Chapter 1505: Chapter 1501: The Reward Fallen from the Sky

BOOM!!!

Cain felt a gigantic explosion erupt behind his back, and he was right at the center of it. Had it not been for Darkrai raising a defense behind him, even the shockwave alone would have been enough to kill him.

With no time to worry about the pain in his body or to observe his surroundings, Cain immediately got up from the ground and randomly threw two Poké Balls, summoning Tyranitar and Aggron as guards, before looking toward Darkrai behind him.

After all, that had been a furious combined attack from Dialga and Palkia, and both had used their ultimate moves.

The last time those two legendary Pokémon used their ultimate attacks, Marcus’s Houndoom and Tony’s Alakazam had not even managed to withstand a single blow.

Theoretically speaking, even a Darkrai whose power had increased enormously should not have been able to block the attacks of those two gods.

When Cain saw Darkrai’s condition, his expression darkened, though his heart relaxed a little. It was nothing else: Darkrai had only fallen unconscious; his life was not in danger.

As an Advanced-level breeder, Cain had a keen eye, and with a single glance he could determine Darkrai’s approximate condition.

Even so, the fact that he had managed to withstand the full-power attack of two legendary Pokémon left Cain quite astonished.

When he crouched down and took a large number of healing medicines and other special recovery items from his pocket, he discovered that Darkrai was tightly holding something in his hand.

Cain raised an eyebrow and covered his hand with psychic energy before daring to remove the object Darkrai was gripping.

It was Giratina’s Reverse Scale, the one Marcus cherished so much. However, at that moment it no longer emitted that overwhelming pressure from before; even the aura it gave off was countless times weaker than earlier.

Then Cain looked at the barrier behind him. After losing the Reverse Scale of Giratina that had been attached to it, the barrier had already fully restored itself. The only difference was that before Cain had been outside the barrier, and now he was inside it.

The barrier that he had shattered with a single punch once again displayed silvery ripples of energy. What had happened outside, Cain did not know.

But he had no time to worry about that. The fact that Dialga and Palkia had not entered meant that, at least for now, he was safe.

As he focused on healing Darkrai’s injuries, Cain discovered that they were far lighter than he had imagined.

Before Dialga’s and Palkia’s attacks reached Darkrai, he had already removed Giratina’s Reverse Scale from the barrier, causing it to quickly regain its original function.

Because of that, part of Dialga’s Roar of Time and Palkia’s Spacial Rend struck the barrier directly.

Energy from the same source further accelerated the barrier’s recovery, and only the remaining portion was what Darkrai had to withstand.

"Darkaaii!" Under Cain’s treatment, Darkrai quickly woke up.

Once awake, and with his active cooperation, the speed of recovery increased considerably.

When his condition had mostly recovered, Cain finally had time to observe the surroundings.

Although he had only just begun to examine them, in reality he had already noticed some things out of the corner of his eye while treating Darkrai, and had mentally prepared himself.

Even so, when he clearly saw the environment, he could not help but be stunned.

According to logic, at that moment he should have been at the top of the mountain, and the space inside the barrier should not have been larger than the summit itself. However, the scene before his eyes was completely different from what he had imagined.

There were no scattered rocks nor a barren plain. Instead, enormous trees towered everywhere. Cain and his Pokémon were inside a thicket, crushed by their arrival.

This did not look like the mountain’s summit at all; it was more like a tropical rainforest.

Although it was completely different from what he had imagined, sensorially it was much better than expected—at least it was not a devastated place.

Cain did not forget that he was still holding Giratina’s Reverse Scale in his hand, whose energy constantly burned against the energy protecting his hand.

Frowning as he looked at the scale, he knew that its value was immense, so great that Marcus would surely feel pain comparable to the loss of his Houndoom.

But Cain had never truly thought of keeping it.

The change in Dialga’s and Palkia’s aura when they saw Giratina’s Reverse Scale had been so obvious that Cain could feel it without even turning around. That was why, at that moment, he never considered storing it away.

If because of that scale he attracted the hatred of Dialga and Palkia, Cain had already imagined in how many different ways he could die.

But human plans do not always align with fate. Darkrai had been forced to use Giratina’s Reverse Scale to withstand the impact of the two gods, and now it had ended up in Cain’s hands.

Fortunately, after entering the barrier, Dialga and Palkia did not follow him.

That was an unexpected gain.

"If these gifts from the sky could arrive more often, even better if they knock me unconscious," Cain murmured while looking at the scale in his hand.

Upon hearing this, Darkrai, lying on the ground, could not help but roll his eyes.

How many Reverse Scales could Giratina have?

Each time one was torn off, it meant enormous and irreversible damage. Even if Giratina, unlike other Dragon-type Pokémon, could recover part of that damage, the price to pay would be inconceivable for Cain.

Not even Darkrai, who had lived for so many years, had ever seen a Reverse Scale of Giratina. It was very likely that this was the first one that had ever been torn off.

"Darkaaii!" Darkrai let out a soft sound, still somewhat weak, but with an already stable aura.

Hearing this, Cain came back to his senses, snapping out of his excitement over the "reward fallen from the sky."
