Chapter 189: Vampire / 4.16 : The most fulfilling life
Yawen gaped at Yuning. When he woke up from his stupor he asked:
"Your majesty, what are you talking about?"
Atlas asked:
"Wasn’t he clear? Your family will be dethroned and the Lan will rule in your stead."
Yawen hissed:
"Shut up!"
He looked at Yuning and saw that his eyes were dark. When he felt his overbearing essence he took a step back in fear.
"Speak correctly to my beloved unless you want to lose your head."
The entire room shuddered and swore that they’ll never disrespect Atlas. Yawen looked at Yuning confused. Why would he dethrone his family and why isn’t the needle working on Yuning?
He looked around for Xinzhi but still couldn’t see him. Atlas asked:
"Do you want me to get Xinzhi?"
Yawen frowned, before he could answer Atlas had already flown out of the room and came back holding something. When he tossed at his feet what he had been carrying he took a few steps back horrified and fell.
Yawen started to hyperventilate as he looked at his brother’s dead body. It was drained of blood and you could tell he had suffered. Tears ran down his face.
He was the last family member he had but now he is gone just like his mother and father.
He yelled at Atlas who had a smile on his face.
"How could you kill him after everything he’s done for you!"
Atlas chuckled.
"You and your family got me out of the orphanage to experiment on me. When your mother died XInzhi said that he would free me but he continued to experiment on me. When you got rid of all the evidence of your mother performing experiments on me and vampires and he lied to me so I would become the offering and die. Is that what you meant by everything he’s done for me?"
Yawen immediately looked at Yuning.
"I swear your majesty this isn’t..."
Yawen stopped when he recognized a voice. He turned around and saw that it was his mother. There was a projection on the wall. You could see his mother talking to the camera while he pulled organs out of a screaming vampire.
Everyone looked at it horrified. When the video finished they looked at Yawen in shock.
Atlas said:
"You and your family are hypocrites. You keep preaching love and kindness yet you have an underground laboratory where you do those kinds of things."
Yawen looked at Yuning crying and said:
"Your majesty I’ve never done any of this I swear."
"I know you didn’t you just covered for them this is why I let it go."
Yawen felt a little relieved hearing that. He swallowed and said:
"All I want is to be a good king to the humans. I never liked what my mother was doing this is why I stopped it all when she died."
"I know."
Yawen let out a relieved breath and felt like he could breathe again. He just lost his brother he can’t be killed or thrown in prison for that. Right now he needs to convince the emperor to keep him as the king.
He said:
"Your majesty I swear I’ll do everything in my power to make up for all the bad my family has done just give me a chance to prove to you that I am the rightful king."
He saw Yuning thinking and felt his heartbeat quicken, at least he isn’t completely closed off.
Atlas asked:
"Was it also your family’s mistake to sleep with the twins so they would kill Tan and Yuning and name you their empress?"
Yawen looked at Atlas wide-eyed. How does he know? Atlas stood up and grabbed something out of his pocket before he could stop him. Atlas opened the box and looked at the needle.
Atlas smiled:
"Did you think my Er-Ge would fall in love with you with this?"
Hearing that Yawen knew that he was done.
Atlas said:
"The good thing about growing up in that laboratory is that I learned a lot that’s how I was able to create a protection for my Tan and Yuning. There’s nothing anyone can do to take them away from me."
Yuning and Tan couldn’t stop themselves from smiling. Yawen knew that he would die so he said:
"They’ll die 700 years before you so you won’t spend eternity with them."
Atlas smirked.
"If your mother was capable to create a potion to make a vampire’s essence burn faster do you think I wouldn’t be able to do one to slow it down?"
Yawen who had an arrogant smile a few seconds ago looked down defeated. Not only did he lose Xinzhi but Atlas and Tan are safe and they’ll be together with Yuning for eternity.
It’s not fair he should be in Atlas’ stead. Why has god forsaken him? He didn’t react when he felt the guards lift him to bring him to prison. He cried silent tears as he was taken away.
Atlas spent the rest of his life with Yuning and Tan. Yawen was executed and the Lan became the royal family. Atlas helped Yuning hold a tighter ship when it came to the humans.
Later on Tan became emperor and he was just as amazing as Yuning. Atlas and Yuning traveled all over the world. They would come back twice a year to see Tan but they spoke to him at least three times a week.
They were over the moon when Tan got engaged and they came back to participate in the festivity. His wife gave birth to a son who called Atlas and Yuning grandpa and Atlas felt stunned.
He fell in love with his grandson as he fell in love with Tan. When he arrived in Versal for the first time he cried. Usually, when he would leave the universe he would be okay but this universe was different.
He had a family, Tan was like his son and he had a grandson. This has been the most fulfilling life he’s ever experienced.
His heart ached as he waited to receive all the power. When it was done he closed his eyes and only opened them 300 years later.
Atlas looked around, he seemed to be searching for something. He floated toward a yellow planet and reached out for it with an eager smile.
