Chapter 90: A certified Maniac

"Lady Dresh...she is in trouble."

"...Say what?"

Emperal blinked, his expression twisting into a confused one. After all, Dresh...she was a Stage Three Verth Seeker for god’s sake.

Aside from the cultivators of her level or some unknown entities in the forest...there was basically no one who could threaten her.

Sera once again sighed when she saw Emperal’s expression, "I know it’s hard to believe, but it’s the truth. Though her life isn’t in danger. It certainly isn’t going peacefully."

"I see," Emperal nodded, but he didn’t say much.

"Also..."

Suddenly, Sera spoke up, surprising Emperal.

"She told me to find you and let you contact her as soon as possible."

"Yes, I am far more desperate to meet her. Do you know her location?"

Emperal asked curiously, but a second later, his brows rose.

"Mhm."

Sera sighed, clutching her head.

"What happened? I noticed it during your fight, you were...exhausted?"

Emperal said, earning a nod from Sera.

"Let’s go to a better place, I will show you something pretty...interesting." Saying that, she walked deeper into the forest.

"..."

Emperal conveniently ignored her choice of words and followed behind her, after all, burning the body of Araak.

...

"This..."

In a small cave, two figures could be seen sitting on the edges. Eating meat coupled with some huge fruits.

While talking, Sera waved her hand. A small piece of dark green vine materialized in her palms.

"This...is the thing I obtained when I battled and killed a large vine a few days ago."

Emperal looked over curiously, "What is this?"

"...I do not know, but this thing sucks my Verth at a terrifying rate. That was the main reason for my state in that battle. Or else I would have ended those disgusting leeches the moment they decided to follow me."

Sera huffed, her barely hidden breasts jiggling, defying the laws of physics.

"It really is mysterious."

Emperal muttered, but his eyes were, of course, not on the piece.

Sera’s brow twitched; she covered her breasts in a snap.

"They don’t talk."

Her words brought Emperal back to his senses. For a second, he looked around... confused. But the moment Sera’s words registered in his mind, his expression changed drastically!

Without hesitation, he unsheathed the Stormvein sword and...drove it straight inside his heart!

SPLASH!!!

"T-THIS! This crazy brat!!"

The ’Sera’ who was sitting there, her face shifted.

Looking at Emperal’s bloodied lips, she couldn’t help but ask.

"...How?"

Hearing this, Emperal smirked.

"There is no way in hell I would be entranced by those... average-looking melons. You forgot I have seen the world’s finest pair heaven had to offer."

The moment his words ended, the reality around him seemed to crack and shatter. He just stood there, blood trickling down his lips.

Hearing his words, Sera looked stunned for a moment.

"Pff!!! Grandfather was indeed right, you are no ordinary."

She spoke, her smile slowly widening by the second. At the end, it was a disgustingly huge grin.

"I have decided! I will make you mine."

She spoke, a crazy glint flashing in her eyes as the reality around her started to crack and shatter at a breathtaking speed.

Emperal didn’t speak; he just stared at her coldly.

"You wish."

He snorted in disdain, just in time for a...

BOOM!!

The world cracked, and darkness enveloped him.

...

The spot where Emperal had previously battled the vine was a few miles away from that battle. A...body lay down motionlessly.

Twitch.

The body’s pinkie twitched.

Twitch.

Next, it was the legs.

Twitch.

Snap!!

"FUCK!!"

Emperal’s eyes snapped open, his entire body drenched in sweat. His pupils dilated wildly as an intense headache spread through his body.

"Arrgh shit! My head hurts—Blargh!"

Puke!

Emperal threw up...his head was spinning.

"Emperal! Y-You are awake!"

Suddenly, the Infernal Dragon’s panicked voice echoed in his head. Giving him a moment of lapse.

His puking finally stopped as he wiped his mouth and shifted his position.

He tried to stand up...but it was useless. The corner of his eyes was darkening as fresh veins of rage snapped on his forehead.

"That...fucking bitch. Why... just why am I the one caught with those crazy, psychopathic maniacs!"

He hissed through the gaps of his teeth and slowly walked towards a tree. Clutching it lightly, his back kissed its bark as Emperal’s body slid down.

"...I know you are angry, but calm down. Think through this first."

Once again, the Infernal Dragon spoke in an attempt to calm Emperal down. But...Emperal was far too deep in rage to even care.

"That woman, why did she attack me when we hadn’t even met in the first place? And what the hell did she say? Her grandfather wants her to befriend me? Hah! What a joke."

Emperal clutched his head, as the intense headache threatened to return.

"..."

Infernal Dragon was speechless when he saw this. This was the first time he had seen Emperal so out of his emotions, though he didn’t know what he had seen in that illusion he was put into.

The experience was certainly terrible...

"Emperal, there is no Soleine here, nor that destructive woman."

After a second, the Infernal Dragon spoke. The moment the words, Soleine and Vraelyn, registered in his mind.

A ray of light flashed in his head. Emperal took several deep breaths. The veins on his forehead slowly vanished in his thick skull.

"Man, being weak sucks."

Emperal spat it out, though he had calmed down. There was still a vengeful side...that was becoming more and more thirsty.

"First, it was the damn Seraveth and now...this woman, who I didn’t even know existed till recently? What is with the sudden influx crazy bitches?"

"...Sit down and start absorbing Soul Energy from the environment. I’ll slowly explain to you the details of what had happened."

The Infernal Dragon spoke calmly, prompting Emperal to nod his head.

"You are right."

Sitting cross-legged, he closed his eyes and began to sense the Soul Energy in the mysterious realm of EverHeart.

And given his sensitivity to it, it wasn’t long before he traced it.

"Mhm, not bad. Although it isn’t as pure as the one I get from the Consciousness Mirror. It is more than sufficient, right?"

Emperal spoke inwardly, the more Soul Energy he absorbed, the more his headache subsided. And finally, after two full hours, he calmly opened his eyes.

"Go on, tell me what happened."
