Chapter 57: Trial of Conquest 3
His eyes glowed a deep, sinister blue as he walked towards the large Beast.

The Dragon immediately fell to its knees, its eyes also glowing a deep blue, completely enthralled by the words of this human, and unable to resist the command.
As the beast succumbed to his commands, Jacob raised his sword, little lickers of lightning englulfing the blade.
In less than a second a bolt of lightning tore through the arena, Jacob was suddenly behind the Dragon, carefully placing his sword back in his storage space.
He dusted his hands slowly and then there was a loud thump on the ground, the severed head of the Dragon had fallen to the ground.
The two shadow soldiers, Jirin and Savant looked at each other in surprise, then shrugged and turned into a puff of black smoke, seeping back into the ground.
"Congratulations, you have passed the Trial of Conquest." The voice beyond the heavens spoke once Jacob was done.
He looked up at the timer.
25:34.
He looked down at the arena, the entire floors crimson-coated with the blood of his defeated foes.
A slow smile crept on his face, he knew it didnโt take long, but to finish in less than five minutes, that was something he was surely proud of.
He sat on the ground, "So what do I do here until the time runs out?" He muttered with a sigh.
Xeniaโs POV:
The woman found herself surrounded by powerful creatures with no support whatsoever, but she would not be so easily cornered by lesser beings.
"I have set these trials according to the difficulty level required. The time has been set. Begin."
The voice resounded beyond the clouds as Xenia stilled herself, her breathing changed, forming a rhythmic pattern, her eyes were completely shut as she harnessed her spiritual energy.
Her blade emitted a faint hum as her leather gloves gripped tightly on the handle.
The Beasts growled in anticipation.
The first one to attack was the Gold Winged Roc, it spread its wings as wide as nature would allow it, dashing towards Xenia at tremendous pace. Its feathers immediately solidified, turning into blades as it closed in, aiming a direct slash at the woman.
Xenia eyes peeled open. She bent over backwards instantly as the Roc swung at her, missing her by an inch and cutting into empty air.
The Lion charged in second, swiping a heavy paw at the woman. She raised her blade and blocked the heavy paw strike, channeling her Qi to her leg and kicking the Beast back. The force of the kick pushing her backwards as well.
She performed a back flip and immediately sighted the Ape, banging its fists on the ground and heading towards her.
The beast swung a huge fist at her, but she danced through the air as though she commanded it, dodging the attack and immediately countering with a strike of her own.
Her blade tore into the back of the Mountain Ape, itโs crimson blood instantly gushing out.
The large bird swooped in again, picking her up with its talons, itโs sharp claws tugging into her skin and ripping her clothes.
She yelped and stabbed the tip of her blade into the birdโs abdomen.
The beast screeched and let her go instantly, watching her fall to the ground with a thud, her sword landing a few feet from her.
She breathed heavily as she got up, the Lion charged at her again, its jaws outstretched and aimed at her lower body.
She managed to side step, barely evading the attack.
She gathered her Qi in her fist and punched the Lion in the side, practicing what she had learnt while holding up the invisible boulder a few hours ago.
The attack resounded through the Lionโs body, it instantly spat out a glob of blood from its mouth onto the floor.
She dashed and slid on the floor, picking up her sword, she ran towards the wounded Frost Lion and jumped on its back, her suit and body starting to freeze as she mounted the creature.
STAB!
She plunged her blade through the Frost Lionโs skull, the beast fell to the ground, the effects of its freezing powers gone in an instant.
She stood up, her hair a mess now; she narrowed her eyes as her gaze met with the bleeding Ape and Roc.
The bloodlust of battle had near consumed her by now, her eyes were bloodshot, and she was sweating profusely.
She gripped the crimson coated sword even tighter and closed her eyes again.
"I... will... not... LOSE!" She yelled as her aura exploded, her eyes were completely red now.
She moved, a lot faster than before, the Ape barely caught wind of her movements before its head was severed from its neck.
Its lifeless head rolled on the floor, towards the Gold Winged Roc, who raised its wings, flapping them frantically and blowing a strong gust of wind at Xenia.
She stabbed her sword into the ground, holding it tight as the wind pushed her backwards.
Once the Roc noticed that Xenia wasnโt moving from her spot, it turned its feathers into blades again and swung its wings one after the other.
Tiny little blade-like feathers flew at the woman, but she danced through the air, only after-images of her could be seen in the arena.
She moved fast again, the Roc tried to leap into the air before she managed to close the gap, but it was too slow.
One slice of her sword and a wing was gone.
The creature yelped in excruciating pain, Xenia wasnโt done, she swung herself over to the other side and severed the other wing.
The Roc fell to its knees, groaning.
She stared at it with bloodthirsty eyes and severed its head on the spot.
She let out a sigh of relief and fell backwards onto the ground.
"Congratulations, you have passed the Trial of Conquest."
She raised a fist in celebration as she looked at the time.
