Chapter 877: Chapter 877: A-Jing Puts the Kids to Sleep
Thank goodness...
It’s not him.
Selena Kensington, deep down, still didn’t want to believe that Vincent Sinclair was an utterly vicious person.
Seeing her expression, Vincent Sinclair slightly curled his lips, "Is there anything else you want to ask?"
Selena held her gaze steady on Vincent Sinclair.
"You know? It’s not just you looking for me..."
"I’ve been looking for you too."
Selena suddenly said these words out of nowhere, catching Vincent Sinclair off guard.
Then, Selena took a deep breath and slowly spoke, "From Grandma, I learned about the story between you and Auntie. I knew I had to make sure you met, only then would I have no regrets."
After she finished, she lifted her head again to look at Vincent Sinclair.
Under Vincent Sinclair’s slightly shocked gaze, Selena continued, "Now that my regret is resolved. From now on, we are on opposing sides. I won’t let emotions sway me anymore."
Vincent Sinclair glanced at her in a daze, then suddenly let out a light chuckle, "Pfft..."
His gaze remained gentle, with a hint of a smile in his eyes.
But now, there seemed to be a sense of authenticity in that smile.
"You’re quite a surprising young lady." He finished, then his gaze turned to Cole Vaughn at the side, with a faint smile, "Cole, this is your Medium."
Selena didn’t pay attention to the playful meaning in Vincent Sinclair’s eyes.
Even though she had just learned from Vincent Sinclair that the matters involving the Kensington couple and the internal affairs of those with the Fell Bloodline had nothing to do with him.
But during the conversation between Vincent Sinclair and Grandma Jennings, Selena sensed that he still hadn’t given up on his goal.
He was still... attempting to bury the God.
Now, this warm facade was just to mask the truly twisted and crazed self beneath.
Vincent Sinclair simply smiled again, his gaze returned to Selena.
He spoke lightly, "You have one more chance to ask me a question."
Upon hearing this from Vincent Sinclair, Selena pondered for a moment.
Though she had already asked two questions, and Vincent Sinclair had no obligation to answer.
But it would be foolish not to take advantage of it.
So, Selena straightforwardly asked, "At the end of life and death, do you know where that place is?"
Selena wasn’t sure if the Apocalyptic Revelry was initiated by The Godsbane Organization, but there must be a connection between them.
And since Vincent Sinclair was allowing her to ask, she asked directly.
Upon hearing Selena’s question, Vincent Sinclair was taken aback.
"You’re quite direct... just like her in this aspect."
Vincent Sinclair sighed softly, then slightly turned his back.
He glanced back at Selena, "Hesai is a beautiful place, maybe you should take a look there."
After saying that, Vincent Sinclair turned and left the Rivers Family’s mansion.
Cole Vaughn also took a deep look at Selena before following behind Vincent Sinclair.
And Selena, upon hearing the name ’Hesai’, froze.
Vincent Sinclair personally mentioned Hesai.
Coupled with the mention of Hesai from those kidnappers, and the clues about ’rosemary’ left by Winston Kensington and Rachel Shaw, all pointed to Hesai...
So, what secret does Hesai hold?
Could it be that The Godsbane Organization’s new base, or the Apocalyptic Revelry, is taking place there?
Selena furrowed her brows, standing still for quite a while.
Eventually, unable to think of anything further, she temporarily gave up and walked into the living room.
*
That night, Selena slept in the bedroom arranged by Grandma Jennings and connected a video call with Sterling Norwood.
As soon as the video call connected, Selena saw the little Seraphina and little Celeste lying in the crib.
The siblings seemed particularly excited upon seeing her, waving their little hands towards her.
Especially little Celeste, her mouth couldn’t stop laughing gleefully.
Seeing the two little ones, the weight in Selena’s heart dissipated entirely.
Looking at their sweet smiles, Selena couldn’t help but smile widely hersef.
She softly spoke to the little ones, "Little Seraphina, little Celeste, do you miss Mommy?"
Hearing Selena’s voice, little Celeste laughed even more delightfully.
Meanwhile, little Seraphina was much more calm compared to her sister.
Yet those eyes were still locked onto Selena, seemingly worried she might vanish again.
After watching them for a while, Selena then asked, "Where’s Daddy?"
Soon after, Selena noticed the camera on the phone shift, and into view came Sterling Norwood’s face.
Sterling Norwood seemed much more at ease seeing her safe and sound.
"They seemed to feel it was your call; they’ve been restless ever since," Sterling Norwood explained helplessly.
Otherwise, why wouldn’t he want to be the first to see his beloved wife?
Hearing Sterling Norwood’s words, Selena couldn’t help but chuckle.
Sterling Norwood watched her carefully for a moment, then gradually spoke, "Are you tired today? It seems like you’ve got a bit of fatigue..."
Hearing Sterling Norwood’s words, Selena was slightly taken aback.
A lot indeed happened during the day, and Selena hadn’t had time to rest.
Luckily, it wasn’t as tiring as during her pregnancy, otherwise, even Selena couldn’t guarantee she’d hold up.
Her eyes slightly averted, "A little, meeting so many of the Rivers Family relatives today was a bit exhausting."
Hearing Selena’s words, Sterling Norwood gave her a calm look, and then didn’t ask further.
He glanced over at the two little ones still playing around.
"Once I coax them to sleep, I’ll talk to you properly."
Selena was momentarily stunned upon hearing Sterling Norwood say that.
Then she couldn’t hold in her laughter, "Pfft..."
"You’ve learned how to coax kids to sleep just with me gone for a day?"
Sterling Norwood hesitated for a moment before asking, a bit puzzled, "Is it that difficult?"
He then turned the camera towards the two little ones.
Selena eagerly watched the screen, curious about how Sterling Norwood would put the kids to sleep.
Under Selena’s expectant gaze, Sterling Norwood spoke.
But as soon as he spoke, Selena fell into silence.
Sterling Norwood calmly told the two little ones, "Sleep."
The words came with a hint of threat, even though they were plain.
Little Seraphina silently looked at him, seemingly speechless at his way of coaxing them to sleep. He glanced at his still playful sister and then closed his eyes first.
Little Celeste didn’t seem to hear Sterling Norwood’s words, as she was still excitedly vying for Selena’s attention.
Sterling Norwood then squinted his eyes slightly and said to little Celeste, "If you don’t sleep, you won’t see Mommy tomorrow."
Little Celeste "..."
Little Celeste seemed to understand Sterling Norwood’s words. She felt threatened by her father, and her mouth pouted slightly.
Her eyes stared tearfully at Selena, looking like she had suffered a great grievance.
