Chapter 138: 2.15 Paradise (8)
Sora took a deep breath. He watched all of the gods, goddesses and mortal souls stand around in a stupor. He weighed his options on how to absorb their power so their souls would shatter quickly and peacefully.
"Athena, what’s the best way to go about this? I’ve defeated plenty of enemies in battle, but this seems different. They’re completely defenseless and it feels like I’m murdering them." Sora said with a frown.
"Stop frowning. I formally sentenced them to death with witnesses." Athena said sternly. "You are not murdering them. Do your duty as a god and execute my orders. Brie, the same applies to you. Follow your orders as a goddess and execute these traitors and absorb their power."
"Understood your majesty. How do I absorb souls, though?" Brie asked politely.
"You must channel your magical energy and absorb their lifeforce into yours." Athena explained.
"Search for the lifeforces of the older, stronger gods first. They are easier to sense."
Sora used his dimensional void and equipped gauntlets on both of them.
"Xander, if you notice mama or dada changing color at any time, please stop us, ok buddy? I love you!"
"Sounds good. I love you both! You got this! Remember, they are evil traitors and you’re learning how to be gods!" Xander cheered.
Sora and Brie both used the gauntlets to squeeze the life out of each god, goddess and regular soul. The first few took longer than the others, but as they both got accustomed to the sensation, they absorbed souls rapidly.
Sora grabbed Demeter by the neck and released his illusion of tranquility from her.
"Who created those mutated abominations with the creepy eyes in the rupture portals?" Sora asked while he wrapped his arm just tight enough around her neck for her to breathe.
She laughed. "Like I’d tell a filthy hybrid."
"Eye of Lockheart: Demeter loves me and spills all her juicy secrets" Sora said with a smirk.
Brie heard and giggled. "Nice one Sora! This should be interesting!"
"Sora! It’s so great to see you. Did Master Hades offer you an eye transplant yet? I’ve heard they’re amazing and each set is unique!"
"No he hasn’t, has he offered one to you?"
"He did! I told him I’d obviously love to try out his newest creation. Our hidden ally already has them. He said it allows him to see what others cannot see. Oh! They also allow him to influence someone to do his bidding." Demeter said excitedly. "Did I tell you the best part? The person under his control can’t remember what they did while under his control or that they even saw him in the first place!"
"That’s amazing! What a great ability." Sora acted astonished.
"When are you getting yours and what do you want them to see?"
"Oh I want to be able to unlock the secrets hidden all over the world! Hades already showed us around the Underworld. That’s why it was so easy for us to plant those ruptures!"
Athena listened intently. ’What does she mean by unlocking secrets hidden all over the world? What is Hades up too?’
Brie was much quicker than Athena expected her to be. Brie was going person to person, grabbing them by the neck, draining them until their soul shattered. She felt an immense surge of power flow throughout her body as their black and golden dust floated slowly through the air.
"Hey Xander! Are your dada and I still gold?"
"Looking great Mama! You’re getting really powerful too!"
"Come over to Mama baby, I want to give you some of this power!" Brie said with a large smile.
Xander ran and jumped in her arms. "Athena’s blessing: power share" Brie said as she hugged him. She could feel power transferring to Xander and wasn’t sure when she should stop.
"Let go Brie, that’s plenty." Athena said politely. "Great job! Most people struggle with ther first time, but you did very well. How do you two feel?"
"Never better! I’m glad we all talked about this beforehand. This doesn’t feel like we’re murdering people, it feels like we’re putting people out of their misery," Brie said with a smile as she went and continued absorbing souls until they shattered.
Realizing he was behind, Sora looked Demeter in the eyes and said, "Can’t you just tell me what would happen if I got the eye transplanet beautiful?"
This caused Brie to laugh, which caused Demeter to hiss at her.
"I’m glad you laughed because that was really awkward to say to someone other than you. Not only that, her soul is hideous! I can feel the evil oozing out of her."
"Why are you so fascinated about these eyes? Is it because it took you so long to figure yours out?"
"I believe we need all the information about Hades, the masked god, Azazel, Helen and Eris that we can get, that’s why I’m pushing this so far. Why would Hades create an eye transplant, though? That seems highly dangerous and I’m surprised the masked god accepted them."
"Well, the more time you spend with Demeter, the more power I get so take your time babe!" Brie teased.
"You can have them all beautiful. You know I love you!"
"Aw, I love you too."
"Mama and dada can you please do the job and stop being mushy gushy with each other? It’s a little awkward for me." Xander laughed.
"Ok, ok, I’ll hurry up." Sora laughed as he finally absorbed the remaining power from Demeter and watched her soul shatter.
’Even Demeter is nothing in comparison to what I received from Tesarion on the day I almost lost myself to the darkness,’ Sora thought as he quickly began using both of his gauntlets to quickly drain the power of two souls until they shattered.
After about 30 minutes, the entire area was completely clear and Sora shared some of his power with Brie and Xander.
"Aw, thanks babe. You really shouldn’t have! We got plenty ourselves."
"Thanks dada! You and mama did great! Your bodies stayed dark gold the whole time. Not once did either of you ever turn to another color," Xander cheered as he received another boost in power from his Father.
"Ok, now that the traitors are removed from Paradise, what should we focus on next?" Sora asked Athena eagerly.
"Patience Sora. The three of you have so much more to learn. I am impressed with your progress, but I will continue to train Xander. The two of you should now focus on learning how to hear the prayers from mortals to me. They come in various forms, from the four Universes. Your house is located near your Universe, so if you stay in that area, you will be able to pick up on these frequencies." Athena explained. "Once you’re able to identify them, focus your energy, magic and mind on them and listen to the prayer. If you can help them directly, visit them in a dream. If it’s something you feel I should handle personally, inform me. Don’t be afraid to ask if you are not sure."
"Mama and Dada, maybe someone in our party will pray to you! That would be so cool to see someone in their dreams. I can do this one day right Nana Fena?"
"Yes Xander. It will happen sooner than you think. Remember, if someone prays directly to any one of you, you will hear it very clearly because you are in Paradise."
"Thank you, your Majesty. Will you be keeping Xander in your realm?"
"Xander, would you like to stay with your Nana for a few months in her realm? Your parents can visit when you ask!" Athena said while giving Xander a hug.
"Mama, dada! Is it ok if I stay with Nana Fena for a while? I’ll love you and miss you but you can visit!"
Brie rested her head on Sora’s shoulder and smiled.
"Yes you may. But you have to come give us hugs and kisses first!"
Xander ran and gave his mom and dad a giant hug. He kissed them on the cheek and opened a portal to Athena’s realm.
"I love you!"
