Chapter 924: Chapter 924: Myriad Heaven
Myriad Heaven.
This realm was as it should be and not as it should be at the same time. The sky was impossibly vast, stretching into the infinite canvas of shifting colors to the point that no enhanced eyes could decipher the end.
The ground, if it could even be called that, was also constantly shifting and changing shape. The skill would rise and fall in no particular rhythm.
Some chunks would literally fly off and hover in the sky before falling to the ground. Some of the shifts were so absurd that it was hard to explain.
It was as if everything was operating at an ever-random point of satisfaction. As long as change was repeatedly occurring, all was fine.
Even the soil, which would appear loose and damp at first glance showed that it was capable of different mystical forms.
Sometimes, the soil would fuse with the essence of the sky to form different objects that lasted for a few seconds, or a few hours before dissolving into the world and beginning another cycle of randomness.
Ships, houses, men, women, beasts of all sizes and shapes were being formed. Planets would form, continents would form.
Entire civilizations, with thinking and breathing people and their own history, would be formed in the very spur of the moment, only for it all to be crushed and dissolved the next minute.
Change was cruel.
*BOOM!*
*BOOM!*
Two booms destroyed the sad peace of this realm, attracting the attention of a singular being.
Up in the sky, a crack had formed, shaped like a nine-sided star and stuck there like a sore wound.
Out from this crack in the sky, two orbs of light shot down, arching through the sky and falling to the ground, leaving a fiery trail of gold and white behind them.
Within seconds, or perhaps, a full minute, the two orbs of light struck the ground.
They hit the ever-shifting ground hard, releasing a powerful explosion that shattered the surface, forming cracks and destroying layers of soil.
A double-layered mushroom cloud rose to the sky, a result of the two orbs hitting the ground close to each other with incredible force.
And then, something very surprising happened.
The realm paused, ceasing its state of everchange.
For hundreds of millions of years, this realm was constantly undergoing some kind of change, always calculated.
No change happened here without the approval of the master of this realm, yet, a new change that had not been expected had occurred.
Guests, visitors from the world outside that had never been forgotten.
All changes HAD to be paused.
Over at the crash site.
A deep and wide crater had formed with two glowing orbs at the center.
Each orb was about the width of a fully grown adult human man, each emitting a different color of light.
These orbs were not ordinary of course.
"Ugh!" A spark of golden lighting streaked from the surface of the golden orb, a new wave of power leaked from it, causing its surface to vibrate.
Memories flooded and the glassy surface began to darken.
Kael, the owner of this golden orb, shifted his consciousness within. His soul was the only thing that survived that collision with the heavenly entrance a few moments ago.
Instinctively, a massive gust of energy had formed around the soul of this clone; the same thing with Seth.
The goal was to get into Myriad Heaven, no matter the cost of entry. As long as they could protect their souls that were entering, all would be fair.
And that was what they both did. They abandoned everything else and redirected all the energy they had left to protecting their souls.
They used their bodies to bash into the entrance. That was how they got here.
Sparks of lightning formed around the surface of the golden orb, serving as the catalyst for the formation of new materials.
The orb began to shrink and change, getting darker and darker as it tapped into the energy reserves of the original body.
Thousands of chemical reactions began to happen at the same time as flesh, bones, and blood formed around the orb, coming together and stitching themselves up to form a four-legged massive beast.
When all was done and the sparks had died down, the fluffy dark gold mane and massive head of a terrifyingly calm lion rose to the sky.
Four pillar-like legs were set on the ground, claws sinking into the calm soil and a long tail swerving behind him.
Absolute immortal power brimmed in every muscle fiber of his being, he was baptized by the original body, his strength and energy revitalized to the peak and beyond.
The golden lion opened his eyes, revealing a set of dark gold beautiful jewel-like eyes.
Dampening the instinctive urge to roar and claim new territory, Kael looked around calmly and noticed the other white orb lying at the corner of the crater.
Just when he was wondering if something had gone wrong, the orb began to tremble, shaking and cracking as pieces of flesh and bones aligned to form the body of a human-sized black and white cat.
This was their true form, so it made sense that this was the default they would reform as, not their humanoid forms.
"We made it..." Seth said, standing tall and looking around while keeping a telepathic watch on Kael’s movement.
Now that they had made it into the Myriad Heaven, the plan was only half complete. Anything could happen and Kael could turn on his back suddenly.
One should never let their guards down around a lion, as even lions don’t let their guards down around themselves.
"Where is the ant?" Seth asked.
Kael looked up at the sky. Dust hovered above them.
With a single thought, he commanded and all the dust was blown away, exposing the fabulously frozen multi colored sky.
Kael ignored the fantastic sight and zeroed in on the crack they had created when coming in.
The crack was healing, meaning the rules in that area were permanently damaged.
"He’s going to come, definitely. We might as well continue our work..." Kael then shifted his gaze to the vast sky itself and wore a mischievous smile.
"Change, greetings."
