Chapter 106: Chapter 106: You Two Are So Fated
"Brother, what are you spacing out for? Hurry and bring Sister-in-law home! This is your first time back since you two got married!"
Lu Xinyue saw that Lu Cheng was still frozen in place, so she quickly went to hurry him along.
Lu Xinyue hadn’t seen Lu Cheng the last time he was back for half a day, so in her mind, that visit didn’t count.
"Let’s go home."
Urged on by his sister, Lu Cheng didn’t feel embarrassed at all. Instead, he openly took Shen Nian’s hand, and they walked toward the front door together.
Watching Lu Cheng and Shen Nian walk ahead of her hand in hand, Lu Xinyue suddenly felt like she was being bombarded by their public display of affection. ’What am I supposed to do about this?’
’But then again, wasn’t I worried that Sister-in-law wouldn’t treat my big brother well? Now that their relationship is so good, I should be happy!’
’That’s right, I should be happy! As long as my brother and sister-in-law have a good relationship, and as long as she treats him well, seeing a little PDA isn’t a big deal!’
’Besides, when it comes to PDA... once I’m grown up and have a man of my own, I can show off just the same!’

Blushing, Lu Xinyue peeked at Lu Cheng and Shen Nian. ’Thank goodness,’ she thought. They were walking ahead and hadn’t seen the look on her face.
Shen Nian and Lu Cheng’s sudden return had first startled Lu Xinyue, and upon their arrival home, it naturally startled Father and Mrs. Lu as well.
The shock was even greater because Shen Nian and Lu Cheng walked through the door hand in hand—a far more impactful sight than just seeing the two of them show up.
"Son, Xiao Nian, what brings you two back?"
Mrs. Lu, Sun Yufeng, had just been telling Father Lu, Lu Shaoping, how worried she was about Shen Nian going to find Lu Cheng by herself. Fortunately, she had later received word from Shen Nian that she’d arrived safely, which had put her mind at ease a little.
After all, if something had gone wrong, how could they possibly face their son, let alone the Shen family?
But even with Shen Nian’s safe arrival, Mrs. Lu couldn’t be completely at ease. B City was, after all, a completely unfamiliar place to her, and Lu Cheng had his duties and couldn’t look after her around the clock.
Who would have thought that today, just after Lu Shaoping got home, she would have barely uttered a few words of concern before seeing Shen Nian and Lu Cheng—the very two people on her mind—at their front door.
And what’s more, they walked in holding hands. It was clear at a glance that the young couple’s relationship was going well.
"Dad, Mom, Lu Cheng happened to get some leave, so we decided to come back."
In response to Father and Mrs. Lu’s question, Shen Nian repeated what she had told Lu Xinyue earlier.
"It’s good you’re back! It’s good you’re back!"
Sun Yufeng was delighted to hear Lu Cheng was on leave. At least this meant he wouldn’t be in a rush to leave again.
After nodding, Sun Yufeng’s gaze fell upon Lu Cheng and Shen Nian’s still-clasped hands, and her heart instantly filled with even more joy.
Sun Yufeng had been very satisfied with Shen Nian’s behavior lately, and she knew very well how deep her son’s feelings for Shen Nian ran.
The only problem was, she still couldn’t be entirely sure of Shen Nian’s feelings for Lu Cheng. After all, it was a fact that Shen Nian had once been reluctant to go through with the marriage.
But now, seeing the young couple looking so sweet together, hand in hand, Sun Yufeng could finally, truly, put her worries to rest.
’This is wonderful. My son and daughter-in-law have such a good relationship. It’s just wonderful! If this keeps up, maybe it won’t be long before I’m holding a grandson or granddaughter!’
