Chapter 340: Zoroark vs Molly (Two-in-One)

Rio looked up in surprise. He hadn’t expected that after beating Lance, she’d want to fight him next. This is interesting. Little girl, you’re really overestimating yourself.

Outside the castle, Lance also laughed when he heard Molly wanted to fight Rio. He knew Rio’s strength well — Rio was nothing like him. He wouldn’t be afraid of any Entei. In Sinnoh, Rio had defeated the Hunter Organization’s legendary Pokémon — Darkrai, Galarian Articuno, and Regirock. He wouldn’t fear Molly’s Entei.

"What are you laughing at?" Molly asked, confused by Lance’s smile after his defeat.

"I’m laughing at your arrogance." Lance sneered. "I admit I lost to you, but I don’t think you’re qualified to fight our current Champion, Rio. His strength is far beyond what you imagine — worlds apart from mine. Even commanding Entei, you’ll suffer a crushing defeat."

Molly frowned. "That’s impossible. Even if I can’t beat him, there’s no way I’ll lose badly."

"Then wait and see. You’ll learn what true strength is from him." Lance scoffed.

Molly, angered by Lance’s dismissive attitude, said: "Daddy, I think our castle needs one more servant to take care of our family. I think he’s perfect."

"If Molly thinks he’s suitable, then let him be our servant."

The exchange reached Lance’s ears, and his expression froze. "What are you doing?! I’m one of Kanto’s Elite Four, the heir of the Dragon Clan!" Lance stepped back.

But Entei leaped forward and landed before him. "Servant. You are our family’s servant!" Entei’s gaze locked onto Lance, using Hypnosis. Lance, who had been resisting, slowly grew dazed.

"Servant... I am Miss Molly’s, the Master’s, and the Mistress’s servant." Lance replied numbly.

"Good. You are the servant." Entei nodded with satisfaction, turned, and walked back to Molly. Lance obediently followed behind.

This scene was broadcast live by the drones. "My Lance... when he wakes up, he’s going to be furious." Rio sighed and shook his head.

The public was in an uproar. A small Green Town had taken down two of Kanto’s Elite Four — one became someone’s mother, the other someone’s servant. What was going on? Now they wanted the Kanto Champion to step up. If he lost too, Kanto would be a laughingstock.

Public attention turned to the League’s response. Serīna, receiving the news, immediately went to find Rio — or rather, Zoroark impersonating Rio. Zoroark was strutting around the estate, enjoying the authority. All the servants obeyed it.

When Serīna relayed Lance’s fate and Molly’s challenge, Zoroark pulled her close and said seriously: "If she wants a fight, she’ll get one. Woman, that little girl is mine. I’ll give the people a satisfactory answer."

Hearing Rio’s response, Serīna blushed, nodded shyly, and hurried off. As soon as she left, Greninja gave Zoroark a side-eye. "Koga~" — You’re going to fight at Green Town? And who will be your Pokémon?

"You." Zoroark said matter-of-factly.

"Koga~" — No! Why would I help you? My task is only to supervise you.

Zoroark’s fox eyes gleamed slyly. "Because I think you need this battle."

"Koga~" — I need it? How would I know?

"Think about it — this incident has shaken Johto and Kanto. Everyone’s watching. Whoever beats that little girl will win the public’s adoration. Right now, the public only knows Charizard, Munchlax, Annihilape, Red Gyarados, and Mewtwo — Charizard is the most famous. They don’t know much about you."

"But if you fight with me tomorrow and win, think how much your fame will skyrocket. You could become Rio’s most famous Pokémon — known everywhere, with toys sold in every shop. And wouldn’t Eevee love you even more, sharing your glory?"

Zoroark spoke persuasively, and Greninja felt a stir. It wasn’t the most famous of Rio’s Pokémon, and it did want to be. Zoroark continued: "If you don’t want to, I’ll ask Munchlax. That chubby one can be bought with food. With my authority, I can get it all the food it wants. But since I think you’re cooler, I offered you the chance first. If you don’t want it, fine."

With that, Zoroark turned to leave. Greninja grabbed it. "Koga~" — Fine. I’ll fight for you tomorrow.

"That’s more like it." Zoroark smiled slyly.

The next morning, Zoroark and Greninja flew to Green Town in a League helicopter, arriving near noon. Zoroark faced the media cameras and declared that it would lead Greninja to victory, rescue Lance and Lorelei, and restore the public’s faith in the League.

The speech drew applause — but also a frown from someone watching from the shadows.

