Chapter 156: Celebrity / 2.22 : Forgiving
Atlas smiled and said:
"I am."
Dawei started to breathe louder. All this time he thought that Atlas was this naive and sweet person but he is a heartless and vicious monster.
"Do you realize what you’ve done? She’ll spend the next 20 years in prison."
Atlas said:
"She won’t I plan to make sure she dies there."
Dawei took a step back in fear.
Even if Atlas wants to get revenge why would he agree to pay him 20 million? With it, he can leave the country and get as far away as possible from him.
He frowned and looked at his bank application and saw that he only had 2000 in his account and that the money was wired by Atlas. He asked:
"Where’s the rest of my money?"
Atlas raised an eyebrow.
"What are you talking about?"
Dawei yelled:
"I agree to sell you the house for 20 million, not 2000."
Atlas asked:
"Didn’t your mother teach you to always read an agreement in full before signing it?"
Sicheng and Shuyuan couldn’t stop themselves from smiling.
Dawei looked at the pdf agreement on his cellphone and turned the pages until he reached the part about payment. It said that if he was to sign the agreement that very day Atlas would pay him 2000 but if he waited a week he would get 20 million.
Anyone in his place would’ve waited a week but he wasn’t aware of that clause in the agreement. Now not only does he not have a home anymore but he only has 2000 in his bank account. He can’t pay for his mother to have the best lawyer and Atlas said that he’ll make sure she dies in prison and he believes him.
Knowing he had no choice he said:
"Just tell me what you want me to do and I will so you can stop."
Atlas said:
"There’s nothing you can do. I’ve released tapes of you and your mother abusing me, now no one will hire you so you won’t have any way to gain money. I also count on my fans to make your life even more difficult."
Dawei looked at him pleadingly as tears ran down his face.
"I’m so sorry please forgive me, I don’t have anywhere to go."
When Atlas had nowhere to go they didn’t let him stay at their house so why should he care? He looked at his guards and they tossed him out as he kept begging for forgiveness.
When he couldn’t hear his irritating voice anymore he looked at Sicheng. Shuyuan stood up and said before leaving:
"I’ll let you two talk."
Atlas looked at him leave then he looked down. Sicheng sat closer to him and gazed at him.
"I’m sorry Atlas."
Atlas looked up and asked:
"For what?"
Sicheng said::
"For lying to you and approaching under false pretense. I know that it was wrong but in the end, I was glad I did because I got to spend time with you and love you. I swear I had given up on asking you to help Yinglun and even if you would’ve refused I would make sure you would stay in my life."
Atlas asked:
"When did you decide you wouldn’t ask me anymore?"
"Do you remember the night I found you at the studio still working despite the late hour?"
Atlas nodded.
Sicheng said:
"That morning I still planned to ask you but when I saw you sitting alone in the studio I knew that it was too big of a risk to take. I always thought that even if you refused I would still want to have a relationship with you. But I could lose you if you refused to forgive me for trying to use you and I couldn’t have that. I wanted you to become my son that’s why I invited you at Christmas dinner not to ask you to help Yinglun."
Atlas was stunned, this was early on.
"Then why were you so scared to see me leave?"
"Because when I saw the disappointment and resentment in your eyes I feared that you would never forgive me."
Sicheng said:
"Even before I found out you were my son I could feel this strong bond between us and I wish I didn’t approach you under the circumstances I did. I love you so much and I don’t want us to be strangers. Atlas I would do anything for you but I can’t stay away from you. Please don’t ask me to never speak to you again or act like we don’t know each other."
Atlas’s eyes moistened and he asked:
"Where’s Yinglun?"
Sicheng looked at Atlas nervously.
"I killed her."
"Why?"
Sicheng said:
"I spoke to her to see how far she would be willing to go and I didn’t like what I heard. There was never a choice between you and her."
More tears ran on Atlas’ face.
"You really hurt me."
SIcheng swallowed and said:
"I know I’m so sorry Atlas. I’ll spend the rest of my life making up to you I promise."
Sicheng moved closer and wiped his tears.
"Please forgive me."
He hugged Atlas and he hugged him back.
Sicheng felt like he could finally breathe again. He was petrified at the idea of not having Atlas in his life anymore. Atlas pulled back and looked into his father’s emotional eyes. His relief for being forgiven was practically palpable.
Atlas spent the rest of his life with Shuyuan. Thanks to his amazing performance in the Emperor’s prisoner he won multiple awards and the recognition of his peers.
He became an actor full time but every year he would release a song for his fans. He and Shuyuan were called the royal couple after they married. Atlas was glad he forgave his father when he saw him sitting in the front row during the wedding.
Their relationship only grew closer over the years. As Atlas had told Dawei Yishang died in prison during a fight. Dawei was unable to have her buried because he had no money.
After the tapes of him and his mother abusing Atlas went viral he lost his contract with the agency and he couldn’t get any job. Everywhere he went he would get beat up by Atlas’ fans. He lived on the streets until he couldn’t take it anymore and killed himself.
Atlas kissed Shuyuan’s forehead and left for Versal. When he had received all the power he closed his eyes and only opened them 15 years later. He looked at all the planets and floated toward a yellow one and disappeared with a smile.
