Chapter 1187: Chapter 1189: The Only One He Ever Wanted Was the Maniac

He patted her spine and said in a low voice, "I’ll talk to your Uncle about our marriage tomorrow, hmm?"

Marriage?

He was being a bit too impatient, wasn’t he!

"No, I’m not ready yet."

"Do the women in your family all dislike marriage or something?" Thomas Shannon’s voice faintly picked up a trace of anger.

Sophie Sullivan raised her eyelids in surprise. "What did you say?"

Thomas Shannon’s eye color turned deep, and his voice stiffly skipped over the topic. "Nothing."

Sophie Sullivan had heard it. He said the women in your family. Her family...

He thought she was Isabel, so the women in Isabel’s family he spoke of, did he mean her, Cecilia Branford?

The doorbell rang, and Thomas Shannon got up to open the door. Standing in the doorway was William Guillen.

After his hangover, he had been sleeping until now.

Seeing the man in black still in the corridor, he guessed he definitely hadn’t left yet. "Thomas, move aside, I’ve got something to say to you."

"Whatever you’ve got to say, say it here." Thomas Shannon blocked the doorway, not planning to let him in.

William Guillen raised a hand to his forehead, his head aching badly. "Can’t we go inside and sit while we talk?"

"What is it? Say it." Thomas Shannon lifted an eyebrow, signaling him not to waste time and to hurry up and talk.

Blatantly disliked like this, William Guillen immediately became even more curious about the person inside his room.

"Thomas, who’s inside?"

Thomas Shannon shot him a disdainful glance. "Your wine still hasn’t worn off?"

William Guillen was kindly thinking for his sake, yet in return he got such blatant disdain. He shook his head in disappointment. "Thomas, do you even know what you’re doing right now?"

Treating an imposter like a Baby and cherishing her—does he still want to be with the maniac or not?

If the maniac were just an ordinary person, that would be one thing. He could use a bit of power and get her. But is the maniac an ordinary person?

Is she someone who can be coerced and tempted?

Once he takes this step out, it’ll be hard as hell to pull it back. Is he really going to keep making mistake after mistake?

Thomas Shannon hooked up the corner of the mouth. "Just mind yourself. I know what I’m doing."

"You know and you’re still doing this?" William Guillen looked past him with a flare of anger. "Tell me, did that woman feed you some kind of love potion? Do you even know who she is?"

"I know."

"You know and you still..." William Guillen lifted a finger to scold him, but seeing how righteous he looked, he was so furious he couldn’t get a single word out for a long moment.

Even his heart, liver, and lungs started to ache.

Finally, he pressed a hand to his forehead, the hangover making his head feel like it was about to explode.

He sucked in a cold breath and stepped back two steps. "Fine, I can’t be bothered with you. Just don’t come crying like you’re half dead at that time."

With that, William Guillen turned and left.

Thomas Shannon signaled Charlie River to follow, and Charlie River nodded in understanding.

Stepping into the elevator, Charlie River spoke to William Guillen beside him. "Young Master Guillen, you can rest easy. The Young Master knows his limits. The things you’re worried about won’t happen."

"What do you mean, won’t happen?"

Charlie River gave a mysterious smile. "The one the Young Master wants has been the maniac from beginning to end."

William Guillen was almost stupefied. What did this sentence mean? Could it be that the woman he saw in the Casino before wasn’t an imposter?

She was actually the real maniac?

The more he thought, the more his head hurt, so William Guillen simply stopped thinking about it. Leaving the Golden Wing Palace, he told the driver to head back to the Coopers’ Estate.

"Young Master, you’re back."

Just as he got out of the car, a servant came up to greet him.

William Guillen gave a slight nod and was about to head straight indoor without looking sideways, when the servant followed behind him and said in a small voice, "Young Master Guillen, Miss Zane is here."
