Chapter 203: ABO / 5.14 : Moving in
Damian woke up and looked at his baby. He couldn’t stop himself from smiling. Now that they are bonded he knows that they’ll stay together forever. Even if he trusts Atlas he had this fear that he might leave him someday.
One of the people he trusted most abused then betrayed him so he doesn’t have much faith in people. Ever since that he never met anyone who made him want to be together, he didn’t even want to have one night stand that’s how closed off he was.
But as soon as he saw Atlas he knew that he would do anything to make him his. Not only does he feel the same but he cares for his son too. If it wasn’t for Atlas he would’ve never known how much pain Jacob was in.
He believed he resented and hated him when he just kept everything in, In that way Jacob is unfortunately like him. They both kept it in and he felt heartbroken when he saw how upset he was.
He’ll be a better father and show him that his words didn’t fall on deaf ears. He loves that he cares about Atlas, he was worried he might keep his distance just because Elwyn hates him but he cares more about him and his happiness.
He saw the conversation Atlas had with Jacob and he was touched. He thought he hated him yet he still did everything to protect him. He is his father he should be the one to protect him and he will.
He feels nervous though, he would like to have another child but he’s sure that’s not what Atlas wants. After he told him about his nightmares he knew that just the idea of Atlas being pregnant might trigger him.
He feels that if they had a child together the four of them will be a family. They already are but it would complete it. He’ll try to bring in the subject slowly and if Atlas doesn’t want to then he’ll accept his choice.
When he felt Atlas move he caressed his cheek with a tender smile. Atlas opened his eyes and looked at his Er-Ge. That man loves to look at him sleep it’s insane.
He asked:
"Did you sleep okay?
Damian nodded with a smile and Atlas smiled back. He stood up and pulled him to the shower.
When they finished they dressed and left for the dining room. When they entered they saw that Jacob was already there. Damian took a seat at the head of the table and Atlas on his left.
He smiled at Jacob. Jacob gave him a knowing look with a smirk. When Atlas’ cheeks reddened Jacob and Damian laughed. Atlas narrowed his eyes at the two.
Jacob’s eyes flashed in amusement. He finds it funny that Atlas looks so uncomfortable when he’s usually so confident. He’s happy he and his father have bonded. Atlas makes him happy and that’s all that matters to him.
Furthermore, he brings them closer together and he’s grateful for that. He never thought in a million years that things would turn out this way.
When he told Elwyn that his father was cold and that doesn’t love him he said that it was his loss and that he’ll show him how much better than him he is.
He basically wanted him to get revenge but when he said that to Atlas he immediately said it was not the case and encourage him to open up.
He looked down with a frown. He’s been having doubts about Elwyn especially since he asked for the ring. He told him how much his grandmother meant to him but he still asked for it.
What angers him the most is that he didn’t even care to ask about what it meant to his grandma and why his grandpa got it for him. It’s clear that he doesn’t care that it’s a family heirloom.
He just wants the world to know that he has the famous green emerald ring. He looked up when Atlas asked:
"Are you okay?"
Jacob answered:
"I’m fine I was just thinking about Elwyn."
Damian asked:
"Did something happen?"
Jacob felt happy to hear his father ask, he said that he’ll be better and he believes him.
"When the contract was changed he told me that he wanted the ring I had given to Atlas and I gave it to him but yesterday he told me that he wants the green emerald."
Damian smirked.
"He does?"
Atlas’ eyes flashed in amusement at Damian’s face. Jacob was smiling too like Elwyn asking for it was a funny joke.
"He said that he wants everyone to know that the reason we are together is that we love each other not because of a contract."
Atlas said:
"The contract won’t matter soon."
"What do you mean?"
Atlas said:
"I decided to sell my newest project under Cian Cube. I’m done working at Nye Games, I decided to work with Cian Cube and create games exclusively for them."
Jacob’s eyes lit up.
"Seriously?"
Atlas nodded with a smile. Jacob asked:
"Isn’t the VR headset and Universum licensed and patented under Nye Games? If they paid for the creation they’ll never let you go and sue you."
