Chapter 51: [Bonus Chapter] Model / 6.15 : Never let you go
Eden woke up in a good mood. After taking a shower he decided to leave for Atom Tower. As soon as he entered the hall people started to swarm him and take pictures. Eden took a few pictures and entered the elevator. He walked out and ignored the assistant directly entering Kalel’s office. He took a seat in front of the desk and looked at him speaking on the phone. When he hung up Eden just looked at him with a smile. Kalel looked at him suspiciously.
"What?"
"Nothing I just wanted to see you."
Kalel didn’t believe him but he still opened his arms.
Eden stood up and sat on his lap. Kalel kissed him tenderly. He pulled back with a smile.
"How are you?"
"I’m okay. Let’s have dinner together tonight."
"I can’t."
Eden narrowed his eyes.
"Why?"
"I have a late meeting."
Eden stood up but Kalel pulled him back.
He looked away his eyes flashing with frustration. Kalel turned his face.
"It’s just tonight don’t be upset."
It’s not just tonight, it’s already been a week what is he waiting for? He’s not upset about him working late he’s frustrated that he still hasn’t proposed to him. What is he supposed to do write him a big sign? He knows that Kalel has ordered the ring he designed with his father but it’s been a week already and he still hasn’t proposed.
Knowing that Gege’s consciousness is awake and is getting stronger makes him more stressed about the future and it changes things. Before entering this world Gege guided him to a world where they could have a baby as he promised two universes ago. But now that he knows he is waking up he isn’t sure if he should just obliterate his soul once he kills the one who’s done this to him or be with him. He’s starting to have doubts which he hates, before meeting him he was sure about everything and most importantly he never cried or felt anything.
Now he does and it’s still odd and uncomfortable to him. Like the fact that he can’t wait for him to propose is crazy. In his last life, all he cared about was building an empire. It wouldn’t be the first time that Gege proposes but this is the first time his consciousness is awake and that the is aware that he is proposing. While he does he wants to see that sliver of consciousness so he’ll know that Gege falling in love with him is more than luck it’s a choice on his part too.
Plus he wants to get married before he gives birth so he can’t exactly wait forever. Eden stood up and left. When he reached the door he was surprised to see Naomi coming after knocking. She smiled brightly.
"Hey, Eden."
Eden smiled.
"Hey what are you doing here?"
"Kalel wants me to be the ambassador of their new perfume."
Hearing her lie so fast Kalel relaxed and when Eden looked at him he nodded with a smile.
Eden looked at Naomi and then said:
"I should go I’ll see you Monday."
Naomi nodded and closed the door. She looked at Kalel in anger.
"What is wrong with you? Why didn’t you tell me he was here?"
She took a seat in front of the desk.
"Eden came unannounced."
"What happened he seem upset?"
"I know. I’ve been working late those past two days and I told him I’m working late today too."
Naomi looked at him excitedly.
"You’re doing it tonight right?"
Kalel nodded with a smile and Naomi squealed in joy.
Eden walked out of the elevator and got in his car. He checked Versem to see what they were talking about but he couldn’t see Gege. He hates that, sometimes he can see him sometimes he can’t. What he wants to know is if he is doing that on purpose. Either way, he’s annoyed. He left for his father’s sewing workshop and decided to help. He’s not modeling as much now that he is showing so he and his father are working together on a new haute couture clothing line. Enders looked at Eden work in silence for a long time.
He finally took a seat next to him when he couldn’t stand the silence anymore and asked:
"What’s wrong?"
Eden met his eyes then looked away.
"Nothing."
His father is the one who helped Kalel design the ring so there’s no need to tell him.
"Come on tell me."
Eden looked at him and asked:
"Do you think that two people can become tired of each other after being together for a long time?"
Enders thought.
"I do depending on their bond."
"What do you mean?"
"There’s multiple types of love like your first love, the love who turns you into the person you were supposed to be, the love who’s only there to help you get through a period of your life or your true love. If it’s your true love you’ll never get tired of each other."
Eden looked at his father for a long time then asked:
"What if you believe it is but your partner doesn’t believe you’re his true love?"
Since the previous universe, Gege’s consciousness has enough power to make at least small decisions and maybe he doesn’t believe they should marry. That’s why he feels frustrated, he already has doubts about whether he should fight to be with him for eternity, and having Gege doubt too isn’t helping. He just needs to hear some words from him and he’s getting impatient.
Enders said:
"Eden I always thought I knew what true love was but I only found out when we met. The love you and Kalel have for each other is practically palpable, I don’t doubt that he believes you’re his true love."
Eden smiled but his eyes still moistened, Enders hugged him. He’s been feeling emotional since he entered this universe because he is so close to Gege but he still hasn’t given any signs or shown himself which worries him. What if he changed his mind or feel differently? Now that he is pregnant it’s worst. After talking to his father Eden felt better and they worked in a good mood.
At the end of the day, Eden went home. When he entered the house he was surprised to see that it was so dark. He looked in the living room and kitchen but the stuff wasn’t there. Kalel’s ancestral house is ridiculously large you need a full staff every day. He shrugged and decided to get changed and order food. When he arrived on the third floor he stopped in place when he heard the piano. He went to the piano room and when he opened the door he saw Kalel playing his eyes closed.
Eden felt his heart beating faster when he recognized the symphony. This is the melody he wrote called The Wanderer in the first universe he was in after being free. He was inspired by Chen and how he made him feel warmth for the first time. Eden looked at Gege as tears fell on his face. When he finished playing Gege looked up and met Eden’s eyes. Eden distinctly saw the sliver of consciousness.
He stood up and walked toward him. He knelt and asked opening a velvet box:
"Will you marry me, Eden?"
Eden felt unable to say a word so he nodded. Gege smiled and pushed the ring around his finger. He stood up and kissed him tenderly. He pulled back and promised:
"I’ll never let you go."
When Eden saw that the sliver of consciousness was still there he jumped in his arms crying. Gege held onto him.
"I love you."
"I love you more Gege."
Eden finally felt his heart settle. Now he knows that Gege wants to be with him even when he is free. It’s kinda been eating at him since he entered this universe. He knows that he only did this to reassure him because it must’ve taken a lot to stay for so long and he appreciates that. Eden pulled back and met his eyes.
When he saw that the main consciousness was gone he wasn’t disappointed because he finally has the answer to his question. Kalel wiped his tears.
"I’m sorry I’ve been working so much I’ll ease off."
"I wasn’t upset about that."
Kalel looked at him surprised.
"I knew you had a ring."
Kalel narrowed his eyes.
"How long?"
"A week."
Kalel chuckled, so that’s why he’s been so moody. He thought it was because he is pregnant.
"I’m sorry I had this music stuck in my head and I wanted to perfect it for the proposal. It’s like I had this voice inside of me telling me to play it."
Kalel’s eyes softened when he looked into Eden’s shiny eyes. He could feel how happy he was which only confirmed that he was right to wait until he could play the music perfectly. He’s been rehearsing those past ten days and it was worth it.
Eden kissed him and wrapped his arms around his neck. He pulled back and swore:
"I’ll never let you go."
