Chapter 1229: Chapter 1229: Rescuing the Siblings
Jiang Xue stood outside and could feel their excited emotions. Mu Qiancheng dug a dozen more times and finally made a big hole in the wall.
Seeing that the hole was about ready, Jiang Xue said to the children inside, "Kids, you can come out now."
Hearing Jiang Xue’s voice and seeing the big hole in the wall, the two children came to the opening hand in hand.
"Sister, you go out first!" At the opening, the brother let go of his sister’s hand and let her go out first. The sister didn’t refuse and crawled out from the hole first.
Soon after, the brother also crawled out, and then the siblings hugged each other and started laughing. But after laughing, they suddenly started crying.
Seeing the suddenly crying siblings, Jiang Xue couldn’t help but ask, "Kids, what’s wrong?"
"Brother and sister, please save our parents. They are buried inside too. We beg you, please save them." The siblings spoke while kneeling in front of Jiang Xue and Mu Qiancheng.
"Stand up first, we are here to rescue people. But as you can see, we don’t have enough tools right now, and the rescue won’t be fast."
"We understand, just promise to save them."
"Okay, we promise. Now, let me take you to the relocation site." Jiang Xue said as she took the two of them to the relocation site.
By the time Jiang Xue took the two over, there were already people at the relocation site. Jiang Xue handed them over to the person in charge and then returned to Mu Qiancheng and the others.
Currently, except for a hoe, the only tool they had was a shovel. But saving people was urgent.
So, as Jiang Xue took the two children away, Mu Qiancheng and Gong Bei had already started to take action, preparing to save those buried inside.
They had just rescued two children, and beneath the ruin where they stayed, there was another survivor. Mu Qiancheng and Gong Bei intended to rescue the other surviving person.
When Jiang Xue returned, she narrowed the search area a bit. But even so, it was not easy to rescue people from under the ruins.
To rescue them, the bricks, floors, and such on top had to be removed first. And to handle those materials, a shovel and hoe were not enough; they also needed something to load the debris into, otherwise their efforts would be in vain.
Luckily, Jiang Xue had some iron buckets and a carrying pole in her space. To save people as quickly as possible, Jiang Xue found a deserted spot, took the items out, and joined the rescue effort.
When Jiang Xue placed the iron bucket in front of Mu Qiancheng and Gong Bei, Mu Qiancheng didn’t react much because he had seen these iron buckets before and knew they were from the space. However, Gong Bei hadn’t seen them, so he smiled and asked Jiang Xue, "Sister-in-law, where did you get these clean-looking things?"
"Don’t ask questions you shouldn’t. Quickly fill up the iron bucket, saving lives is most important." Jiang Xue naturally wouldn’t satisfy Gong Bei’s curiosity; she wasn’t going to expose the existence of her space.
Seeing Jiang Xue unwilling to speak, Gong Bei felt a bit bored and didn’t ask further. Instead, he started filling the bucket with debris. When the bucket was full and Jiang Xue was about to carry it away with the pole, Mu Qiancheng stopped his actions, took the pole from her hand, and said, "Xue’er, let me do it."
After speaking, he carried the items off. Jiang Xue watched, smiled, and then picked up the tools Mu Qiancheng had left on the ground, ready to start working.