Atlas said:
"It’s patented and licensed under Atlas. I didn’t even put the last name Nye because I don’t want anything to do with them anymore that’s why I didn’t use a cent of their money. I kept every receipt in case they try to take me to court."
Jacob looked at Atlas stunned, it seems like he thought about everything. He understands why he would feel the need to leave after Elwyn took his place as the heir but it almost looks like he thinks they’ll go after him.
He asked:
"Are you just leaving because Elwyn was named the new heir?"
Atlas said:
"That I could’ve let it go but they expected me to do everything I did before while Elwyn takes credit for it. For example, Extinct’s presentation for the board of directors should’ve been done by me since I’m the one who created the game but my father told me to write the presentation and rehearse it with Elwyn so it goes perfectly."
Jacob frowned, he would never accept that. Atlas continued:
"When I told my father that I won’t do it he said that he had no choice and that the contract said that the only way Damian will agree is if you marry the heir of Nye Games. I proposed that he makes us copresident that way he would still be respecting the terms of the marriage contract but he refused."
It’s true that if Atlas was made co-president the contract would be respected and Atlas would still have the same status he had. Jacob asked:
"Why did he refuse?"
"Because he said that it wouldn’t be fair. To them what’s fair is me slaving off for Nye Games and making it what it is today and letting someone who hates video games run it."
Jacob tilted his head.
"So you know that Elwyn hates video games."
"Of course I do."
Jacob asked:
"Then why did you pretend to believe him when we had dinner and apologized to your parents?"
Atlas said:
"They’re not my parents and I only did because I planned on leaving. Because I refused to do everything Elwyn was supposed to do without the title Ludek and Mircea said that they’ll wait until I’m done with the VR headset and the game so they can toss me out of the house and fire me. They just wanted my latest project so they can make millions off of me again. Elwyn went to cry to them so they chose between us and of course as they said I’m not part of the family so it was an easy choice."
Jacob was speechless, even if he knew that Elwyn was jealous he didn’t think he would go as far as to have him tossed out of the house.
He understood why he wanted him to propose in front of everyone and have the family dinner but not this.
He reckoned that Elwyn felt that everyone believed they were only together because of the contract so he wanted to prove to them that they love each other but the truth is that he wants Atlas out of the picture.
He doesn’t get how Mircea and Ludek can be stupid enough to let him go and they even dare to steal his latest creation before that.
Damian frowned, he laced his hands with Atlas. He knew that he wanted to leave but he didn’t tell him why. He knew that his losing his place as the heir must have played a part but this is way worse than he thought.
Not only did they plan on tossing him out but steal his hard work too. Atlas smiled reassuringly at his Er-Ge.
"It’s fine, if Elwyn never came I would still believe that they loved me when they only ever appreciated me for what I brought them."
Jacob asked:
"When are you going to tell them you’re leaving the company?"
"I’ll be done with them tonight."
Jacob asked:
"Then you’ll stay here right?"
Atlas looked into Jacob’s excited eyes but said:
"I’ll just stay at a hotel until I buy a house."
Jacob frowned.
"Why would you do that when you can move here?"
When Atlas looked at him unsure he realized that he was butting in, his father should probably be the one to invite him to stay here.
It just makes sense since they are bonded and he like Atlas staying with them. He thought that it would be a little awkward since they were engaged but it feels natural and the air is lighter.
He looked at his father as if to say what are you waiting for and Damian looked at Atlas.
"Will you move here?"
Atlas smiled and answered:
"I will since Jacob invited me to."
Jacob and Damian smiled.
Even if Atlas knew that Jacob wasn’t a bad person and that he would come to get along with him he didn’t think it would go as well as it is. He knows that he won’t say anything to Elwyn that’s why he doesn’t mind telling him the truth.
Jacob worked hard even if Damian was always going to give him Cian Cube so he knew that he would see how wrong his so-called family and Elwyn are acting. He’s happy with how things are going so of course he’ll move in.