"What’s Zoroark doing? I should be the one deciding who fights," Rio muttered. He had expected Zoroark to show up, but not to decide on Greninja without consulting him. What did it mean — it wanted to command the battle itself?

Rio had Mewtwo telepathically call Zoroark over. Soon, Zoroark and Greninja approached him.

"You’re taking Greninja to fight Molly?" Rio asked.

"Why not? Didn’t you tell me to play your role?" Zoroark replied matter-of-factly. "I’m Rio now. So taking Greninja to accept Molly’s challenge is fine, right?"

Rio paused. That was... technically true. He had agreed.

"But can you handle it? Don’t embarrass me if you lose." Rio said.

"What’s so hard about it? Are you underestimating me, or Greninja? Even without my commands, Greninja couldn’t lose to an Entei." Zoroark said.

Rio was speechless again. That wasn’t wrong either. Greninja’s base level was 85 without Bond Evolution — plus Xerneas’s Geomancy. He couldn’t imagine it losing.

"Forget it. Go fight the girl." Rio waved them off.

"Got it!" Zoroark grinned and left with Greninja.

Just then, Entei’s roar echoed from Green Town — followed by a telepathic message to everyone outside: "Where is Rio? Didn’t he accept Molly’s challenge? Come! Molly is ready!"

Zoroark looked back at Rio. "We’re going."

"Go, go." Rio waved again, then turned to Mewtwo. "Get ready to slip into the castle and capture the Unown."

In his view, Entei wouldn’t beat Greninja. Once it fell, this farce would end — and he’d appear from the shadows to capture the Unown.

Ten minutes later, Zoroark and Greninja arrived at the castle — at the same battlefield where Lance had fought Molly the night before. Molly saw Zoroark approach and spoke first:

"Rio, Daddy and I watched your matches before. You’re really strong. I really like your Charizard — because it can use Sacred Fire, just like Daddy. It’s the only Charizard in the world that can."

Greninja, standing behind Zoroark, felt a bit annoyed.

"Charizard? You might not believe this, but my strongest Pokémon right now is Greninja." Zoroark, in Rio’s form, crossed its arms and stood by Greninja. Greninja puffed out its chest.

But Molly didn’t believe it. "No way — you’re lying! Your strongest is Charizard. I’ve seen its matches. You just don’t want to send it out because you’re afraid Daddy will beat it, and the public will see who truly wields Sacred Fire best."

"Let Charizard fight! I’ll show it what real Sacred Fire looks like." Entei gathered purple flames in its mouth.

Zoroark frowned. Molly wasn’t listening. Charizard wasn’t even here!

But it played along: "If you insist on fighting Charizard, then beat Greninja first. If you win, I’ll send out Charizard."

"Fine. It’s a deal!" Molly agreed. "Daddy, let’s beat this Greninja in three moves, like yesterday."

"Of course, Molly." Entei stepped onto the battlefield, eyeing Greninja. "Come, little Greninja."

Greninja, annoyed at being dismissed, leaped onto the field. "Koga~" — You’ll regret that.

"Daddy, Fire Blast!" Molly commanded first.

Entei gathered flames and spat a large character. Zoroark watched silently — Greninja had said it would only follow Rio’s commands, not anyone else’s. So it would fight on its own.

Greninja, facing the Fire Blast, formed hand seals and spat a Water Pulse. Fire and water clashed, creating scorching steam.

"Daddy, Flame Wheel!" Molly shouted.

Entei erupted in flames, curled into a fiery ball, and charged through the steam. Greninja threw Water Shurikens while using Double Team — splitting into multiple copies to dodge Flame Wheel. By the time the steam cleared, the field was covered in tiny Water Shurikens.

Molly was shocked. Her father hadn’t landed a hit.

"Daddy, Sacred Fire!" Molly commanded.

Entei gathered purple flames. Greninja didn’t react — no counter move — until the Sacred Fire was about to hit. Then it vanished.

Molly frantically searched. Greninja reappeared behind Entei, Water Shuriken in hand, and slashed it hard. Entei was sent flying.

"Daddy!" Molly cried out.

"Molly, I’m fine." Entei struggled to stand, glaring at Greninja. "I admit I underestimated you. Now I’ll get serious."

"Koga~" — Even serious, you’re no match for me — you can’t handle even 30% of my power.

Greninja sneered, then vanished again. Entei spun around — but Greninja wasn’t there. "Koga~" — I’m here.

Entei turned — just in time to see Greninja’s Water Shuriken already swinging. It was struck again.
