Chapter 104: Mission Successful

The Inferno Sect had just discovered this treasure trove about a week ago. A few miners had said that they were unable to dug past a certain point, and wondered if there was something valuable underneath.

So, they sold this information to the Inferno Sect. The elders immediately dispatched disciples to go confirm, and the results were anything but disappointing.

Swiftly, they sent tons of disciples and some elders over to the place to start the mining process.

To their surprise, the pace was unbearably slow, but they didn’t mind. Today, they had finally been able to break the outer shell, and they could access the spirit crystals inside.

The disciple who picked up the first crystal shivered, feeling his meridians inhale spiritual energy deeply.

Instantly, he experienced a jump in cultivation, and he was brought from the Core Beginner Stage to the Peak Beginner Stage in an instant.

"So magical?!"

He cried out in surprise, a trace of greed flashing in his eyes. However, he didn’t dare to.

The collection process began immediately. There were three large crates placed on the ground, and they were quickly filled with the diamond spirit crystals.

"Wow. Three crates."

An Inner Court disciples gasped as they carried the crystal crates and counted it.

"How many?" Another disciple walked over, his tone authoritative.

Everyone immediately straightened and one of them answered him.

"1097, Senior Brother."

"Good." The disciple, Cartel, said, then swept everything into a golden storage ring in his hand. He didn’t dare wear it, as it belonged to the elder supervising the mining.

"Good job. You all will be rewarded when we return to the sect."

Saying that, he turned around and headed for the Sect Elder’s tent.

Two other disciples flanked him, and they treated the storage ring like a literal treasure it was. Just as they passed by the road, someone ran into him, causing the ring to fall to the ground.

He immediately picked it up and glared at the disciple.

The frightened guy immediately fell to his knees and kowtowed.

"Forgive me, Senior Brother! Please, forgive me!"

Cartel glared at him, then walked away with a scoff.

"I don’t know why those uncultured bastards are allowed into the sect these days." One of the two standing behind Cartel spoke in displeasure.

"Yeah, yeah. The guts to hit Senior Brother and go scot free." The other added, sneering.

Cartel ignored them both since he knew they were only trying to flatter him.

Instead, his mind was focused on delivering the ring to its rightful owner.

When he arrived at the tent and was about to knock, his face couldn’t help but darken at the moaning sounds and lustful words coming from inside.

If there was an elder he detested, then it was definitely this man. Despite being old enough to be a grandfather, the man never took a wife and only continued to play with female disciples while promising them cultivation techniques and resources.

It was disgusting, but no one corrected him since the girls weren’t forced.

Suppressing his repulsion, he raised his hand and knocked.

"Elder Han, I’ve brought the ring."

The moaning sounds stopped, then Cartel heard the rustling of clothes, followed by a simple: "Come in."

He groaned inwardly and stepped inside the tent. "Greetings to you, Elder."

He cupped his fist and bowed. However, when he raised his head, his expression darkened.

Elder Han wasn’t dressed at all, merely sitting upright with his lower body covered by the sheets. And under the sheets, Carcel could see a head moving up and down at the man’s groin, with wet, muffled sounds reaching his ears.

’Damned elder.’

"Well, the ring?" Elder Han asked, stretching a hand forward.

"Here, sir."

He stepped closer and handed the gold ring to him. The man frowned. "Why is it stained?"

Cartel immediately explained. "Some idiot bumped into me and it fell to the ground. My apologies."

He feared that the man might suddenly decide to punish him right there.

Unexpectedly, the man smiled and said. "It’s alright. Dirt cannot compare to what is inside this thing."

Still smiling, he brought out a piece of the ring’s content with his spiritual energy. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞

Instantly, the whole room was filled with a foul stench. Elder Han’s expression became rotten, looking at the literal piece of shit in his hand.

"Tell me, Cartel..." His voice lowered into a growl, then he roared. "WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO?!"

...............

Outside, as soon as Seraph apologized to Cartel and watched him walk away, he got up from his knees and rushed to find a very pretty female disciple.

Soon, he found one who was simply chatting with her friends.

Holding a golden ring in his hand, he walked up to her with a bright smile.

"Dear disciple," He said, drawing the girl’s attention. "I saw you from afar, and I’m sure I’ve fallen in love, in lust, and in devotion, for you."

The girl gasped, mesmerized by his handsomeness and unique rainbow eyes.

"May I know your name?" He inquired.

"Mila..." She replied instinctively, surprising her friends. Wasn’t she the girl who said she wasn’t interested in any guy until she turned 20?

"Mila..." Seraph repeated the name with sift fondness, then knelt before her. "I specially made this ring for you. If you accept it, that means you’re giving me a chance. Will you be willing, to give me a chance?"

By now, many disciples were attracted to the confession scene.

Mila blushed heavily, then stretched out her hand.

Seraph smiled and inserted the ring into her ring finger.

Rising with a smile, he pulled her close and kissed her forehead.

Then he stepped back like a gentleman. "Duty calls now, but I will come see you when the stars appear to worship your beauty. The moon shall grace our meeting, Mila."

Smiling, he stepped back and disappeared into the crowd. The girl stood frozen, blushing and looking at the ring on her finger in a daze.

Meanwhile, Seraph fled from the camp as fast as he could, discarding the stolen Inferno Sect robes he had worn.

"Done and dusted."

He said with a low whistle, signalling for his mates to come out. When they did, he presented a golden storage ring with over a thousand diamond spirit crystals in it.
