Chapter 1306: Chapter 1306: Blind Date Alliance 4
Halfway through the meal, Thomas Fisher’s phone suddenly rang in his pocket. Hearing the ringtone, he had a hunch that it was a call from his mom.
Just as he suspected, when he took out his phone, it was indeed a call from his mom. In the past, he would have angrily hung up in such situations.
But today, he suddenly didn’t want to do that. He particularly wanted to answer this call from his mom.
"Mom! What’s up?" He already knew what his mom was calling about, but he still asked patiently.
"Are you getting along well with Evelyn?" Autumn York didn’t waste any words and went straight to the point.
Hearing this, Thomas immediately concluded that today’s matchmaking was a setup by both families. However, he wasn’t angry at all; rather, he was quite grateful to both sets of parents. If it weren’t for their careful planning, he’d still be stuck in the frustration of blind dates.
"Mom! You should have told me earlier that my date today was Evelyn, so you wouldn’t have to worry so much." The implication of Thomas’s last sentence was clear: if he was not mistaken, his mom and Evelyn’s mom were probably somewhere nearby, secretly observing their every move.
Whatever they just said and did, he didn’t care what the two moms thought. After all, he and Evelyn had already decided to collaborate, so they were determined to reassure their parents and gain some freedom.
The person on the other end of the line was indeed Thomas’s mom, Autumn York. Having raised him, she may not claim to know him completely, but she was quite confident in her understanding of him.
"So, are you satisfied with Evelyn?" She chose to ignore his sarcasm and pointed remarks; she was only concerned about the outcome of this matchmaking.
"Of course, I’m satisfied!" What Thomas meant by satisfied was entirely different from what Autumn York meant, but he hoped his mom misunderstood him.
As he hoped, his mom did indeed misinterpret his words. However, she didn’t dare to be overly optimistic, thinking it would be so easy to change their relationship.
When she heard Thomas say he was very satisfied, Autumn was quite pleased, but she didn’t continue the conversation. She didn’t want to disturb him and Evelyn while they were dining. "I won’t disturb you and Evelyn now. I’ll hang up."
After saying this, she decisively hung up without waiting for him to say anything.
"How are the two of them getting along? Are they okay?"
After Autumn hung up the phone, Harriet White, who was seated opposite her, immediately asked.
Autumn nodded: "Don’t worry. They already have a good relationship. Now that we’ve brought them together, they’re sure to get along even better."
Getting along better is the result she hoped to see, and it was the original intention behind her actions.
"I hope things develop the way we both want." Harriet, like Autumn, hoped for a swift progression in Thomas and Evelyn’s relationship, in line with what they both desired.
Both of them felt that Thomas and Evelyn were very compatible, so when one suggested it, the other immediately agreed.
The two of them quickly reached an agreement and took action immediately.
