Chapter 23 - Anomaly.

[You have extracted 25 souls.]

[You have gained a new skill.]

[Body armor: This skill allows you to ignore any damage done to your body from sources weaker than you.]

Adonis stood before the dark gorillas, their mincing aura already rivaling his.

Unlike when he extracted the orc's king soul, Adonis didn't get the option to name any of the gorillas.

Which would mean none of the monsters he killed were the boss of the gate.

He sighed, 'This is going to be a long day.'

"Adonis!!!"

Adonis turned around, to see Filo sliding down the terrains with the strange girl in her arms. Although, she didn't seem to be holding her with any bit of care.

Watching them slide down to meet him, made Adonis give out a deadpanish expression.

The only reason Adonis left where the two ladies were discussing was simply because he didn't want to think of why the plot was changing so much.

In the main novel, the witch finds her Dahestero in a dying mansion. The main character was so jealous of that, that he killed both the girl and her Dahestero before she could awaken him.

'Might be why the book got so much hate. But still... I don't want to have to deal with that.'

'Namm!'

The women landed in front of him.

Immediately, the girl grabbed Adonis by the hand again, "Husband, I understand you're confused, it's only normal since you've been in the midst of these humans. I promise I'll bring you back to your senses."

Filo was amazed at how low this girl was willing to go just to make Adonis her husband.

Not wasting any time, she also grabbed Adonis's hand, "Adonis, don't listen to her. She's crazy, you don't want to destroy the world, right?"

Adonis looked at them with eyes filled with pity.

'How gullible can these two be? They are just like two small cats fighting one another.'

He moved his hand away from their grasps, and placed it gently on her head.

"We can settle this later, once we are out of the gate. For now, let's focus on finding the exit before the rest kill off the other boss."

While the girl was simply surprised at how comforting it was to have Adonis pat her on the head, Filo was almost going crazy as her cheeks were all red.

"If you say so." Filo replied calmly.

"Fine." The girl followed.

"Oh and sorry, I didn't get your name." Adonis asked the girl.

Immediately, she placed her hand on her chest, a bold look hitched to her face as she replied, "Veronica Sinclair, your humble and devoted wife!"

'She's still going with the wife uhn, I'll give it some thought once we are out of here.' Adonis said to himself, before he walked away to speak to Yuki.

Meanwhile, Veronica couldn't help but stare at the army of dark gorillas standing very close to her.

"Incredible."

Those words slipped from her mouth.

Arriving towards where Yuki was trying to heal Charles, Adonis spoke,

"Need some help?"

Yuki flinched a bit, turning to look at Adonis, clearly she was sad.

Charles was still lying on the ground, and though his injuries looked to be healed, he still wasn't waking up.

"Mr. Adonis, I thought you left already." Said Yuki, before looking towards the ground.

"Last I checked, we are in the same party. Besides, we already lost important people already, we can't afford to lose any more. If we work together, we can easily get out of here."

"Together... uhn... I think you're too humble Mr. Adonis, you were the one that single handedly took down all the gorilla beasts by yourself."

Adonis simply stood there, saying any more would not necessarily help the issue, so, he changed the topic.

"Can I try?" He pointed at Charles.

Yuki raised her head, her first thought was, 'Are you not a Necromancer? How can you heal him?'

But telling that to Adonis flat out would possibly piss him off.

She stood up and moved to the side, allowing Adonis to stand in front of him.

Staring down at Charles, Adonis whispered in his mind -

'Seems the gorillas can inflict curses into people with their attacks. Once they inflict enough damage, it would be difficult for the person to heal, which should take about a couple of days. We don't have a couple of days. Since I am their king, the curse should have less effect on me.'

[Healer's barrier.]

A bright blue light shone around Adonis's body, his eyes taking on the same glow.

A domain, one that was constantly leaking with mana, healing mana.

Yuki watched with amazement, the beauty of the scenery before her, she had never seen it before.

Inside the domain, blue growing strings began to wrap itself around Charles's body, transferring the glow to his body.

Then,

[Healing has been completed.]

Suddenly, the beautiful light returned to where it had come from.

"He should wake up any second now." Adonis announced with a smile before turning around.

'He... healed him?' Yuki could not believe her eyes.

She's a B rank healer, how could someone who was seen controlling the dead having better healing skills than her.

"You should hurry up and join us. I have already found the gate we need to leave this place. So let me take you there, In case anything were to happen you could easily leave this place."

Yuki gripped her skirt, whether it was the frustration of the reality check, or perhaps she was beating herself up for her incompetence.

It wasn't entirely clear to her.

One thing she did know, was she seriously envied Adonis, as he stood before him, she couldn't help but think.

'Just who the hell is this guy anywhere.'

In truth, what she witnessed was the anomaly of the very world she existed in.
