Chapter 2306: Chapter 655: Unspeakable Love (Part 3)

"Why are you so absent-minded?"

"Nothing, I’m fine. Maybe I didn’t sleep well last night, feeling a bit out of it." Zhang Yufeng patted her cheek, forced a smile, "Miss, you’ll be a bride in two months, don’t run around during this time, stay home and keep the old man company. If there’s anything you truly need, leave it to us to handle."

After An Yiqing confirmed again and again she was okay, she smiled and said, "Alright. You don’t look great, go back and rest."

Leaving the small villa, Zhang Yufeng stood by the car door and sighed in relief. She turned her head to look at the villa. By the window on the first floor, An Yiqing, dressed in a white dress, was smiling brightly at her. Upon seeing her gaze, the young girl immediately waved her hand, silently telling her to stay safe.

Smiling and nodding, Zhang Yufeng got into the car and drove out of the villa area.

The July sunshine was irritatingly hot, the road, trees, and crowds were all wilting under it. Zhang Yufeng gripped the steering wheel, aimlessly wandering on the road. She suddenly felt a bit lost, not knowing where she should go.

After hesitating for a long time, she suddenly turned the wheel sharply, heading towards the city center.

In the center of Xuandu City, the Xuanjin Yulong Headquarters Building towered into the clouds. A white Audi drove slowly into the underground parking lot, and a girl wearing a black T-shirt and pants got out of the car. She was tall, her features not as soft as other girls. Her slightly elongated almond eyes were filled with sharpness and calm, her high nose under which were thin lips, always tightly pursed. Her brows long and elegant, arching into the temples, bearing a touch of heroism and a slight melancholy between them. As she walked, her short hair gently fell to her forehead, adding a touch of casual charm.

She was the kind of girl who could make all women gasp, her perseverance and strength not losing to any man.

Zhang Yufeng walked straight into the elevator, pressing the button for the top floor. The elevator soon reached the top, and she walked out, politely greeting the receptionist before entering the general manager’s office.

"Huh? How come you have time to come today?" Zhang Yuksheng, who was looking over documents, raised his head at the sound of the door opening, eyebrows raised in surprise upon seeing his younger sister.

"Bored, just came to see." Zhang Yufeng casually walked to the sofa and sat down, resting her chin on the armrest with one hand, "You do your work, don’t mind me."

Zhang Yuksheng frowned, sensing something was off about his sister’s mood. He quickly finished perusing the documents in his hand, stood up, and sat down next to Zhang Yufeng.

"What’s wrong? Don’t lie to me; you can’t fool me anyhow. Seriously, what’s going on?"

Zhang Yufeng, who was about to fabricate a lie to fob off her brother, couldn’t help but bitterly laugh. Indeed, since she was born, her brother had been caring for her in ways even her biological parents didn’t understand her as well.

With a sigh, Zhang Yufeng irritably tapped her phone screen, "Brother, Miss and General Gu’s wedding is only two months away."

Zhang Yuksheng fell silent, not knowing how to console his sister on this matter. In this world, everything can be bought with money, but sentiment and life cannot be changed no matter the cost.

Xiao Feng liked Miss, had liked her for a long time. He knew but couldn’t change it.

The office was quiet, the sound of Zhang Yufeng unlocking and locking her phone repeating over and over. On her phone’s lock screen was a photo of her and An Yiqing. That time, her body had just recovered, and she was undergoing rehab. Whenever An Yiqing had time, she would come to the neighborhood to accompany her downstairs for a walk, and this photo was taken by them by chance.

Zhang Yufeng still remembers how she hobbled with a cane, the girl in the white dress walking beside her, her eyes bending into a smile as she wiped sweat from her forehead. The warm sunshine scattered across the girl’s body, such beauty was a dream Zhang Yufeng would never forget in her lifetime.

She never expected to fall for An Yiqing, but she did. She couldn’t control it. She had never thought of expressing it, understanding that An Yiqing’s happiness was not something she could provide, this she was very clear about.

However, rational as she was, truly watching the girl put on a wedding dress for a man, emotionally it still hurt Zhang Yufeng.

Seeing his younger sister, Zhang Yuksheng sighed and pulled her into his arms.

"Silly girl, if you want to cry, just cry."

The room gradually filled with the sound of soft sobs, which soon turned into wailing cries. Zhang Yufeng, the only woman among the Thirteen Blood Generals, with a strong will, would not cry even when nearing death. However, in this world, only two things could make her shed tears — An Yiqing’s death, and... that lifelong unspoken sentiment.
