Chapter 148: Celebrity / 2.14 : The unloved child
Yishang knocked and then entered her son’s room when she couldn’t hear sounds. He was sitting on his bed using his computer. She took a seat and said:
"Dawei mother knows you are angry but I only wanted to protect you. I’ve received the money and a friend of mine told me to invest in the company of his friend. In a month we’ll have five times what we invested. I’ll be able to get you anything you want."
Dawei looked at her furiously and asked
"Do you think I give a damn about that? You lied to me about our financial situation and went to ask Atlas for money when you know how much I loathe him."
"Mother only did this to protect you."
Dawei howled:
"I don’t need you to protect me I need you to tell me the truth. Do you even know how humiliated I was when Atlas said that he’ll lend us the money in front of Shuyuan? Now I have to see them both at work tomorrow."
Yishang stood up and yelled out of patience:
"I don’t care about your silly problems, do you know how hard I’ve been working to give you a perfect life? How can you be so selfish and not see everything I’ve done for you? Whatever you wanted I gave you and you can’t even be understanding and see how hard this whole thing was for me?"
Dawei looked at his mother stunned, he’s never seen her angry. He looked down feeling guilty, now he understands why she was so upset that her jewelry was stolen. He stood up and said:
"I’m sorry."
Yishang sighed and said:
"It’s okay just don’t forget what I do for you anymore."
"I won’t I promise I was just angry because of Shuyuan and took it out on you."
"I don’t even understand why you’re so focused on him, you deserve better than him. Plus you’ve seen him he is cold and unfeeling all he cares about is his career."
Dawei looked down thinking. He said:
"You’re right I’ll focus on someone else like Xinyu and I’m sure Atlas will lose it since they are back together."
Yishang smiled, and she put a hand on his shoulder.
"In a month I promise I’ll get rid of him for good when we receive all the money we earned."
Dawei hugged his mother with a smile.
Shuyuan woke up and looked at the person he was holding. He isn’t surprised that Atlas is still asleep after the night he had. He never felt so helpless in his entire life, Sicheng broke his heart and Atlas was inconsolable.
He got in the car before it left and saw that Atlas was crying. He told the driver to drive him to his house and the entire way he was still in tears. He carried him upstairs and after helping him shower and change he got him in bed.
He held in his arms as he cried most of the night. He just wanted to take the pain away but couldn’t. He heard his conversation with Sicheng so he knows why he is so upset.
He always knew that Yinglun was nothing good but he didn’t know she was evil. She had Sicheng’s son and never told him and tossed Atlas in an orphanage without telling him.
If that wasn’t bad enough she didn’t even make sure Atlas would be safe in that orphanage. When Atlas fell asleep he found out information and saw articles written about what happened.
They were even videos showing how mistreated the children were. Atlas went through hell in the orphanage and even after when Yishang fostered him. Despite that, he still worked hard to make his dream come true.
He must’ve known that Sicheng was his father that’s why he still had a relationship with him even if he knew his end goal. He can still picture his face when he saw Yinglun.
He believes Sicheng when he said that he wasn’t planning on going through with the plan anymore but it will be hard to convince Atlas. He doesn’t doubt that Sicheng loves and would want him in his life but it’s up to Atlas if he wants that or not.
All he hopes is that Sicheng will be smart enough to make Yinglun pay for everything she’s done. He really hopes she won’t manipulate him. When he felt Atlas moving he caressed his cheek.
Atlas opened his eyes and immediately sat up. Shuyuan sat up and asked:
"Are you okay?"
Atlas ignored him and after sending a text he stood up and walked to the walk-in closet to get changed.
Shuyuan followed him and watched him getting changed in a hurry. He walked closer and said:
"Atlas you don’t have to leave. You..."
Shuyuan stopped talking when Atlas looked at him darkly.
Atlas said:
"I don’t want to stay or talk. I just need to go home so leave me alone okay."
Atlas finished dressing and put all his belongings in his bag. He locked himself in the bathroom and after washing his face and brushing his teeth he went to get his bag.
He picked up when his cellphone rang.
"I’ll be right there."
He left the room ignoring Shuyuan and left.
Shuyuan looked at the car leave. He can tell Atlas feels uncomfortable having spent most of the night crying in his arms but it’s ridiculous. He wants Atlas to trust him enough to be vulnerable.
Atlas arrived home and got into bed again. He is such a fool, he can’t believe how still naive he is. How could Sicheng not feel that he is his son? Atlas sighed and decided to sleep again. He’s so done having hope.
Eden close the screen and looked at Cael. He raised an eyebrow with a cocky smile.
"Didn’t I tell you all he does is put a front?"
Cael said:
"It’s still early we’ll see."
Eden said:
"Atlas hasn’t had anyone who cared for him and even if he acts tough I know that he hurts every time something like that happens. He cried all night after what happened with Sicheng when before he told me he was afraid of what he might do to him. He’s still this unloved child who wants to feel the love of his parents."
Cael leaned back on his chair.
"Yeah but sometimes when you get hurt enough you become numb and that’s dangerous. If you don’t feel anything why would you care about destroying everything that stands in your path?"
Eden sat on his lap and circled his neck.
"As you said it’s still early so we’ll see."
