Chapter 108: Pester Endlessly
Han Ruochen opened her eyes and sighed inwardly. She knew it; while she could fool everyone, Han Ziyan was sharper than most. Naturally, she would sense that there was something weird about her skills, but as long as she insisted that she was just naturally talented, what could Han Ziyan do?
"What’s there to even question about?" Han Ruochen pretended to be asleep. She had been running around the entire day and was a bit tired. She decided to get some shut-eye before the high tide started to recede. Since that was the case, she might as well get some rest. "My grandfather was a good fisherman as well. I have inherited his skills, what else is there to think about it?"
As she spoke, she slowly drifted off to sleep and ended up snoring lightly. Han Ruochen, who had underestimated Han Ziyan, didn’t realise that she had once again fallen into her ploy. Seeing that Han Ruochen had indeed fallen asleep, Han Ziyan showed a smug smile on his lips. She turned to look at Han Ruochen, who was lying sideways, and revealed a sneer. "My dear sister, you are still too green to fight with me."
Upon thinking about how this woman had refused to lend her money, Han Ziyan’s complexion turned white. She raised her hand and shoved Han Ruochen when she saw that the woman was peacefully sleeping. "Why are you sleeping, sister? I haven’t fallen asleep. You should accompany me, I came to spend time with you after all."
Han Ruochen had only fallen into a daze when she felt Han Ziyan push her. She frowned and then opened her eyes. She turned and looked at the woman sleeping next to her. What was going on? Why was she acting up? Did she not say that she was going to sleep?
Of course, Han Ruochen had expected this to happen. She knew that there was something going on in Han Ziyan’s mind when she came to look for her. "What do you want me to do?"
"Chat with me." Han Ziyan was shameless through and through. She didn’t want to let Han Ruochen sleep if she didn’t give her money.
Han Ruochen was speechless. She had nothing to speak to Han Ziyan about. How could this woman be so shameless as to cause such a fuss?
She closed her eyes and wanted to go to sleep when she was jolted awake again. Annoyed, she raised her head and looked at the woman, and when she shot an unhappy look at Han Ziyan, she realised that the woman’s face was full of gloating. It seemed like she was really bent on making trouble with Han Ruochen.
Han Ruochen was so angry that she wanted to scold. Sick, this woman was really sick!
" Sister Ruochen, do you want to sleep? Do you know why I cannot sleep? I am worried about what might happen to me if I cannot get the money on time. Sister, Mom and Dad have spent so much money that I cannot even ask them for another penny. I am too embarrassed to even ask them for money. Sister, can you help me? As long as my troubles are resolved, I am sure I will be able to sleep, and then I will not disturb you."
Once she got money from Han Ruochen, she wouldn’t bother staying with her either. Anyway, even if her room was not as big as Han Ruochen’s, it was filled with everything that she wanted.
"If my troubles are unresolved, then I will feel frustrated. Sigh. How am I supposed to sleep?"
If Han Ruochen were a man, she would have succumbed to Han Ziyan’s coaxing, but not only was Han Ruochen not a man, she held no emotions when it came to Han Ziyan. She calmly listened to Han Ziyan’s words and understood why the woman was bothering her so much today. So she was after money.
Han Ruochen scoffed inwardly. Ever since she was reborn, she had told herself that she was not going to let Han Ziyan take advantage of her ever again, so no matter what she said tonight, she was not going to let this woman take even a penny away from her.
As for Meng Yunhan, that woman could forget about taking anything away from this family. She would make sure that she was severely humiliated and discredited before she was divorced by her father!
Han Ziyan and Meng Yunhan owed her so much, and yet Han Ziyan foolishly thought that she could still take money from her? There was no way!
"I have no money ...so I cannot help you." Han Ruochen rejected the woman flatly.
Since Han Ziyan wanted to trouble her, she might as well stay awake.
When Han Ziyan saw that Han Ruochen had closed her eyes, she immediately counted to ten and then nudged Han Ruochen again.
"What?" Han Ruochen spoke up. This time around, there was no exhaustion in her tone, and there was no sign of fatigue.
Han Ziyan lowered her hand and gritted her teeth, feeling annoyed. She said angrily, "Nothing. I couldn’t sleep, so when I saw that my sister was asleep, I woke you up."
"Don’t worry, I am not sleeping." Han Ruochen sighed, feeling just as frustrated as Han Ziyan. She wondered how long she would have to play this back and forth with Han Ziyan.
She had her eyes closed, and her hands were resting on her stomach. Since she couldn’t sleep, Han Ruochen decided to check the bait box that she had won ages ago as a reward. She had been entangled in one thing after another; thus, she had never paid attention to it. She took a look at the bait box and read the description. The more she read it, the more Han Ruochen became excited. It turned out that this bait box was not a simple bait box. As long as she used this bait box, she was destined to catch big fish!
Han Ruochen wanted to go out and try it when she felt another nudge. "I am awake."
"Oh.." Han Ziyan replied, feeling a bit down. Most importantly, this time it was Han Ziyan whose voice was filled with sleepiness and it was quite clear that she was having some difficulty saying those words.
