She realized that in the future, she shouldn’t judge unseen people or unknown situations without meeting them firsthand, nor should she listen to gossip.
"Have you and your siblings always been this close?" She decided to treat Ye Qiu better in the future, regarding her as a true sister like Ye Cheng did.
"Yes." Ye Cheng fell into reminiscing, "Back then, the orphanage conditions weren’t great. Several children would share one room. By chance, the Director Mom put the four of us in a room together, maybe it was fate. We were particularly close, truly like siblings."
"Then what happened? Why did you never get adopted?" This was another thing Lee Shishi was curious about, because both her boyfriend and Ye Qiu were smart and attractive people, there’s no reason no one would adopt them.
"Later, some relatives of Second Brother and Little Sister came to find them, wanting to take them home. As for Third Sister and I, we didn’t want to be adopted, so the four of us were split up like this. Despite being apart, our relationship didn’t fade; we’ve kept in touch all these years. Even though you haven’t met them, you should probably have heard about them."
"Oh? I know them?" Lee Shishi was even more curious. How could she know her boyfriend’s siblings from the orphanage?
"I won’t tell you now." Ye Cheng smirked mischievously, "You’ll find out in a few days, let’s keep the mystery for now."
Lee Shishi glared at him but didn’t press further. She only kept thinking, trying to recall which people she knew might be his siblings.
The two laughed and chatted for a while before Lee Shishi got up to see how Ye Qiu was doing in the kitchen. As soon as she walked in, she was enveloped by a rich aroma that brought out the hunger in her stomach.
"Is your mouth watering already? I told you you’d enjoy today’s meal." Ye Cheng said as he leaned against the door frame from behind, "Last year, someone offered US$ 50,000 just to have Third Sister cook a banquet, and the ingredients were provided by them."
Lee Shishi gasped in surprise. She turned to Ye Qiu, seeing that she didn’t deny it and knew she wasn’t being tricked. Her admiration grew even more.
She wondered if she could achieve such excellence if she had been abandoned and orphaned from childhood.
In her heart, she shook her head, knowing it was impossible. She was aware of her own abilities. Even her parents, after so many years of hard work, couldn’t buy a place as large as this shop.
