law energy forming around him and aiming directly toward Altrishia’s magic circles.
But just before both sides could release their attacks, the space between them distorted, and a familiar figure appeared in the air.
"Oh? Am I interrupting something?" Rosaline said casually, her hands still in her trouser pockets.
"I’ll leave then."
She had already begun warping space and was about to teleport out, but Ferrid frowned behind his mask and shouted.
"Carry out your orders!"
Rosaline’s body froze at his words, her tongue clicking in annoyance at the sound of his voice.
Altrishia, ignoring this, unhesitatingly unleashed her magic, the six spell circles erupting with torrents of elemental energy that converged into a multicoloured blast of power threatening to engulf both Rosaline and Ferrid.
’Not sure I can portal this out. I’ll borrow your skill for a bit, Vee.’
Her right hand came out of her pocket, spatial and gravity law energy condensing rapidly as the space within her palm collapsed inward.
’Devouring Singularity.’
A small singularity formed in her palm, a dense point of collapse that instantly began dragging everything toward it with overwhelming gravitational force, including the incoming energy of Altrishia’s attack, drawing it in and devouring it completely.
The force ripped away layers of the barriers above the mausoleum below, pulled in several dragons and Demonic Hand members from the distance, and even Ferrid was nearly dragged off balance, forced to activate his own Pseudo-Authority to resist.
Seeing him resist the gravitational pull, Rosaline shook her head and closed her fist, cutting off the source of the singularity and causing it to dissipate in a small burst of energy.
All those being dragged by the immense force finally regained control of their bodies, and Rosaline, ignoring them, pointed toward Ferrid on the ground and spoke to Altrishia.
"Mind aiming a bit closer to him next time. I want to ’accidentally’ pull him into the singularity so he gets crushed by the extreme gravity."
Ferrid frowned at Rosaline’s blatant attempt to bypass the restriction of her Command Mark that stopped her from killing him ’on purpose’.
"Be serious and focus on your orders!"
"Is that an order?" Rosaline asked back, one eyebrow raised.
Ferrid didn’t respond, and seeing this, she shrugged.
"Thought so."
Her eyes shifted to Altrishia, who was now watching her warily.
’If it was just the First Finger, I wouldn’t have a problem, but this woman isn’t so simple...’
"Hi Altrishia," Rosaline said, waving lightly.
"Unfortunately, I’m under orders today, so I can’t play with you this time. And unlike Zaos, you’ve got a Pseudo-Authority of Space, so I can’t just forcibly displace you to another planetary space."
"?!"
Altrishia’s eyes widened at Rosaline’s words, and she immediately expanded her spatial perception, her expression turning grim as she realised she could no longer sense Zaos or Vulwin’s presence on the Beta Continent.
"Stop talking, Rosaline!" Ferrid shouted, irritated by her casually revealing information about the situation to Altrishia.
However, Rosaline only removed her glove, waving her hand in the air as she asked, "Is that an order?"
The glowing Command Mark on the back of her palm flashed, but Ferrid wasn’t about to fall for her bait.
’Tsk.’
Just as he clicked his tongue internally, the entire area was suddenly encircled by a ring of spatial law energy, and sensing this, Rosaline turned toward Altrishia, the source, waving her finger.
"Nuh-uh."
Her Ultimate Seed activated, generating spatial law energy that clashed with Altrishia’s, preventing the dragon from fully enclosing them within a boundary line.
"Really, Altrishia? You should know that wouldn’t work on me."
Rosaline spoke casually as she pushed back against Altrishia’s spatial law energy, grey and black light clashing violently as the surrounding space began to distort.
"Now, I can’t warp you to another planet, but I can do this."
Rosaline snapped her finger after speaking, and the ambient cosmic energy bent to her will, wrapping around her and Altrishia faster than the dragoness could even register what was happening.
In the blink of an eye, Altrishia found herself in space, darkness all around her, and the lights of distant stars twinkling in the distance.
[Bounded Field: Unending Universe.]
’Instant Bounded Field deployment?! How didn’t I notice her creating a boundary line?!’
Altrishia warily took distance from Rosaline while unleashing her spatial energy, but the grey-eyed woman didn’t move an inch, only returning her hand to her pocket in silence.
Almost immediately after, Altrishia’s Pseudo-Authority revealed something that made her gape in shock.
"No boundary line? You used space itself as a boundary!? That’s only possible with Domain Declarations!"
"Not exactly," Rosaline replied. "Just really difficult. But if you try, try, try hard enough, you’ll get there eventually."
She spoke as though what she had done, replicating a technique that only Deities should be capable of as a mortal, was something simple.
’Well, it’s what earned me my qualification to surpass mortality and attain Transcendence, so I guess it’s not so simple.’
Looking at the vast expanse of space around her, Rosaline muttered, "This is as close to a Domain Declaration as a Bounded Field can ever possibly get.
The only thing missing is a ’Domain’ to ’Declare’. I don’t have one of those, after all."
When she turned back to Altrishia, she saw the dragon had already activated all her Pseudo-Authorities, an enormous amount of law energy rolling off her body, and this sight, Rosaline shook her head.
"You’re not breaking out of here so easily."
Altrishia didn’t respond, only charging at her at full speed, and Rosaline, extending her left hand, grasped space itself and moulded it into the shape of a great sword she used to block Altrishia’s claw swipe.
’Ah, this is tedious,’ she thought.
Rosaline teleported and summoned another sword of solid space in her other hand, and as Altrishia turned to unleash a powerful breath, she calmly muttered,
"Where are you, Mr Evan? Better come back soon, or Ferrid would get his way."
Such leisurely thoughts occupied her mind as she casually swung her sword down, cleaving apart the breath of the strongest dragon on Aidos’ surface with ease.
