Chapter 1637: The Four Abominations (3)

Ixeron first studied Soulmaw with a narrowed expression, both confused and intrigued.

He had not had much interaction with beasts, so he was taken aback to see someone trapped within their own mind. Soulmaw was bound by four thick chains, each exuding a terrifying power, one that Ixeron recognised all too well.

Before he became Kent’s Forbidden Beast companion, he also had a seal with the same energy signature planted in his mind. It was through that seal that all of them had received the command from the dark lich to kill Kent.

Now, that same power had bound Soulmaw, and from the look of things, he would soon die.

"First of all, how did you end up in this situation?" Ixeron asked, but then a better question popped into his mind. "More importantly, how are you sane when you are clearly an Abomination Beast? From what I heard, abominations are an insane bunch."

"You did not hear wrong. We abominations are indeed a rowdy bunch. However, I am different."

"How different?"

"I managed to become aware of my true nature, you know, the state I was in before that madman turned me into this. I regained my sanity, and thanks to that, I managed to grow beyond anything he had ever dreamed I could become.

However, after regaining my sanity, I sought freedom. So, like you, I tried to break the seal, but as you can see, I failed. Now, I will die, and that madman will revive me, permanently turning me into an insane puppet."

Ixeron nodded, perfectly understanding Soulmaw’s situation. He could see the unwillingness in Soulmaw’s eyes, a sigh that this beast doesn’t want to become insane.

"I commend you for regaining your sanity. However, I am not the one who broke the seal. It was my Young Lord."

"Young Lord?" Soulmaw furrowed his brow, hearing such a title for the first time.

"My Young Lord is a monarch, and he has a way of breaking seals. Aside from that, he also awakened our innate bodies and bloodlines. As you can see, I am much different from the Forbidden Beasts you once knew." 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎

"Indeed. But I have to ask, did that madman not try to kill you before this Young Lord broke the seal?"

Ixeron shook his head.

"No. I do not know the intensity of the seal placed upon us, but mine was not strong enough for him to take control of my mind the way he did yours. Perhaps he never anticipated that a day like this would come, a day when someone would dare take his creations away from him."

"Interesting. I never knew we could be freed this way."

Soulmaw was stunned, though he tried to hide it. But he saw a glimmer of hope, even if he only sought death at this point.

"Do you perhaps think I can meet this Young Lord you spoke of? Looking at you now, I can tell you are far superior to the Forbidden Beasts and even me. I would not mind pledging my loyalty to him."

Ixeron smiled.

"Trust me, you would fare far better with him than with that madman. However, since you called me here, I assume you wanted me to kill you."

"Yes. If you can sever the Tormented Chains, killing me would free me from becoming a puppet of my creator."

"Very well. I will kill you as a final act of mercy to a fellow Mind Cultivator."

"Thank you, friend."

Soulmaw exhaled and closed his eyes. For an abomination to actually manage to fight against its nature and even attempt to free itself, Ixeron found him worthy of receiving a merciful death.

Ixeron extended his hand as the [Silent Crown] appeared before him. He placed it on his head, and the eye on the crown snapped open, revealing the weaknesses within the four chains.

The moment he spotted the weak points, he summoned the [Abyssal Mind Spears] and sent them lunging toward the flaws in the chains.

A second later, the spears struck, and the chains, which would not have budged even under an assault from a God Ascension Stage cultivator, snapped and shattered into countless pieces.

Somewhere far away, Grand Dark Lich Barnabas felt something pierce his soul, causing his body to tremble.

Directing his attention toward the source, he saw the chains binding one of his perfect Abominations shatter and disperse into smoke.

His furious scream of anguish filled the entire planet he was staying on.

Meanwhile, Ixeron, who had only been sent to kill the abominations, directed a mental skill called [Desolation Mind], using it to pierce Soulmaw’s forehead, killing him instantly.

It was quick and painless.

On the outside, Ixeron sighed and muttered, "Rest well, friend."

"I am afraid Soulmaw’s journey had not even begun yet."

Tower appeared beside Ixeron, licking a flat-shaped lollipop and wearing a pirate hat.

Tower extended her hand, and a similar lollipop flew toward Ixeron, who caught it with a stunned expression.

"You’ve earned it. Treating an enemy that mercifully shows you are not the bloodthirsty kind."

After hearing Tower’s compliment, Ixeron smiled and bowed toward her.

"Thank you, Young miss. I suppose the Young Lord sent you."

"Yes."

Tower produced the same type of green fruit she had given to Nexorphis.

"Squeeze the juice into his mouth or nose."

Soon, they were away from the dungeon, appearing beside Nexorphis and the cocoon containing Fatebreaker.

A second later, Crimson also appeared, his body littered with several cuts, though a smile could still be seen on his face.

"What a monster you were, Skullrender."

Crimson had fought a brave battle, but in the end, he had played dirty and won. Even so, he commended himself for surviving against such an opponent.

"Looks like you had it rough, Crimson," Nexorphis teased while standing atop a brown stone.

Turning toward her, Crimson saw that she was completely clean and looked even more graceful than before.

Crimson sighed.

"Not everyone can bend reality as they see fit, so don’t compare yourself to me."

Nexorphis giggled.

"I suppose there is a reason I am number one. None of you can measure up to me."

"That is why none of us even tried to. However, from where I stand, you are basically a cheat manifested as a Beast," Crimson said with a chuckle, recalling how ridiculous Nexorphis’s abilities had sounded when they discussed their powers a few days ago.

"The ability to bend reality and fight in the past, present, and future... who can defend against such an ability?"

Ixeron smiled, and as calm and quiet as he was, he patted Crimson on the shoulder.

"It would be best if you did not think too much about how monstrous she is and instead focus on improving yourself.

I can hypnotise you so you can focus more on yourself and forget about others."

"That will not be necessary, Ixeron. I have only just tapped into Absolute Sword Energy. Once I learn to wield it together with my Sword Intent, Aura, and Domain, we will see if she can keep running her mouth."

"I like the spirit, Crimson, but don’t bite off more than you can chew."

Just as Nexorphis was about to let out another one of her classic giggles, Kaldrex appeared with his body completely covered in thousands of cuts and burn marks, even more than Crimson.

The three moved toward him, and Crimson supported his body before he could fall.

"What happened, buddy?" Ixeron asked.

The green cocoon beside him showed that Kaldrex had succeeded in defeating his opponent.

However, looking at his injuries, one could only wonder what exactly had happened when he faced off against his opponent.

Kent appeared beside Kaldrex and handed him a yellow fruit.

"Eat this, Kaldrex."

Kaldrex accepted the fruit and ate it in one bite. A second later, yellow energy washed through and over his body, healing his injuries at a terrifying speed.

In less than a minute, he had recovered enough to speak.

He turned and looked at Kent.

"Young Lord, that abomination was a plague..."

His body trembled as he started to narrate what had happened when he arrived in the Plague Kingdom.
