Chapter 186: Chapter 186: Scumbag! Refined Scoundrel

The plane landed at Mianzhou Airport, and Wu Yun quickly made his way out of the small arrivals hall.

There weren’t many people there at night, and Wu Yun spotted her well-defined figure at a glance.

Wen Meng was wearing the denim miniskirt he had seen her in before. Her nude stockings and knee-high boots made her look youthful, gorgeous, and sexy, attracting the leering gazes of many men waiting nearby.

Wu Yun walked over, swept Wen Meng up into his arms, and spun her around twice before setting her down. "Senior, it’s only been a few days, but I’ve missed you dearly!"

Hearing this, any lingering resentment Wen Meng might have had instantly vanished.

She sweetly took Wu Yun’s arm, and the two walked outside together.

....

A girl watched Wu Yun’s retreating back, her expression souring as she muttered, "Ptooey! Scumbag!"

The girl next to her asked, confused, "Ai Ling, what’s wrong? Who’s a scumbag?"

The girl named Ai Ling said indignantly, "Huanhuan, remember that handsome guy and his girlfriend we saw in the departure lounge in Modu? You even said his girlfriend was absolutely gorgeous!"

Ai Ling’s words made it click for Huanhuan. "Ah! You don’t think that handsome guy is two-timing, do you?"

Ai Ling, filled with righteous indignation, said, "Exactly! Didn’t you see? A beautiful woman with an amazing body was just waiting for him at the arrivals gate, and they were hugging so intimately! Tell me he isn’t a scumbag!"

Huanhuan’s sense of justice flared up. "No way. I have to go warn that woman. We can’t let that piece of trash ruin her life."

And so, forgetting about hailing a cab, the two of them dragged their suitcases and ran, ignoring the enthusiastic calls from the unlicensed taxi touts.

Wu Yun had his arm around Wen Meng’s waist as they walked toward the parking lot, chatting about what had happened over the past few days.

Just then, a panting voice came from behind them. "HUFF... Please... wait... a moment..."

The couple turned around, curious, to see two girls in their early twenties running toward them.

Wen Meng smiled and asked, "Can we help you two?"

Ai Ling was gasping for air. She shot Wu Yun a fierce glare, took a few deep breaths to recover, and said haltingly, "Miss! Your... your..."

Seeing the two of them out of breath, Wen Meng smiled and asked, "My what? Don’t worry, take your time. Catch your breath."

Huanhuan was in better shape and recovered quickly. "Your boyfriend is two-timing you! We saw it with our own eyes!"

Ai Ling nodded vigorously and cursed at Wu Yun, "Scumbag! You’re a refined scoundrel!"

Wen Meng, suppressing a laugh, thanked the two girls with a serious expression. Then, she took a step back and grabbed Wu Yun’s ear. "Let’s go! Get in the car! You’d better give me a clear explanation today! I was wondering why you went to Modu! So there’s a little vixen there!"

Wen Meng’s voice faded as they walked away.

Ai Ling watched them get into a white Mercedes G-Wagen. Seeing Wu Yun get into the driver’s seat, she sighed. ’Just like they say! A man gets corrupted as soon as he gets rich! A "good man" is just one who can’t afford to fool around!’

"Let’s go! Time to get a cab! Otherwise, we won’t make it back to the dorms in time!"

....

Inside the car, Wen Meng clutched her stomach, roaring with laughter. "Scumbag! Refined scoundrel! BWAHAHAHA!"

As she laughed, she suddenly choked on her own saliva and started coughing violently.

Wu Yun, a bit exasperated, patted her on the back. "Go on, laugh it up! This is your punishment!"

After a moment, Wen Meng caught her breath and said with a beaming smile, "My scumbag junior! Why don’t you be a scumbag to me again tonight?!"

Wu Yun frowned, giving Wen Meng a fierce look. "If we weren’t at your family’s place, I’d spank your ass swollen tonight!"

Like a schoolboy challenging someone to a fight, Wu Yun pointed at Wen Meng. "You just wait. Don’t lock your door tonight!"

"Bring it on! Who’s afraid of who?"

Wu Yun started the car and followed the signs out of the parking garage.

Wen Meng suddenly remembered their interrupted conversation. "Where were we? I think we were talking about house hunting!"

Wu Yun’s face lit up. "Right, right! I bought another luxury condo in Modu."

Wen Meng already knew about the villa he had bought last time, since Wu Yun would occasionally visit the construction site and check in with the renovation company.

An envious look appeared on Wen Meng’s face. "I’m so jealous of Qi Fei. You bought her a house *and* you’re starting a company for her."

Wu Yun knew Wen Meng had been feeling a lot of pressure recently, so he consoled her, "Don’t be jealous. If you like, I can buy you a villa too. Or if you want to start a company, I’ll support you in whatever you choose!"

Wen Meng quickly waved her hands. "No, don’t! I prefer my carefree life right now—dancing every day, or going to yoga and Pilates. Why would I want to bring that kind of trouble on myself? I’m not cut out for it, anyway."

"As for a house, the one we’re living in now is perfect! We can talk about everything else after I graduate!"

Wu Yun was very pleased with Wen Meng’s lack of competitiveness. ’It’s better when they’re a bit older,’ he thought. ’Well-read, reasonable, and not clingy.’

"Oh! Right! Qi Fei already knows you exist. I admitted it to her myself." Wu Yun remembered the matter and decided to bring it up.

"Huh? Is that okay? Do you need me to cover for you again?" Wen Meng sighed again. ’What’s meant to be will be,’ she thought.

"It’s fine! Qi Fei doesn’t mind your existence, and she doesn’t mind Bai Yue’s either! It probably has to do with the environment she grew up in. Her father even got her a few stepmothers."

Wen Meng let out a sigh of relief, but was also surprised. "Something like that really happens?"

"There are things out there even more absurd than this! It’s just that a lot of it stays hidden from the public."

Wu Yun paused. "Qi Fei said that the next time she comes back to Rongcheng, she wants to meet you, have a meal together, and chat like sisters."

Wen Meng was still hesitant. She wrestled with the idea, saying, "I’m not sure that’s a good idea!"

Wu Yun laughed and patted Wen Meng’s thigh. "There’s nothing wrong with it! Just... this kind of relationship is something your parents can’t find out about!"

Wen Meng rolled her eyes. "I’m not an idiot! I know what to do. If my dad found out, he’d probably chase you all the way to the Capital City with a cleaver! Scared yet?"

Wu Yun dimmed his high beams for an oncoming car, then switched them back on after it passed. Only then did he say, "Don’t worry. In the future, aside from a marriage certificate and a wedding ceremony, you won’t miss out on anything! Not the wedding photos, not the babies."

Wen Meng blushed, a hint of worry in her expression. "Who said anything about having babies with you! But... is there something wrong with us? Should we get checked?"

"No problem!"
