Chapter 95: Caught Red handed

When Meng Yunhan saw that her daughter was crying, she didn’t even see what her precious daughter was doing and turned to look at Han Ruochen as if she was determined to hold her accountable for bullying Han Ziyan.

"You darn girl. Why do you keep bullying your sister like this all the time? She is your younger sister, and you should be giving in to her all the time." Her dear daughter was such a pure-hearted child, she couldn’t allow the likes of Han Ruochen to bully her left and right, that too right under her nose.

"Ha!" Han Ruochen was not at all surprised by the fact that Meng Yunhan was once again blaming her. Even though she was used to her biased attitude, she still felt a bit annoyed and uncomfortable. It was always like this, every time something went wrong, no matter whether Han Ziyan did something wrong or not, the blame would still land on her head, which was just as hurtful as it was uncomfortable.

Han Ruochen walked toward Han Ziyan and took a look at the book that she was reading. Then, in a mocking voice, she said, "Ah, so you are reading a novel instead of cleaning your room, and I for a second thought that you were so engrossed in cleaning your room that you didn’t listen to the quarrel happening downstairs. But it seemed like you were busy with something else."

The novel that Han Ziyan was reading was not just any novel. This novel was written by Liang Ming. Even though Han Ruochen didn’t read these novels, she knew about Liang Ming because this woman had gained a lot of fame in her past life. And what was even more shocking was that even though these novels had some really shocking and scandalous scenes, they were still adapted into television series. It was because of this reason that Han Ruochen found out about Liang Ming.

After all, just like her mother, Han Ziyan’s daughter also liked watching those series. So, how could Han Ruochen not know what the woman was doing in her room when she didn’t come out, even when their parents were quarrelling so loudly? It was because she was reading this novel so engrossedly.

When Han Yichen heard that Han Ziyan was reading a novel, he couldn’t help but knit his brows. "You are reading novels? What kind of novels are you reading that you started to cry like this?"

It was only when Han Yichen snatched the novel from Han Ziyan’s hands that she realised that someone had entered her room.

Han Ziyan was rather shocked at first, and then she turned flustered when she saw the crowd that had gathered in her room. "Mom, why did you enter my room without knocking?"

"Is it Liang Ming?" Han Jianyou asked as he peeked inside the contents of the book just as Han Yichen slammed it shut. "I heard it from the girls of my class," he added hurriedly when he saw his father looking at him dangerously. "I have never read it. Not even once, I swear!"

"What kind of nonsense are you reading?" Han Yichen was so angry that he wanted to burn the book down. He just took a look at the page where Han Ziyan had stopped reading, and his face burned with embarrassment when he thought about the good things that she was reading. Mistresses and whatnot – he was so embarrassed just thinking about it, and this girl was actually reading it! Just what went on inside her head all day long.

Without giving Han Ziyan a chance to respond, he tore up the book. "You refused to let my children even eat, saying that we didn’t have enough money, and yet you had enough money to buy this nonsensical book for Ziyan? What are you even thinking? Do you even know what will happen if she continues reading these kinds of books, huh?"

Han Yichen looked at the book just now; with just one glance, he could tell that it belonged to Han Ziyan because it even had her name on it.

"I...I..." Meng Yunhan was speechless and dumbfounded. She knew how much Han Yichen wanted his children to be well behaved and with promising future. This was the first time she had seen Han Yichen lose his temper like this, which proved that this book was nothing good, or else he wouldn’t have torn the book up like that.

She turned to look at Han Ziyan before saying, "I didn’t...I really didn’t. I have never given her money to buy books like these." She had indeed never given any money to Han Ziyan to buy such immoral books, but at the same time, she had given her enough money to do whatever she wanted to do. Thus, she had no idea what Han Ziyan did with the money that she kept in her hands.

No matter how she tried to explain it, she couldn’t wash her hands of this matter!

Meng Yunhan felt really wronged. She had pulled all kinds of strings, all because she wanted to make sure that Han Ziyan would receive the best of everything; how could she even allow her to read such immoral books?

Meng Yunhan didn’t know what the book was about, but given her husband’s reaction, she knew that there was nothing good about the book at all.

Out of curiosity, Han Ruochen walked forward and picked up the book. She flipped to the end of the page and chuckled, "So this is where you started getting ideas for stealing the fiancé of your own sister? You have been reading this kind of book?"

She had been sisters with Han Ziyan for two lifetimes. She knew all of her big and small habits; thus, she knew that Han Ziyan was used to creating her own little imaginative narrations and writing them in the back of her books. Look at this; she had clearly written her feelings after winning Yang Jianming! And she sounded exactly like the mistresses in the paper.
