Chapter 530: Chapter 530: He Is All Alone
The car was moving along the road.
Julian Lawson stared at the street view retreating behind him.
He felt somewhat confused.
In the past, he always knew what he should do, with clear and defined goals.
But now, he felt a little lost.
The scene where Serena Sterling told him to find someone new kept replaying in his mind.
Is he really supposed to find someone new?
But he was unwilling, and he had no real desire.
For so many years, the only person by his side was her, and his relationship with Vera Hansen was just an act.
He never thought about, if it wasn’t her by his side, who would it be?
He was Julian Lawson, in all of Aeston, countless people wanted to be near him, and many were willing to change for him.
If anyone said he actually had no other choice, they would be ridiculed.
But, in reality, that was the truth.
His mind felt empty.
There were no other options.
She was his only option.
The car drove forward into the night, yet he seemed to remain in place the whole time.
Jude Chaucer, who was driving, occasionally glanced at Julian Lawson through the rearview mirror, hesitating to speak.
After a long time, Jude Chaucer finally found something to say.
Jude Chaucer said, "Miss Sheridan has finally woken up, that’s wonderful."
Julian Lawson nodded, responding with a simple ’mm’.
Then he fell silent again.
Jude Chaucer wanted to say something, but couldn’t find another topic, so he merely continued driving, remaining speechless.
"Jude." After a long pause, Julian Lawson spoke from the back seat, asking, "How’s your love life been all these years?"
Jude Chaucer hadn’t expected Julian Lawson to suddenly ask about him.
After thinking for a moment, he said, "It’s alright."
Feeling he might have been a bit perfunctory, Jude Chaucer explained, "Mr. Lawson, I’m just an ordinary person, and what you provide me is already exceptionally good among ordinary people."
"There are many people who want to work for The Lawson Corporation, but not everyone can."
Jude Chaucer thought and said earnestly, "Being by Mr. Lawson’s side, for many, is an unattainable dream."
"In Aeston, whether it’s professional status or salary, I’m already among the best ordinary people, and my girlfriend understands my work well. When I get home after work, it’s basically a loving home with a wife and kids... well, I don’t have kids yet."
Saying this, Jude Chaucer chuckled in embarrassment.
There were other things he dared not say.
Like how he would take advantage of Julian Lawson’s resources.
For example, when dating his girlfriend, he would use Julian Lawson’s name to book top positions.
Much of what was prepared for Julian Lawson were things he and his girlfriend liked, waiting for Julian Lawson to casually give them to him when he was in a bad mood, then he could bring them home, and so on.
As well as gifts from others, Julian Lawson would casually give them to him when he didn’t want them.
And when Julian Lawson didn’t feel like eating, Jude Chaucer would order dishes he liked, even if they’re expensive, allowing him to eat double the portion!
Of course, he knew that if he told Julian Lawson about this, Julian would not think much of it and might even increase his salary or give bonuses, assuming his family situation was tough.
But he enjoyed it immensely.
Thinking about it, Jude Chaucer was quietly pleased.
"Recently, I took a vacation and had a great time with her nearby; she was so happy." Jude Chaucer said, "We met each other’s parents, I bought a wedding house a few years ago, and we plan to get married in a couple of years."
Saying this, Jude Chaucer glanced at Julian Lawson in the rearview mirror, suddenly realizing what he was talking about, and then shut his mouth.
Oops, boasting about his happiness in front of the boss who just got dumped...
But Julian Lawson wasn’t thinking that much.
He was simply watching the street scene outside.
Is this what ordinary life is like?
A loving home with wife and kids...
Julian Lawson lowered his gaze slightly.
He actually did want that.
Just...
The car continued moving forward and soon reached the destination.
With Jude Chaucer’s help, Julian Lawson got out of the car and sat in a wheelchair.
"Get ready for tomorrow, transfer what I planned for Seraphina to her name." Julian Lawson instructed.
Jude Chaucer was slightly taken aback, asking, "Will Miss Seraphina accept it?"
"She will." Julian Lawson replied.
Jude Chaucer nodded and promised to handle it immediately.
"Wait." Julian Lawson suddenly called out.
"Mr. Lawson?" Jude Chaucer immediately turned around.
Julian Lawson took out a check and handed it to Jude Chaucer.
"What is this?" Jude Chaucer asked, puzzled.
"Consider it your romance bonus." Julian Lawson calmly stated, "Congratulations on your stable relationship with your girlfriend, a loving home with a wife and kids."
Jude Chaucer looked at the numbers on the check, hardly believing his ears.
He stood there dumbfounded.
When he finally reacted, he saw Julian Lawson controlling his wheelchair alone, entering the elevator.
Julian Lawson was by himself.
"Thank you, Mr. Lawson!" Jude Chaucer quickly said.
Julian Lawson nodded inside the elevator, then the doors closed, carrying Julian Lawson upward.
Jude Chaucer left, and Julian Lawson returned to his apartment alone.
After that woman barged in, he deliberately changed the security system.
Now, he could confirm that he was alone here.
He turned on all the lights inside, watching the flow of vehicles below.
The whole house, only him.
...
#Serena Sterling has woken up#
This topic was tightly pinned at the top of the trending searches.
The commotion in Aeston that afternoon finally had its cause revealed.
Silas Hawthorne never announced it publicly, but it was undeniable.
After all, she was in the hospital, with so many medical staff, reporters watching, and it was on the anniversary day, so after some commotion, this news exploded.
The gossiping netizens were all stirred up, discussing eagerly.
"Oh my god, has Serena Sterling really woken up? Could it just be rumors?"
"Someone who’s been lying down for a year suddenly wakes up again?"
"Has anyone confirmed this? Seen it with their own eyes?"
"Of course not, Serena Sterling would never allow filming, it’s just hearsay."
"So is it true or not?"
"I think it’s true, because for so many big figures to drop everything, it can only be because Serena Sterling woke up; there’s no other reason!"
"Ask Jasper Ford and the others, wasn’t Jasper Ford supposed to be a big mouth? He’s Serena Sterling’s loyal dog, he would definitely share the information!"
"Go, go!"
...
Thus, Jasper Ford, having dinner, was suddenly surrounded, with countless reporters encircling the group who had just finished eating, chattering away, demanding an answer.
