Chapter 199: Chapter 199: Street Murder! The Badass Security Guard
The weekend ended, and Wu Yun returned to his monotonous routine.
On Tuesday, Wu Yun and Wen Meng had just finished their workout at the Martial Arts Hall. After buying some fruit at the night market, they were chatting and laughing as they walked toward the entrance of their residential complex.
Just as they reached the gate, they heard a scream.
"AHHH—!" The sound was so shrill it seemed to make nearby windows tremble.
"Someone’s been murdered!"
On the side of the road, a young man with a trembling right hand pointed a long kitchen knife at a heavily made-up woman.
The man, his expression agitated, shouted, "I never thought you’d be such a slut, cheating on me behind my back! How could you do this to me?"
"I traveled a thousand miles away for work, and this is how you fucking treat me!"
"I’ll tell you the truth! I’ve been back for three days! Three whole days! And you’ve been bringing this man back to my home every single fucking day!"
The more the man spoke, the more furious he became, the blade of the knife in his hand inching closer to the woman’s face.
The woman was already paralyzed with fear, collapsed on the ground. Beside her lay a young man in a white t-shirt, his chest and stomach stained red with blood.
The young man on the ground struggled for a moment before he stopped breathing. The blood seeping from his body pooled beneath him.
"I worked my ass off to save up for the betrothal gift! I ran myself ragged doing business out of town! What was it all for?! Wasn’t it so we could have a better life together?!"
The knife-wielding youth seemed to have an urge to vent everything, continuing, "I wonder if your mother would drop dead from anger if she knew what a shameless thing her daughter has done!"
"Hahaha! I’m so fucking lucky! Did you know?! I already saved up the whole two hundred thousand for the betrothal gift!"
"I was just waiting until the end of the year to talk to you about the wedding!"
"Now, I wouldn’t take you even if you paid me two hundred thousand!"
"You know why I didn’t finish you two off in my own apartment? I was afraid it would become a ’haunted house’ and make my mom and family uncomfortable living there! Hahahaha!"
.....
Wu Yun noticed a familiar, tall figure quietly sneaking up behind the knife-wielding youth. It was the same security guard who had shone a flashlight in his face in the basement during the National Day holiday.
Just as the agitated youth finished taunting the woman and was about to use his knife to send her to meet her lover, he felt his legs grabbed from behind. Before he could react, his chest and face made intimate contact with the pavement.
The pain from his face and chest had just registered in his brain when the youth felt a heavy blow from a fist to the base of his ear, and then he lost consciousness.
.....
Although Wu Yun couldn’t tell how formidable the tall security guard was with his naked eye, seeing him take down the armed man so cleanly from behind—and even subconsciously move as if to snap the man’s neck—told him this guard was no ordinary person.
The tall guard quickly corrected himself, instead delivering a punch to the base of the man’s ear, thereby saving the woman.
Wu Yun used his glasses to scan the tall security guard again.

’What a talent! Still, Wu Yun couldn’t figure out why such a capable person would be allowed to just be out in society.’
As Wu Yun was pondering this, he heard a woman burst into loud sobs.
It was the woman on the ground. Realizing she had been saved, she was overwhelmed by emotions with nowhere to go and simply broke down crying.
Someone in the crowd had already called the police and emergency services.
For a murder with such a severe public impact, the police response time was faster than expected.
The first to arrive was likely a patrol car that had been in the area.
A police car, sirens wailing, pulled over to the side of the road. Two officers got out, and after scanning the scene and seeing that the suspect had already been subdued by someone dressed as a security guard, they breathed a sigh of relief.
The two officers hurried over and saw a man lying on the ground covered in blood, another man lying face down, and the tall security guard pinning the prone man down.
A blood-stained kitchen knife lay quietly on the ground nearby.
When the police arrived, Wei Wu hauled the knife-wielding youth, whose mouth was full of blood, to his feet and handed him over to an officer.
The youth’s legs were still unsteady; it seemed he hadn’t recovered from the blow.
Seeing the other officer reach for the stabbed youth, Wei Wu’s deep voice rang out, "It’s no use! His heart was pierced, and he’s lost too much blood."
Standing nearby, Wu Yun heard Wei Wu declare that the man couldn’t be saved. His expression didn’t change in the slightest, and his tone was almost detached.
Wen Meng covered her mouth, unable to look at the blood-soaked young man on the ground.
’She remembered that night. If Wu Yun’s Skills hadn’t been so good, the outcome might have been the same as the young man on the ground.’
"Junior! Let’s go!" Wen Meng tugged fearfully at Wu Yun’s sleeve, not wanting to see the bloody scene any longer.
Wu Yun turned and glanced at the tall security guard again. Although he was curious about the man’s background, he knew this wasn’t a good time to approach him.
So he pulled Wen Meng into his arms, parted the crowd, and walked toward their residential complex.
"Don’t be scared! I’m here," Wu Yun said comfortingly with a smile, stroking Wen Meng’s charming face.
Then, an idea flashed in Wu Yun’s mind, and he joked, "Senior! Would you ever turn into someone like that guy with the Knife? If you saw me with another woman one day, would you stab me in the back?"
Wu Yun’s question immediately diverted Wen Meng’s attention.
Wen Meng stared at Wu Yun with her captivating eyes, a hint of a smile in them. "I would, but I couldn’t bear to stab you in the kidneys. If I had to stab you, I’d use a small knife and just poke your butt!"
"Ha! Now I’ve seen everything!"
...
An ambulance came screaming to a halt, and someone dressed as a doctor rushed out carrying a medical bag.
First, he felt for a pulse on the stabbed youth’s neck.
"No heartbeat!"
Then, seeing the youth’s pale face and the large pool of blood on the ground, he shouted, "Massive blood loss! This is critical! Stop the bleeding first!"
A nurse handed him hemostatic supplies. After some quick treatment, the youth was lifted onto a stretcher and into the ambulance.
After the ambulance drove away, the knife-wielding youth, his speech slurred, shouted at the woman, "You slut! I didn’t manage to kill you today! But from now on, you’ll have to live with this shadow over you!"
"Your boy toy isn’t gonna make it, hahaha!"
The woman’s face turned deathly pale. Not daring to meet her boyfriend’s ferocious gaze, she buried her head between her knees.
"Shut up! Get in!"
The youth was shoved into a police van that had arrived.
CLANG! The metal cage was locked, and only then were the van’s back doors closed.
"Ma’am! And you, brother! Please come with us to the station to give a statement." The lead officer’s words were polite, but his tone left no room for refusal.
The woman’s mind was still a blank, and she mechanically got up, ready to get into the police car.
Wei Wu thought for a moment, then said calmly, "One moment, I need to go inform my supervisor."
