Chapter 1239: Chapter 1239: The Decision
Chaoyang had no choice but to stay at the factory. As soon as he entered the office, he picked up his tea cup, and before he could sip, he heard the phone ring.
"Hello."
"Chaoyang, it’s me, your uncle."
"Uncle." Chaoyang was puzzled as to why he was calling him.
"Chaoyang, you’ll be going to T City soon; Xue’er and Guodong are getting married."
"Getting married?"
"Yes, the arrangements are already being made over there. We can’t realistically go over, but when they return, we’ll have a ceremony here."
"Okay, I understand. Which day is it?"
"It’s not decided yet. From what Guodong’s father says, they’re waiting for your master to return before setting the date."
"Okay, I understand. Master Shang has a check-up tomorrow, which should determine when we’ll go back, and I’ll inform them."
"Alright, once there’s news, I’ll call Guodong’s dad."
Chaoyang hung up the phone, took a stroll and gave some instructions, then rode his bike to find his master.
Teacher Jiang would be quite shocked.
Li Yunqiao hung up the phone and didn’t rest either. He needed to go back to his hometown this week.
Chaoyang arrived home just in time for lunch.
Han Xiangjun raised an eyebrow, "I took leave, and you took leave too?"
"Uncle Han, I didn’t take leave; I’m here to tell Teacher Jiang some good news."
Jiang Xinyu smiled, "What good news do you have to tell me?"
"My uncle just called to say that Guodong and Xue’er are getting married. We’re waiting for Teacher Jiang to return and arrange the wedding."
The adults laughed, thinking that Guodong had made an impulsive decision.
"That’s really good news. I understand. Tomorrow, once Master Shang’s check-up results are out, and we know the treatment plan, we’ll head back."
"Teacher Jiang, since your car can’t fit everyone, I’ll take the train back. I’m attending on behalf of the bride’s family."
Zhao Xiaoli sighed, "I also have to go back. I was initially thinking of not going, but now I must."
Guodong’s marriage; there’s no way around it, everyone has to go back.
"Then I’ll find another truck. Once it’s packed, it’ll be comfortable. The kids and women can take jeeps, and the rest can sit in the truck."
Wei Kaiyun stood by, watching Han Xiangjun, who seemed eager to join the excitement too.
"Xiao Jiang, quickly set the date, so I can give them leave."
"Not working?" Old Yang asked with a smile.
Han Xiangjun waved his hand, "Leave, leave." This year, He’s been tied down here, so He wouldn’t miss this opportunity.
Now everyone’s schedules were pretty much set.
Chaoyang was thinking on the side; he wasn’t sure if he could return home this year. If not, he could take the train back from there directly.
He’s been away for almost a year, and he misses home.
At the Lv Family, after finishing lunch, Jing Chu still had to go to Aunt Jiang’s house. Knowing that her brother was getting married, Aunt Jiang would definitely come back quickly. Although the house had warmed up, it was still not ideal.
Now it was just the young couple at home. They nestled together, gradually getting closer.
The two young people were still at a fresh stage in their relationship, constantly exploring and feeling a sense of novelty.
Today, Li Xue was less uncomfortable and could go along with Guodong, making the young man even more excited.
The two youngsters, having tasted the forbidden fruit for the first time, were increasingly delighted, finding joy in their experiences.
"Xue’er, tomorrow you’ll rightfully belong to me."
"Yes, Lv Guodong, from tomorrow onwards, you’ll truly belong to me too."
The two snuggled together, exchanged smiles, and lay close to each other, tireless.
Jing Chu tidied up at home and then went to the supply and marketing cooperative to find She Xiaoyun, unsure about the condition of the bedding.
"Jing Chu, I’ll deliver the bedding tonight. Do you have the key?"
"Yes, I’ll wait at home for Aunt She. Will it be before or after dinner?"
"After dinner, I need to go home to cook."
"Alright, I got it." Jing Chu said and was about to leave.
"Wait, we have pork today. Take some home."
"Aunt She, you should prepare more meat. I reckon Aunt Jiang will be back in a few days."
"Did Xinyu call you?"
Jing Chu shook her head defiantly, "Not yet. Tomorrow, my brother and sister-in-law are going to register. My dad said we’re waiting for Aunt Jiang to come back to celebrate."
"Okay, starting tomorrow, all of you can come to buy meat. This way, you can save a lot."
"Okay. I’ve got it."
Jing Chu carried three pounds of meat and directly returned to the Jiang Family.
On the way, she suddenly thought about her brother getting married, and Sister Xiaoli would surely return, so she hurriedly carried the meat and rushed back home.
In the afternoon, she had to sort out Sister Xiaoli’s home. The key should be at home, right? She wasn’t sure.
Back home, she saw the door bolted from the inside and quickly knocked, realizing her brother and sister-in-law hadn’t gone out to play.
Guodong and his wife hadn’t dressed yet. Hearing the knocking, they quickly got up.
"Brother, do you know where Sister Xiaoli’s house key is? You’re getting married; surely they’ll all come back."
"I do." Guodong felt a bit embarrassed, as now his thoughts revolved entirely around his wife, forgetting about these details.
Jing Chu hung the meat up, "Let’s tidy up Sister Xiaoli’s house too."
Li Xue also came out of the room, and Jing Chu didn’t scrutinize her, while Li Xue felt immensely relieved.
"Xue’er, you stay home, Jing Chu and I can handle it."
"I am fine too."
Jing Chu glanced at her sister-in-law and noticed her hair was messy, and her face was red.
Having never gone through this herself, she naturally didn’t know why.
"Sister-in-law, the two of us can do it quickly."
The three grabbed tools from home and headed next door. The place was indeed quite rundown, making it difficult to start.
Guodong was feeling frustrated, but over the years no one had cared for the place; smoke leaked from the bed and walls, making it completely uninhabitable.
"Brother, go find Uncle Lin at the end of our street. He builds beds. Let him come over to fix the bed, stove, and kitchen. Otherwise, it’s impossible to live here."
"Alright, I got it. You two go home. We need to wait until it gets fixed before we can actually clean it up."
"Sure, sister-in-law, go home. I need to trouble Aunt She again, since we can’t buy enough cotton or fabric."
"Jing Chu, have Aunt She make two more sets of bedding, just in case Uncle Han and Jianbin come over and there’s nothing for them to sleep with. Also, Chaoyang could be coming over."
"Okay, I’ll go home and get some money. Aunt She doesn’t charge for Aunt Jiang’s bedding, but that’s not the case for Sister Xiaoli’s."
Jing Chu took a hundred yuan and headed back to the supply and marketing cooperative, feeling quite embarrassed but having no choice, as living without bedding in the cold is impossible.
"Aunt She, can you make six more sets of bedding?"
"What’s going on?"
"My brother is going to get registered tomorrow; basically, everyone will come back. We weren’t prepared, so I hope you can help make six more sets."
"I’ll call Secretary Pan; there’s plenty of cotton over there, so no problem here."
