Chapter 239: Unexpected Auction (II)

"It’s not Han Ruochen who is the clown here; it’s all of us!" Brother Wang was so angry that fumes were about to come out of his ears. To think that a woman as young as Han Ruochen was able to play him like that. He then told everything to the men on the docks, and after listening to his explanation, most of them thought that what Brother Wang was saying indeed made sense.

What if Han Ruochen were hiding her wealth from them and was deliberately hiding it from them? After all, who would be foolish enough to tell their true wealth to outsiders? If Han Ruochen were using their arrogance against them, then they could not even blame her; after all, who asked them to look down on her?

"I think what Xiao Wang is saying is right. Most probably, she caught something really good and wanted to hide the truth from us so that her fishing spot wouldn’t be stolen," said one of the men with a sly glint in his eyes. The more he thought about it, the more he realised that Han Ruochen was rather a scheming woman. To think she could actually listen to such harsh words, all because she wanted to hide the truth from them.

No wonder Han Ruochen was overly calm these days; this was the reason behind her actions!

As soon as the men realised that they had been fooled, they all turned even angrier. This Han Ruochen was really good; they were from the same village, and yet she was going to such lengths to hide her fishing spot from them. If they followed her, then they would be able to earn a decent sum of money. Was there anything wrong with helping them out? After all, they were from the same village, were they not?

She should help them out when she can. Why was she hiding the truth from them?

They completely forgot that they were the ones who were scolding and mocking Han Ruochen a few seconds ago.

On the other side, Han Ruochen did not know that the secret that she was hiding with all her might was now out in the open. She was currently in a predicament as she looked at the two old men who were fighting in front of her and had no idea what to do at the moment. As for what happened, it all started when she arrived at the Emerald Pavilion. The second she arrived at the Pavilion, she asked for Master Bo. However, who would have thought that before the second she arrived, another old man would rush ahead and open the lid of the box that she had brought with her?

And the second she opened the box, the old man looked at her and exclaimed, "Ten thousand yuan! For one Bluefin Tuna!"

"What do you think you are doing?" Master Bo shouted as he came running inside. He glared at the man who was snatching the Bluefin Tuna from him and almost exploded. "Old Jiang, don’t be too much. Do you think that you can act all arrogant just because I am giving you face?" Master Bo was so angry that he was almost smoking from his nostrils. He looked at his old friend and almost slapped him in the face.

Master Jiang did not look like he was ashamed at all. In fact, he simply raised his head and snorted arrogantly. "Old Bo, don’t be so petty. In the end, you have already earned quite a lot of fame these past few days, haven’t you? Just let me have this chance."

Master Jiang looked like he was asking, but his stance showed that he wanted the old man to give in to his wishes.

When Old Master Bo heard his friend’s words, he was so angry that he wished he could fight with him. This old man, he seemed to have gotten more shameless with his old age. How could he be so shameless? He actually said such a thing. So what if he were gaining fame? What did it have to do with this man? Why would he give up his benefits to him?

And that was how she ended up in the current situation.

"Eleven thousand per bluefin tuna!" 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖

"Twelve thousand!"

"Thirteen thousand!"

"Fourteen thousand!"

"Fifteen thousand!"

When Old Master Jiang saw that the man had actually stated such a high price, he could not help but grit his teeth. This man! He was really too much. He deliberately stated such a high price because he knew the market price of bluefin tuna. Fifteen thousand! That was the highest price for a bluefin tuna in the market. If he were to offer a price higher than this one, then there was a good chance that he would be the one making a loss. How could he do such a thing?

He came here to make a profit; how could he offer a price that could make him suffer a loss?

"Well played, Old Bo." Old Master Jiang nodded. He then turned to look at the rest of the boxes, and without considering Han Ruochen’s intentions, he announced, "If I cannot get my hands on the bluefin tuna, then I might as well take these golden threadfin breams with me."

"You are not taking anything with you!" snapped Old Master Bo. He turned to look at Han Ruochen and then said to her, "Ruochen, you came here to sell these things to our emerald pavilion, did you not?"

Han Ruochen nodded under his gaze; she was worried that if she dared to say anything else. She was about to say something, but before she could, Old Master Jiang glared at Old Master Bo and said to him, "What do you mean? This girl has not signed a contract with you; if she wants, then she can sell this seafood to anyone. Isn’t that right?"

As soon as he finished speaking, Han Ruochen was sure that she heard the sound of a ding somewhere, the one that rang before a wrestling match started.
