Chapter 1197: Growl

Hearing such vile words, the whole table was suddenly silenced. The perpetrators themselves struggled to find the words to describe what they were feeling right now.

In short, they felt naked. Vulnerable. Who would have ever thought that their private conversations would suddenly be leaked like this?!

After having their conversations so public, right in the middle of the other Nascent Spirit leaders, they already thought that their conversations wouldn’t be as secret as they would like.

However, at the very least, they were sure that they wouldn’t be able to be spied on! At most, these people would only feel that there was something suspicious going on with them. But they wouldn’t be able to eavesdrop. They’d be alerted.

But this wasn’t even an eavesdropping. This was the worst version of it! Their conspiracies and vulgar words were presented in front of everyone to hear and see without anything missing at all!

They couldn’t even figure out how this was possible. They turned to look at Michael. The very person who had revealed their secrets.

"This young man... he already knew what we were planning from the very beginning!"

"And he was able to keep his calm. Such composure!"

"That strange flying machine of his is too powerful!"

Now that Michael had shown himself capable of spying inside a Nascent Spirit’s private conversation without being found out, his impression on them had skyrocketed.

People were a lot more less inclined in planning to do something vile to the Reborn company. After all, how would they know that they weren’t being spied on by that strange flying metal object?

"What is this sorcery? You must be using some kind of Aubility Power to create this illusion!"

However, the opposition’s words were only as light as a feather. It had no weight. After all, they all knew that the visual projection held no magic nor Aubility Power inside. They weren’t qualified to be Nascent Spirit cultivators if they couldn’t even understand that.

Not only that, but everyone here were all very familiar with each other. They knew each other’s powers, habits, and even their speech patterns.

They could tell that the video projected truly happened because the opposition acted like themselves. It didn’t look fake.

All of this was enough for the gazes on the perpetrators to change. Using such a vile tactic on a junior... that was very much humiliating and shameful for their stature.

But all of this to say... this couldn’t actually be considered as reliable evidence. So, despite the video, it couldn’t be used to prosecute these perpetrators. The Montgomerys would quickly release them without any punishments.

However, there was still a vital piece of evidence in this room that could be used to prosecute the opposition.

And it was none other than the assassins themselves. If they could truly prove that they were sent by the guilty party, then that would be enough for the Montgomerys to take action.

"Look at our GodForge pieces," said the assassin in a hurry. "We have a contract there that will tie directly to them!"

"YOU!"

The Rebornian opposition were immediately panicked. If one were to look inside those assassins’ hearts, they would see a contract placed onto them at the very moment that they had become Maugnetics.

It was a contract that stated that they would kill themselves if they were to ever betray or fail a mission from their leaders.

If one were to trace the Aubility Power threads from that contract, then it would easily lead back to the guilty party, which was the Rebornian opposition.

It was ironic. This was supposed to be their failsafe. It was supposed to be the reason why they were so confident in sending out an assassin, thinking that it couldn’t be traced back to them.

However, they failed to take into account that the Reborn company was able to capture these assassins alive.

And not only that, but they were able to somehow convince them to betray their organizations! What kind of torture were they subject to, that they would go against their decades of training?

"Yes, let’s see this once and for all. I shall call for an Arbiter to overlook this matter," said Eldea. "I have a Montgomery on standby. I’ll call them over."

It was at this point that the Rebornian opposition knew that they were in a precarious situation. If they were proven to be guilty, they would experience great setbacks that others would use to push them down!

They all looked at each other. This time, they didn’t need to have a private conversation. They knew that Michael would be able to hear through it anyway.

This time, they just shared a silent look. They knew that the only way that they could get out of this situation was if they destroyed the only evidence Reborn had.

At the very least, they had to destroy their hearts. It was the only thread that connected them to the crime.

And this time, they couldn’t rely on their employees. They had to do it themselves. Nascent Power was the only thing that could be fast enough to bypass through all of the eyes focused on the assassins.

Someone amongst them moved, letting the core in his heart pulse with power.

Immediately, this pulse of power emanated into the room, alerting everyone about what was to happen. They knew that they were planning to kill the assassins!

This was basically an admission of guilt!

Of course, the opposition knew that this would happen. But they didn’t care. If they killed the assassin, they could simply reason that the assassin had some sort of dangerous weapon of sorts.

Many would still know that they had just done so in order to remove evidence. But that couldn’t ever be proved. The evidence was destroyed, after all.

A dark hand made out of a violet, gaseous condensation appeared in the air, diving towards the assassins in front of the Dragonborns.

They were just mere milliseconds before these assassins were destroyed.

But it was at that moment that a growl came out.

"Stop."
