Chapter 1214: Cyclic evolution

Sheina wore a formal business attire, one that made her look as if she was a powerful business woman.

Unlike Jaku who was still wearing his clothes from before (now tattered from being stretched thanks to his new body), she was more aware of the change in her body. She quickly changed her clothes to something that fit her more human features before she teleported here to assist in the factory.

It was the same with Umisu.

The shy Dragonborn looked more human than her sister. She had short, green hair that made her look boyish. Like always, she had her head down and struggled to make eye contact with anyone. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶

But despite that, one couldn’t help but admit that there was a hidden strength within her. Looking at her felt like looking at a distant storm. It looked fine from afar, but once they got close, they’d witness the wrath and unbridled power of mother nature.

Sheina was tall like Jaku, but Umisu was the same height as she was before.

"Umm.... hello," Umisu greeted.

"Hello," Michael greeted with a smile. "Do you all like your new evolutions?"

The three Dragonborns were able to see the difference in power immediately. Despite being only in the 7th stage of Body Formation, they were able to defeat a 9th stage Ersatz cultivator with absolute ease. They didn’t even have to use their Ancient Roar to do so.

And despite Jaku’s complaints at first, even he couldn’t help but admit that this evolution had completely boosted everything about their capabilities by manyfolds.

It was at this point that Michael noticed that the three of them were indeed the same species as each other.

They looked human, but had enhanced Dragonborn physiologies.

Truly, the only differing evolution between the siblings was Zion.

And once he told them about Zion, they immediately wanted to see him for himself.

So, letting the Shadow Orcs deal with the aftermath of the Ersatz robbery, he and the Dragonborns immediately teleported back to the Nation.

It was now deep in the night. The only thing active in the Nation of Reborn were the taverns and bars that the working class citizens frequented during their off-times.

Michael found the Dragon curled up in the backyard of their headquarters, half of him on the balcony itself, and the other half laid on the grass.

He did feel a bit sorry for the young Dragonborn.

Thankfully, he wasn’t alone. Inferus (in his human form) leaned on the Dragon as he slept. He awoke once Michael and the others arrived.

"Oh, Michael... and..."

Infernus’s eyes narrowed as he looked at the three humans behind Michael.

He seemed to have sensed that something was different with them. His Draconian intuition was telling him that they were opponents that he shouldn’t underestimate.

"You..."

Then once they got closer, Infernus sniffed the air. It was at that moment that his eyes widened with recognition.

"YOU! The Dragonborns?!"

His shout woke up the sleeping dragon beside him.

"Huh?" Zion sleepily muttered. The young Dragon immediately perked up as he saw his siblings. "Bro—"

Then, he broke out in laughter.

"HAHAHAHAHA! BRO! SIS! YOU’RE STILL IN A SMALL FORM LIKE THAT?!"

...

...

...

The Dragonborns had a little reunion, which mostly consisted of Zion teasing his elder siblings about how now he was the one who was ahead of them.

In the meanwhile, Michael and Infernus met up alone in the Headquarters.

The Draconian had requested this meeting as soon as he saw the state of the three Dragonborns.

"Listen, I’m not going to ask how you were able to evolve them... but I’m just hoping that you consider at least going to the Draconian Continent."

Michael’s eyebrows raised. "Why is that?"

Infernus showed a rare moment of vulnerability. "To be completely honest, we Draconians are quite prideful. We consider ourselves as the best race in the world.

This all stems from the fact that we believe that we have the strongest genetic connection to the Ancient Era. We believe that we are the descendants of the Mythical Beasts. And that is why we are desperate to have the Ancient Roar manifest inside our race.

But now, you have shown that the Ancient Roar actually manifested around demi-humans. But not just any demi-human. Demi-humans who are called Dragonborns. Unless you chose that name arbitrarily, I believe that there is a connection there."

Michael could see where Infernus was getting to.

He was implying that the Draconians and the Dragonborns, and by extension the Komodos, were part of the same branch of genetic evolution.

And it seemed that they were connected of some sort.

"If we solve the problem of this connection, we could theoretically find a way to resurrect the Mythical Beasts into this world. We could regain the majesty of our race!

I think that this is the ultimate evolution for all of us Beastfolks and demi-humans. I think that our path isn’t progressive. It’s a circle. And we’ll only achieve our peak once we go back into the start. Once we all become Mythical Beasts."

Beastfolks and humans weren’t so different after all.

Beastfolks wanted to become Mythical Beasts. Meanwhile, Humans wanted to become Ancient Humans.

These two species were just trying to find a way to revert back to the Ancient Era, when power was abundant amongst everybody.

"There are secrets," continued Infernus. "Secrets about the Mythical Beasts that are only found in the Draconian Continent. Now I’m not allowed to see them. But... I bet if you showed up with the Dragonborns, my species will be convinced to let you take a peek at the records."

This was very intriguing for Michael. And perhaps, he would someday go to the Draconian Continent.

But currently, he has no plans. They were still too weak when it came to the global scale.

Whose to say that the Draconians wouldn’t imprison them and look at the secrets of how the Ancient Roar was achieved?

Of course, that was just him overthinking things. If Charys wanted to force them to tell their secrets, she would have already done so. No one would be able to stop her.
