Chapter 147: Celebrity / 2.13 : Dinner of actor

Atlas who was listening almost burst out laughing. The reason why Dawei was so taken with him is that when he visited the orphanage he asked Atlas for a toy and he gave it to him.

Everything he would tell him to do he would because the director of the orphanage said that they would get beaten worst than usual if they didn’t make the sponsor of the orphanage and her son happy.

The kids there lived in terrible conditions, all the money went to the director and his staff. That’s why as soon as he entered this universe he had the orphanage shut and the director and all his accomplices thrown in prison.

He plans on making sure they all die there for the way they treated him.

Shuyuan asked:

"Have you been back there since Atlas moved with your family?"

Dawei said:

"Of course, I always give back as much as I can even for Atlas’ sake."

"When was the last time you were there?"

They all looked at Atlas who seemed okay again. Atlas took his seat and looked at Dawei. Dawei said

"A couple of weeks ago I made a huge donation."

"The orphanage I was in?"

Dawei nodded.

"Of course, I told you I would always make sure the kids there had everything they would need."

Atlas tilted his head.

"That’s weird because the orphanage was destroyed a month ago."

Dawei said:

"I’m sure you are mistaken."

"I’m not there was a new buyer."

Dawei looked at Atlas annoyed and asked:

"How do you even know what the buyer did with it?"

Atlas said expressionlessly:

"Because I was the buyer."

They all looked at Atlas surprised. What kind of psycho buys the orphanage that took care of him when he was a kid and destroys it?

Yinglun felt like it would be the perfect way to show Sicheng that Atlas isn’t the perfect angel he thinks he is.

When she saw the concern in his eyes when he left she started to worry that he might not go through with it and she’ll end up dying before she can found another match.

Yinglun looked at Atlas sadly and asked:

"Atlas how could you destroy a place that took you in when your parents didn’t want you? What about all the kids there did you even think about them?"

Atlas almost applauded Yinglun. His mother is certainly a good actress, she even managed to cry like she could feel the pain of the orphans.

Atlas looked at Sicheng to see his reaction. He looked sad for his wife and he was waiting for an explication from Atlas.

Even if he didn’t want to be disappointed Atlas was. Sicheng should know better. How can he not feel that he is his son and that his wife is the evil one?

Atlas looked at her and asked coldly:

"Why are you even crying? Did you know those orphans?"

Yinglun looked at Atlas wide-eyed.

She asked as more tears ran down her face:

"Atlas how can you be so cold-hearted?"

When Atlas saw Sicheng reaching out to hold his wife’s hand Atlas had enough and decided it was time to go.

He chuckled and said:

"I think I turned out decent after everything the director and the staff there put me through. The day I left I swore that when I have enough money I would make sure everyone knew how all the kids there were abused and beaten daily and that every single person who had a hand in it would rot in prison. That orphanage was a health hazard do you think I was going to let any children live there so they can freeze in the cold, pass out during summer, or live in filth as I did?"

Yinglun felt unable to say anything. She didn’t think that I was that kind of orphanage since Yishang was a donor there.

Still determined to make Atlas look bad she said:

"Yishang was a donor there and so were all her friends, there’s no way it was as bad as you say it was."

Atlas pulled out his cellphones and showed her pictures while asking:

"Does this look like a place anyone donated millions to?"

The pictures were beyond shocking.

They were all captured from surveillance cameras and in some pictures they were even kids in cages. Yinglun frowned when she recognized the front of the orphanage.

Sicheng, Shuyuan, and Hailan were shocked by the pictures, they were speechless. Yishang on the other hand became panicked, she and Dawei just boasted about helping the orphanage.

Not wanting Atlas to change his mind about the loan she said:

"Atlas I swear I gave money to the orphanage."

Atlas looked at her.

"I know but all the money went to the director and the staff."

Seeing that Atlas didn’t seem angry at her she relaxed slightly and said:

"If I knew of course I would have denounced them."

When Atlas went to Yishang’s house she knew full well that Atlas had a hard time at the orphanage but she didn’t asks questions because from the outside the orphanage seemed great and she earned respect by sponsoring them.

Atlas said:

"You don’t have to worry I’ll still lend you the money."

Atlas stood up and said looking down:

"I should go I don’t feel well."

Atlas left without waiting for anyone’s words.

Sicheng stood up and ran after him seeing how fast he was walking. Just before he opened the door he held his wrist but Atlas pulled back his hand.

Sicheng was stunned by his reaction and felt a pit in his stomach.

"Atlas stay for dinner."

Atlas had his head down and he murmured:

"I’m not hungry."

Atlas turned around but Sicheng held his wrist again.

Atlas jerked his hand back like even the thought of Sicheng touching him disgusted him. Sicheng felt a fear he never did before but he couldn’t explain why. He said:

"Please don’t hate me."

Atlas looked up and looked into his eyes. When he saw the fear and anguish in his father’s eyes he couldn’t retain himself anymore and his eyes moistened.

He asked incredulously:

"You love her that much more than me that just the thought of me being angry at you scares you that much? You’re that desperate to keep her alive with my kidney?"

Sicheng knows that if Atlas is upset with him he won’t agree to give the kidney and his precious wife will die. It’s the only reason he’s running after him, he’ll never care about him more than Yinglun.

From the beginning, he kept telling himself that he doesn’t care but he does. How can he not? Sicheng has been more of a father to him those past few weeks than his father has ever been in his 18 years of life.

Sicheng looked at Atlas wide-eyed, he knows. Has he known all along? He took a step forward imploring:

"Atlas..."

Atlas took a step backward, the resentment in his eyes broke Sicheng’s heart. He said:

"I swear I wasn’t going to go through with it I only invited you to dinner because I love you and I want to spend time with you."

Atlas looked at him incensed. He yelled:

"You’re a liar, you’re just like everyone else you just want to use me."

When Sicheng saw the tears running down his face he wanted to reach but he stopped himself and said:

"I know I approached you for the wrong reason but I swear I gave up on all of this a long time ago because I didn’t want to lose you. please believe me."

Atlas smiled darkly. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂

"No wonder you love mother, you’re just as terrible as her father."

Atlas turned around and slammed the door behind him. Before Sicheng could swallow what happened Shuyuan left in a hurry.

Sicheng took a few breaths and sat on the floor, his legs were like jelly they couldn’t carry him anymore. Did Atlas just say, mother? Is that why he was a perfect match for Yinglun? More importantly, did he call him father?

No Yinglun wouldn’t have his child and put him in an orphanage without telling him. Sicheng stood up and took a few deep breaths. Hailan walked toward him and pulled him somewhere private so they can talk without being interrupted.
