Chapter 1333: Chapter 1333: So You Mean I’m a Jinx?

Evelyn Taylor’s stubbornness not only gave Harriet White a headache, but Aiden Taylor felt it even more and was especially angry. However, he didn’t rebuke her furiously like before, nor did he lose his temper.

He took a deep breath to calm his anger, then slowly began to speak, "Evelyn! You’re a thirty-year-old woman, not a three-year-old child. You should understand things better. Can you do this for me, please?"

He managed military affairs with ease, but why did dealing with his daughter feel so challenging?

"Dad! I’m begging you too, okay? Can you stop meddling in my affairs, please? Okay?" After Evelyn finished speaking emphatically, she shifted her gaze to Harriet White sitting beside her. "Mom! I’m your daughter. You know better than anyone what kind of person I am. Please stop interfering in my matters; I’ll handle them just fine."

With that, she suddenly stood up from the sofa and walked towards the door of the living room.

Seeing this, Aiden Taylor angrily slapped the sofa beside him, "What nonsensical talk is this! You say you will handle it well, but is this what handling it well looks like?"

He tilted his head to watch his daughter walk out, not showing any emotion on his face.

"What mess have I made?" Evelyn halted abruptly, being about two meters away from where Aiden sat, looking down on her emotionless father.

Aiden was already angry, but Evelyn continued pressing his buttons, which was like adding fuel to the fire, igniting his fury. "Don’t you even know the mess you’ve made? Just stop causing trouble for Thomas, okay? Thomas is..."

"I’m causing trouble for Thomas?! Are you saying I’m a troublemaker?" Evelyn could hardly believe these words came from her father’s mouth. She had always thought she was her parents’ pride, but never imagined her dad saw her as a troublemaker.

Seeing the father-daughter pair on the verge of an argument, Harriet White quickly stood up from the sofa, hurriedly walking to Evelyn’s side, "Evelyn! Is this how you talk to your dad? He only wants what’s best for you."

While speaking, she tugged at her daughter’s sleeve, quietly reminding her not to speak out rashly.

"What did I say wrong? You can say whatever you want about me, but I can’t respond, right?" Evelyn lifted her arm, shaking off the hand holding her sleeve. "I know you both can’t stand me now. Since you find me annoying, I won’t stay here bothering you. Go enjoy whomever you want."

With that, she stormed out of the living room.

"Evelyn! You go..."

"Don’t bother her. She can go wherever she wants."

Seeing Evelyn leave in emotional distress, Harriet worried something might happen and was about to chase after her daughter, but before she could take a step, Aiden sternly stopped her.

Evelyn hadn’t gone far; she heard Harriet and Aiden’s conversation, looked back at her parents in the living room, then resolutely left the house.

Bam!

As she went out the door, she slammed it, venting all her resentment onto the door panel.
