Alex's group ventured deeper into the Desert Ruins, and it wasn't long before they encountered a Flygon.

A high-level Elite Flygon spotted Alex from a distance and watched him intently as it hovered silently in the air.

The Flygon had positioned itself carefully to the side of Alex's group, remaining outside their direct line of sight unless someone intentionally looked in that exact direction.

Because of the fine sand constantly swirling through the desert air, spotting a Flygon in this environment was far more difficult than normal. The desert wind distorted visibility, and the creature's body naturally blended into the yellow-brown surroundings surprisingly well.

A normal Trainer would probably never have noticed it.

However, Alex had already known about this particular Flygon for quite some time because Gardevoir had sensed its life force earlier.

Even now, Alex pretended not to notice the Pokémon and continued moving forward calmly on Luxray's back. His expression didn't change at all, but internally, he was carefully analyzing the situation.

He asked telepathically, "Gardevoir, now that this Pokémon is closer, can you tell me more precisely how strong it is?"

Gardevoir focused her Psychic powers for a brief moment before replying, "It appears to be at a level similar to mine."

Hearing such a precise answer, Alex felt very satisfied.

He glanced toward another one of his Pokémon before calmly saying, "Crobat, can you fly over to that Pokémon and confirm whether that flying creature really is a Flygon? If it truly is a Flygon, and if it has any connection to the mutated Flygon, please inform it that we have a deal with the Horned Desert King and bringing him here."

After a short pause, he continued in a more serious tone, "Also, be careful. Do not engage it in battle alone if it suddenly becomes aggressive."

Although Crobat would normally stand a very good chance of defeating a wild Pokémon of the same level, even without Alex's direct support, victory was still far from being completely guaranteed.

Wild Pokémon could sometimes be unexpectedly dangerous.

Crobat gave Alex a brief look before remarking, "You really are becoming more and more of a coward these days. I remember very clearly how, during our first few trips into the wilderness, we both took all kinds of ridiculous risks without thinking too much about it."

Alex gave a faint smile when he heard that and replied, "Oh? You conveniently forgot to mention that we nearly died several times during those early days. And even back then, I was always an extremely cautious Trainer compared to most people."

He then added calmly, "You can call it cowardly if you want, but there's a very good reason why we're both still alive today."

Crobat quickly realized that his words had touched a deeper nerve with Alex than he had originally intended, so he immediately tried to lighten the mood. he said. "Why are you taking this so seriously? It was only a joke. Don't be so sensitive."

Without waiting for another reply, he immediately flew off in the direction of the Flygon, which he could easily track through the desert using his echolocation abilities.

Alex silently watched as Crobat flew away into the desert sky before softly muttering to himself, "Why should I be offended? They all treat me like I'm made of glass."

His voice was extremely quiet, almost impossible for a normal person to hear.

However, Luxray possessed exceptionally sharp hearing, and since Alex was currently sitting directly on his back, he heard every single word clearly.

Luxray flinched slightly the moment he heard those words, though aside from that small reaction, he barely moved at all.

Alex, with his heightened perception and awareness of his Pokémon's emotions, noticed the reaction immediately and understood what Luxray had heard him.

A faint smile appeared on his face. He gently placed one hand on Luxray's head and slowly stroked his fur as he calmly said, "Don't worry, kid. Everything's fine."

Luxray remained silent for a few moments and simply allowed Alex to stroke his head without resisting. Although he didn't say anything aloud, his tense posture relaxed slightly afterward.

Meanwhile, Crobat didn't take very long to return to the group.

Only a short time later, Alex spotted him flying back, accompanied by another Flygon that maintained a cautious distance from Crobat while following him.

The moment Alex saw the Flygon approaching, he immediately focused his attention on it and checked its information without hesitation.

He glanced at the information for a brief moment and found nothing particularly remarkable about this Flygon.

A "Gold" potential was nothing surprising for a Pokémon of this level. In fact, for a wild Pokémon that had already reached such a high level, it was even slightly below average.

Usually, only very old wild Pokémon managed to reach these levels with such potential because it simply took an enormous amount of time to become that strong without the support of a Trainer.

The Flygon eventually came to a halt when it was approximately thirty meters away from Alex's group, clearly maintaining a cautious distance.

Alex looked at the Pokémon and loudly said, "I am the human who made a deal with the female Flygon. I wanted to ask if you have any connection to the Horned Desert King."

The Flygon narrowed its eyes suspiciously as it carefully observed Alex and all of his Pokémon before finally replying, "I belong to the Horned Desert King's pack. But can you prove that you really are the human who was supposed to arrive today?" (Gardevoir translates)

Alex immediately showed a slightly surprised expression and gave the Flygon a strange look after hearing such a question.

He couldn't help but think to himself, 'What kind of stupid question is that? How many humans with Late Elite-level Pokémons would show up specifically today, in this exact desert, and actually know about the deal?'

After a brief pause, another thought appeared in his mind. '...How has such a stupid Pokémon managed to survive for so long?'
