Chapter 162: Bullying The Bully
"Sister!"
Han Jianyou ran toward Han Ruochen, feeling a kind of inexplicable warmth in his heart. He never thought that one day he would be just like other students, who would come to look for their families. Though this was a little thing, it was something great for Han Jianyou, who had always felt that he had been abandoned by his family.
"Jianyou," Han Ruochen called back softly when she saw her younger brother arriving. She reached out and touched his head before saying to him, "Are you doing well? Did Dad give you enough money for lunch?" Han Ruochen knew that her father had given enough money to Han Jianyou, but she still asked because she knew that they owed Han Jianyou way too much.
Han Jianyou did not like it when someone rubbed his head, but when his sister did it, he allowed it. Why? Because he noticed that a few of his classmates were looking at them. He even smiled boldly and said to his sister, "Of course. Dad gave me enough money; I can eat meat dishes every day." Just like Han Ruochen, Han Yichen was filled with guilt when he thought about how his wife had tried to lead his son astray and even withheld his fees. He not only gave money for meat dishes but also arranged some money for Han Jianyou to play around a little.
Of course, Han Jianyou, who had learnt his lesson, did not use this money for playing but saved it.
When Han Ruochen heard that he had enough money, she heaved a sigh of relief. She then said to him, "It’s good that you are eating well. Make sure to eat a lot of vegetables as well; you are still growing and need a balanced diet." She then took out the packages that she had brought with her and handed them to Han Jianyou before saying, "Here, these are some new pairs of clothes. And I also brought some snacks along with me; eat them when you are hungry. The leather shoes are new, so apply a thick layer of oil or petroleum jelly before you wear them, or else they will bite you."
Han Jianyou listened to his sister’s fussing and did not say anything. Instead, he simply listened to her silently; this was the first time someone was telling him to be careful, and even worrying about whether he would be able to eat enough. Thus, unlike the rest of the children, he did not find it annoying.
Han Ruochen had no idea what was going on in his little mind. Her attention was on the injury on his cheek; she frowned and raised her hand before tipping his chin up. A closer look at the injury, and she knew that Han Jianyou had been hit. She frowned and asked, "What is this? Who hit you?"
"Nothing...it’s nothing..." Han Jianyou rubbed his cheek, biting back a curse. He couldn’t help but scold Qiao Dongliang. That stupid idiot – if he was going to hit him, then he should have at least paid attention to where he was hitting. Now what was he going to tell his sister?
"Jianyou... tell me the truth." Han Ruochen knew at once that her little brother was getting bullied. The injury alone was enough to depict it.
"It’s nothing, just a little fight between boys, sister." Han Jianyou did not want to tell his sister that he was getting bullied. If his sister complained to the teachers, then he would be made fun of by the students. He couldn’t tell her the truth!
Han Ruochen frowned.
She knew that the boy was getting bullied, but if he didn’t tell her the truth, how would she be able to help him?
"Jianyou, you—" she was about to scold him, but then she felt someone peeking at her. She raised her head and looked in the direction of the gaze and noticed three boys peeking out of the dormitory gates. As soon as she looked at them, the three of them hid away at once. She pursed her lips as she finally understood what was going on and softly asked, "Are those three the ones who are bullying you?"
Han Jianyou raised his head and took a furtive look at the three boys who were peeking at them, and was speechless. These three. They were truly idiotic. What was the difference between this and telling his sister that they were the ones who were bullying him?
"Sister, that—" Han Jianyou was caught in a pinch. He did not want to tell the truth to his sister, lest everyone think that he was acting like a toddler, but he also didn’t know what to say to his sister with these three peering at them through the gates.
"Alright, you don’t have to say anything. I got it." Han Ruochen understood at once that these three boys were the ones who were bullying her brother. She handed Han Beijiang to Han Jianyou and made her way toward the brats who were hiding in the shadows. She did not want to deal with little kids lest they say that she was bullying them, but since they had bullied her brother, it did not make sense for her to just ignore them either.
When Qiao Dongliang saw Han Ruochen coming over, he was so scared that he almost slipped. He scrambled on his feet and tried to make a run for it, but before he could even take a few steps, he was caught by Han Ruochen. Who pulled him back by his collar and then lifted him off the ground. Usually, Han Ruochen did not use the superhuman strength that she had received due to her golden finger, but that did not mean that she was weak in any manner.
"Stop. Where do you think you are running after hitting someone?" Han Ruochen asked as she picked up the boy from the ground like she was holding a chicken.
