Boom!

A punch landed on Kent’s chest, sending him slamming into the ground like a meteor. His body crashed into the earth, creating a massive crater.

Blood sprayed from his mouth, and his body was covered in cuts that healed at an astonishing speed.

Kent stood up and launched himself back into the air, just as Kaizo exchanged blows with the Bat, who remained unscathed, not a single cut or injury visible.

"The saying ’cut your coat according to your size’ is indeed true," Kent smiled, spitting out blood. "But the saying ’never give up’ is also something worth taking to heart."

He closed in and unleashed a series of rapid slashes, aiming to draw just a single drop of blood from the Bat. That would be enough.

"Thunderclap!" Kaizo clapped his hands together, sending a shockwave through the air. "This wingless bat is troublesome, Master."

"I know, right? For a wingless, spineless bat, why can’t we do anything to it?" Kent said. The two burst into resounding laughter despite their battered state.

They could have used telepathy to communicate, but Kent wanted to keep infuriating the Bat, hoping to push him into making a mistake.

That would be the moment the Bat would realise a mere brat was not to be trifled with.

"I don’t eat bat, but I know someone who does," Kaizo said, blocking a spear aimed at Kent by stepping in front of him.

Kent moved from behind him and activated the [True Despair Sword Strike], landing a powerful attack filled with despair on the Bat, who simply defended against it.

However, the despair in that attack affected him slightly.

"Is this bat-eater someone worth befriending?" Kent asked. He dodged back, evading three blood spears, but one grazed his arm.

"He’s an idiot, but then again, giving him the body of a stupid bat might make him very happy. It could even earn us his help the next time we need it," Kaizo replied.

He launched himself into the air, dashing forward with his right leg aimed at the Bat’s chest.

Kent slashed his sword, unleashing 450 sword arcs that rained down on the Bat. They are doing their best but their opponent is just too monstrous.

"I guess killing him is the only way," Kent muttered.

"Just die, bugs!" the Evil Bat snarled, clearly irritated by their banter.

He unleashed a new attack, creating multiple circles in the air. From these circles, larger bats with crimson wings emerged, swooping down to attack Kent and his annoying undead.

[Keep him occupied, Kaizo. Three of the dolls will help you. Let me and the two dolls handle the bats.]

Kaizo didn’t need to hear Kent’s voice in his head to know what had to be done. They each moved into position, and the battle escalated into a more intense phase, with Kent and Kaizo sustaining injuries.

Even the dolls were taking damage, but Kent refused to back down. Not when he was determined to use the Bat as an example.

Five miles from the battlefield, Sword King Shawn, Pill Saint Barton, and the Wicked Poison Witch watched the unfolding chaos.

"Should this even be possible?" Pill Saint Barton asked, his voice tinged with disbelief. Watching Kent repeatedly rise and re-enter a fight he knew deep down he couldn’t win left Barton at a loss for words.

"I’m as shocked as you are, Barton, but the reality is right before us. The kid is telling everyone he fears no one, and no matter the odds, he won’t back down from a fight," Sword King Shawn said, a smile spreading across his face.

"I’ve only seen this kind of determination once before, about 60 years ago, when I witnessed a certain lady from the Divine Palace Sect fight against odds far beyond her capabilities,"

The Wicked Poison Witch added a tone that was both nostalgic and impressive.

"Too bad she died early. If she were alive, I know deep in my heart she would be a Sovereign by now." The lady she was talking about was Mara’s big sister, Nara who was now locked in a cage, acting as a battery.

"But this brat is something else. I mean, I wouldn’t be able to remain that calm against Evil Bat," Sword King Shawn said, his voice filled with disbelief.

The other two shared his sentiment, their expressions mirroring his astonishment.

"I guess it’s a good thing I didn’t pursue the issue with my disciple any longer," the Wicked Poison Witch said, clenching her fist.

She still harboured intentions of killing Kent, but watching this battle unfold was beginning to shift her perspective.

"Brilliant swordsman," Sword King Shawn muttered under his breath.

Far from their location, four women were also observing the fight with calm expressions. One was the Auction Master, and another was Alina, who stood beside her.

The Kingdom Protector and her disciple, Yami, were also watching the battle, their expressions shifting between shock and awe.

"So, do you still think you can dominate the Sect Competitions, Yami?" Lady Lani asked with a faint smile.

Yami, who had been confident about dominating the competition, clenched her fist.

"I have to admit, he is indeed capable and brave. But my skills are not to be taken lightly. In a one-on-one duel, I will win," she declared, her voice firm despite the doubt creeping into her mind.

Her master just chuckled.

"Kids, I want you to watch the next 30 seconds closely. If I am not mistaken, the kid is after something, and the next 30 seconds will determine whether the battle will end or not."

All four ladies focused their attention on the battle. Alina was panicking inwardly, but she had to keep reporting to her sisters, who, instead of relaxing inside the tower, were now in a state of panic. Enjoy exclusive content from freewebnovel

Back on the battlefield...

Kent, who had gotten back up from the ground after being slammed for the umpteenth time, spat out blood.

"Kaizo, do you fear death?" Kent asked.

"That’s the thing, Master. I am already dead," Kaizo replied, flashing a smile at his master. Kent also smiled

"Then why don’t we tempt death? I would like to see how it looks," Kent said, glancing at the watch on his wrist, which had a green circle on it.

"30 seconds."

"The master should indeed die once to know how it feels," Kaizo said, his laughter growing wild as lightning descended from above and bathed him in its radiance.

"Tempest Overdrive!" His voice boomed.

His eyes were now red, and his body was covered in red lightning. The berserk skill in his arsenal had been activated, making him four times stronger and faster.

"Let’s do it, buddy!"

Kaizo moved at a speed that caught the bat off guard. "Eat my fist!" This time, he was so fast that his fist landed on the bat’s chest, sending it flying back.

Kent, who was already in position, moved...

"Chrono Watch: Fast Forward!"

His body moved at a speed that nearly caused him to lose consciousness. He was already at his top speed, so adding 2.5X to it was just too much.

The Chrono watch he received from one of his quests took effect, and the result was him streaking through the air like a comet.

But he controlled the flight as his sword slashed forward. It landed on the evil bat’s face, and a small cut appeared.

"Die, brat!" Kent, who had succeeded in drawing blood, felt the world spin around him as his body smashed into the ground.

The bat moved, but before it could reach Kent’s broken body, a thunderous slap landed on its face.

"Hehe, slapping bats is indeed awesome," Kaizo said. He wasn’t about to let the bat get close to his master who had gotten what he wanted.

The bat became furious...
