Chapter 248: Heretic / 1.9 : His bottom line
Serena and Cayus immediately stood up and looked at Kian wide-eyed. Cayus said:
"Kian calm down."
Between his power as a witch and his strong essence, it was practically impossible to breathe. It was clear as day that he had been triggered. The queen looked at the servants and saw that they had a hard time breathing.
She ordered:
"Leave."
Once they were gone, the guards closed the doors.
Kian’s eyes were red as he looked at his aunt Aurelia. He asked:
"What did you just say?"
Aurelia looked into his eyes, but only saw darkness.
She said with difficulty:
"Kian, I was just trying to look out for you."
Kian smiled darkly.
"If you or anyone, dares to mention my mother again, I’ll rip you apart. Is that clear?"
In this universe, his mother Lillian was like his mother. They had the same personality and they both loved him more than anyone. He has all the feelings he had from this previous life so, of course, he loves Lillian.
His aunt is poisoning him, and she dares mention his sweet and loving mother. He thought that it would be easy to pretend, but knowing that it was his previous life makes it that much harder.
He can accept a lot, but he’ll never accept anyone talking badly about his mother, previous life or not. Aurelia immediately nodded in fear. Kian dropped her and she fell to the ground. She looked at him stunned.
Kian turned around and looked at the king and queen apologetically.
"I’m sorry I ruined breakfast."
Arabella stood up and hugged him. She could tell that he still hurts after losing his mother, it isn’t surprising. If it isn’t bad enough, he is dying. She can’t even imagine what he must be going through.
Kian closed his eyes for a second, trying to calm down. Arabella pulled back and he met her eyes. She smiled reassuringly.
"It’s okay, you must be under a lot of stress."
Kian swallowed, he felt that looking at Arabella only made it worst. She looks so much like his mother. When he looked away, she asked:
"What’s wrong?"
Kian looked down and murmured:
"You... Remind me of her."
Arabella felt heartbroken hearing that.
Lucian stood up and grabbed Kian’s hand. He looked at his mother and said:
"We’ll have breakfast in his chambers."
Arabella nodded.
"I’ll have someone bring the food."
Lucian nodded and left with Kian.
Aurelia, who was still on the floor, looked at her husband furiously, and he ran to help her up. She’s never been this humiliated in her entire life. Arabella asked:
"Are you alright?"
Aurelia touched her red neck and nodded. Her eyes moistened as she said:
"I can’t believe Kian would act this way. I’ve been taking care of him since he’s been sick, and this is how he thanks me?"
Arabella took a seat and said:
"He’s young, he just wants to act like every kid his age and not have someone tell him what he can, and can’t do."
"I’m trying to make sure he has more time."
Arabella asked:
"What’s the point of having more time If you can’t do anything?"
Aurelia forced herself to calm down and took a seat. Who does that bloodsucker think she is to even weigh in on the subject? Arabella looked at the three maids and gave them food to bring upstairs.
Kian entered his chambers and took a seat on the couch in silence. The excitement and happiness he felt when he entered this universe are gone. He has so many feelings in him from different universes, that it’s crushing him.
He took a breath to calm down, this is too overwhelming. Lucian pulled him into his embrace and caressed his back. Kian buried his face in his chest and closed his eyes. Lucian held him tighter when he felt his shirt dampen.
When someone knocked and entered, Kian didn’t move, and after they dropped the food they left. Once he calmed down, he pulled back and looked at Lucian. He wiped his tears and asked:
"Are you okay?"
Kian nodded. He looked at Lucian, not sure how to feel. He truly doesn’t understand how he can be so nice when he is from that kind of universe. The kind that was created to make him suffer.
It does feel good to have a friend. Someone who will always be there for him and have his back. He grabbed his chopsticks and said:
"If you want to have breakfast with your family, you should go."
Lucian looked at him and said:
"I’m not going to leave you when you’re upset."
Kian looked at him for a second, then looked at his plate and ate. Lucian grabbed his chopsticks and the two ate in silence.
Serena looked at her mother as she walked out of the elevator furiously. When they entered her parent’s bedroom, Aurelia grabbed the vase and threw it in anger against the wall. Cayus took a seat on the bed and simply looked at her.
Aurelia said through greeted teeth:
"Kian refused me and laid a hand on me! And to think that that bloodsucking bitch dared to tell me what to do!"
Cayus said:
"You need to calm down, they’ll be our in law in less than a month."
Aurelia yelled:
"I don’t give a damn. Didn’t you see how they all looked at Kian? It was as though he was the victim in all this."
Serena said:
"Lucian even left with him. And you felt his power, he is even more powerful than we thought."
Cayus looked at his daughter and then down. He knows, he can’t believe how powerful heretics are. At least something good will come out of it, and Serena will gain his power.
Aurelia said:
"I’ll talk to the doctor, to get something that will knock him out even though he ingested blood."
Cayus said:
"Even if you have something, Kian won’t listen to you after you mentioned his mother. It seems like it’s the only thing he won’t stand."
Aurelia looked down, thinking.
