Chapter 197: ABO / 5.8 : The three narcissist
Mircea looked at Atlas in shock. All babies look alike it’s not like it’s his fault that the nurse mixed the babies. He hugged Elwyn and patted his back. Not only are they going to throw Atlas out but they’re going to make him pay.
Jacob looked at Atlas and saw that even if he said what he said he looked sad like he is used to being the odd one out. He always saw things from Elwyn’s perspective but it must also be hard on Atlas.
He worked hard for Nye Game and now someone who has no knowledge of the field is taking his title. He would never accept working hard and having someone else take credit.
He looked at Elwyn who had resumed eating. The entire table was silent after what had transpired.
Damian reached out and caressed his baby’s head. Atlas looked at his Er-Ge and smiled.
"I missed you Er-Ge."
Damian smiled and his eyes softened.
"I missed you too."
Atlas doesn’t care about anything as long as he has this person at his side. He’s the only one who matters to him. Jacob looked at Atlas’ soft eyes for his father and frowned.
When Atlas felt Jacob’s eyes on him he asked:
"Which one of my games is your favorite?"
Jacob was surprised but he smiled.
"I like Bullet Train."
Atlas asked:
"Why?"
"I love first-person shooter games and I don’t like when the open world is too big. I liked that all the players were on a moving train, it made it more exciting."
Atlas smiled.
"I do too I don’t like when the world is too big too or I get impatient and bored quickly that’s why I made it that way."
He asked:
"Since you’re done with Extinct what are you working on?"
"It’s an Fps Vr game with multiple worlds."
Jacob’s eyes lit up.
"Seriously you figured out the technology?"
"I did, the headset and controllers are done I only have to finish the game."
He asked:
"What is it called?"
"Universum since they are multiple universes with different backgrounds."
Jacob smiled.
"That’s amazing I can’t wait to play it."
Atlas smiled.
"I’ll let you demo it first if you want when I’m done."
Jacob looked at Atlas with shiny eyes and said:
"That would be amazing."
Elwyn looked at Jacob and swallowed. He’s already pissed that he gave him a used engagement ring and now he’s talking to Atlas when he just insulted him. Is he invisible?
They’re here to celebrate their engagement not listened to that nerd Atlas. Trying to make up for what happened before he smiled and asked:
"Can I demo it too?"
Atlas nodded.
"Sure I just thought you didn’t like video games that’s why I didn’t offer."
Ludek looked at Atlas and realized something. He asked:
"Atlas have you been thinking all along that Elwyn hates video games?"
Atlas nodded. Ludek and Mircea looked at each other finally understanding why he’s been acting out. Atlas didn’t like that someone who hate the field was coming and taking his place.
They know that Atlas doesn’t like to take center stage so they didn’t think he would be this upset about him not being the heir anymore. But what truly bothered him was thinking that Elwyn hates video games.
Elwyn seemed to understand the same and said:
"I do like them."
Atlas looked at him surprised.
Mircea, Ludek, and Elwyn relaxed when they saw that the whole problem came from that.
Atlas said:
"I thought you didn’t like them so I couldn’t understand why you would want to be in that field. When I was teaching you looked bored and annoyed."
Jacob looked at Atlas. He can’t believe he was helping Elwyn learn when he took his place as the heir. Honestly, he could never have the patience and calm Atlas has. He would never do what he does.
It makes him feel complicated because even if he loves Elwyn he would never accept his behavior.
He knows he doesn’t like video games since he told him and it seems like they are tricking Atlas so he won’t be angry anymore and say the truth.
Elwyn said:
"I was just stressed and I didn’t want to disappoint you."
"As long as you try hard you won’t disappoint me."
Elwyn smiled and he smiled back. Elwyn almost laughed seeing how naive Atlas is. Ludek was over the moon hearing that. Since the whole problem has been settled they’ll be able to keep Atlas.
He wants him to create more than one game for the VR headset. He can already count the amount of money they’ll make.
Atlas looked at Mircea then away uncomfortably. Mircea could tell he felt sorry for his behavior, he smiled and said:
"It’s okay Atlas I know that you’re on edge with work and all the changes but we’re family so we’ll never give up on you."
Atlas smiled and his eyes moistened. When Mircea saw how touched he was he felt a little stunned. Ever since Atlas was little he didn’t show many emotions.
He would spend his time working on project after project so when he found out that Elwyn was his son and he saw how sensitive he was he was happy because he needed his emotional help.
He always felt like Atlas didn’t appreciate or need him but right now he looks the same way he did when he was a baby. He would look at him with wet eyes and he could feel how much he needed him.
He wants to see emotions on his face, not passivity like he doesn’t feel anything for him. He thought that after finding out he was switched at birth he would show how grateful he was but he never did.
Atlas said:
"I’m sorry I was so mean. I won’t act that way again I promise."
When Mircea saw the pleading look in his eyes he nodded with a bright smile. If Atlas keeps acting this way he’ll have no problem keeping him.
Atlas smiled and resumed eating. He’s never met such egocentric, egotistical, narcissistic people as Mircea, Ludek, and Elwyn. He’ll let them believe they are in control for now then he’ll crush them into ashes.
Damian looked at Atlas and his eyes flashed in amusement. Atlas is like a cat playing with mice. Jacob looked at his father then at Atlas.
