Chapter 870: Chapter 870: Arrival in Oakhaven
When Sterling Norwood walked in, this was the scene he saw.
Selena Kensington sat beside the two little ones, earnestly imparting great truths to the brother and sister.
The two little ones reacted differently.
Little Seraphina seemed a bit sleepy, her eyes no longer focused on her mom.
Meanwhile, little Celeste appeared to be listening intently, though a hint of confusion floated in her big, round eyes.
She seemed a bit dazed, yet it didn’t dampen the adorable aura of little Celeste.
It’s just...
The things his wife was saying seemed a bit silly too.
But how could Sterling dare to say that out loud?
He walked over and stopped behind Selena.
At this moment, little Seraphina, amidst her mom’s rambling, lost the desire to keep her, her eyes slightly drowsy.
And little Celeste still had that confused look, staring blankly.
She seemed to still be processing what her mom was saying...
But Selena was unaware of their reactions, assuming they understood her words and were obediently quiet now.
Selena felt quite gratified by this.
She turned her head and saw Sterling standing behind her.
Selena let out a small sigh of relief, "You’re here."
She finished speaking, glanced at the two now obedient little ones, and muttered, "Finally got them settled."
Sterling smiled, took her hand, "Let’s go, I’ve already got your luggage ready for you."
Hearing this, Selena raised her eyebrows.
Originally, when Selena woke up, she intended to pack her luggage herself.
But because the two little ones suddenly acted up, she had no choice but to have Sterling do it for her.
For just one day, there wasn’t much to pack anyway.
At most, just some change of clothes for the day and the items Selena usually kept in her bag.
Selena said, "Alright, then I’ll head out first."
She finished speaking and took one last look at the two little ones gradually falling asleep.
A hint of amusement flashed in her eyes.
Sterling took her hand and they walked out.
He personally escorted Selena to the airport and only left after seeing her board the private plane he arranged.

Selena arrived in Oakhaven by noon that day.
Following the address Grandma Jennings gave her, Selena went to where the Jennings family now resided.
Oakhaven, located by the sea, harbors many fishing villages of various sizes. Every fishing season, boats sail out, presenting a grand spectacle.
Selena arrived at just the right time, this being the spring fishing season for these fishermen.
Yet she had no mind to appreciate this grand scene—her heart was filled only with nervousness.
Vincent Sinclair...
What kind of person is he?
Decades have passed, does he still linger in his youth?
The same time when Esther Jennings passed away.
No matter how tense Selena felt inside, the taxi still brought her to the small fishing village where the Jennings family now resided.
"Young lady, walk a bit further and you’ll see the village marker," the taxi driver said kindly.
Selena collected herself, smiling, thanked him, and paid the fare.
She got out of the car, looking at the road ahead.
This small fishing village was indeed small, seemingly insignificant next to the larger villages nearby.
Even the road was just a narrow strip.
When Selena reached the village marker the driver mentioned, her steps halted immediately.
Because at that moment, someone was standing by the village marker.
Cole Vaughn.
He seemed to be deliberately waiting for Selena there.
When Selena saw him, her subconscious instinct was to stop.
But realizing something, she walked over to him.
Selena halted beside Cole Vaughn.
Cole observed her for a while, no emotion flickering in his eyes.
Just when Selena frowned, about to speak, Cole spoke first.
"You’ve recovered well."
Hearing this, Selena frowned even more.
Unwilling to be outdone, a faint smirk of sarcasm crept on her lips, "You’re still alive too."
Hearing this, Cole’s gaze remained unchanged.
Not even a hint of anger crossed his face.
Selena glanced at him, feeling a bit bored.
After all, she could act brazenly in front of Cole; as long as his convictions remained unchanged, no matter how she challenged him, Cole wouldn’t harm her.
Because...
He was waiting for her to kill him.
Cole and Selena didn’t linger long by the village marker. Under Cole’s guidance, Selena quickly reached where the Jennings family now lived.
Though small, the fishing village’s residents had made their fortunes through fishing over the generations. The houses, while not as luxurious as villas, were far from how rundown they were decades ago.
But...
Selena gazed at the ancient-looking house before her.
Standing in the fishing village, it appeared both out of place and blended in.
Surrounded by modern-looking houses, this house seemed to have existed long before, untouched by renovation.
The ancient redwood door and the walls on either side announced the house’s long history to passersby.
"This..." Selena exclaimed in surprise.
Why was such a house hidden in this small village?
Wasn’t it only a decade ago that the Jennings family moved here?
Cole, seeing her expression, understood her confusion.
"This is the ancestral home of the Jennings," he explained.
Selena turned to him, "Ancestral home?"
Cole nodded.
"It’s where the Jennings family shrine is located, also their ancestral home. It’s considered their final resting place."
Upon hearing Cole’s explanation, Selena fell silent.
She followed Cole inside.
Cole seemed familiar with the place, swiftly leading Selena into the living room.
Upon stepping into the living room, Selena saw Grandma Jennings and a man with his back to her.
Seeing the man, Selena’s heart jounced.
Nervousness crept back into her heart.
The man’s back was to her, obscuring his face.
Yet Selena was sure this man was Vincent Sinclair.
When Selena and Cole entered the living room, Grandma Jennings, facing them, took notice.
She looked up at Selena.
To Selena’s surprise, Grandma Jennings, who seemed so spirited back in Aethelgard, now appeared to have aged several years, her expression markedly more haggard.
Selena’s hand at her side unconsciously clenched.
What had her grandmother gone through recently?
But Selena evidently had no time to ponder this now.
For as Grandma Jennings looked up at her, her eyes reflected a hint of helplessness.
