Chapter 92: This One Is For You
ORION’S POV
The air inside the building is cold and damp, smelling of old stone and wood. I walk quickly, my leather boots clicking loudly against the polished marble floor until I reach the secluded service corridor near the back exit.
I stop, my eyes locking onto the floor.
Just as Alexis said, there are three small, dark drops of blood staining the white marble right near the edge of the heavy wooden door frame. I lean down, extending a single gloved finger to touch the liquid.
It’s still warm.
The sight of his blood sends a violent wave of rage through my veins—a roaring fury that threatens to consume the last of my sanity.
They made him bleed.
They laid their dirty, pathetic hands on his skin, and they dragged him out through the dirt like an animal.
I stand up slowly, my fists clenching so hard the leather groans under the strain. The manic energy inside my chest turns into a physical need for violence, a burning desire to tear every single person apart until I can see his hateful eyes again.
He’s supposed to be mine.
He’s supposed to be sitting on the main terrace, looking at me with those beautiful, hateful eyes while I plan how to take everything from him. He’s not supposed to be in the hands of a coward like Leon.
My mind spirals into a dark, suffocating rage at the thought of Leon Vassilis. That weak, desperate parasite believes he can play at being a mastermind.

The sheer audacity of Leon taking what belongs to me makes my skin burn with unadulterated rage. Yet, even as the anger threatens to blind me, a cold, calculating thread of reality tugs at my thoughts.
Leon might be sitting in the back of that fleeing car, clutching my prize with his cowardly hands—or he might be hiding in some dark corner of the city, using a hired crew as bait while he runs in the opposite direction.
It doesn’t matter.
Either way, Leon is a dead man. If he’s in that sedan, I will rip him out of the wreckage myself. If he’s not, I will burn down every structure carrying the Vassilis name until I drag him out of his rat hole.
No matter where he hides, there is no corner of this earth wide enough to shield him from my reach.
I pull my phone from my pocket, dialing Niko’s number. The line rings twice before his voice fills my ear, accompanied by the loud, deafening roar of a strained engine in the background.
"Orion," Niko says quickly, his breath coming in short, harsh ragged gasps. "I’m on them, but they’re moving faster than expected. They are flying west on the old highway, heading toward the docks near the river. The sedan is riding low, likely carrying three or four people including the target."
"Why aren’t you on top of them yet, Niko?" I demand, my voice dropping into a deadly, flat murmur.
"They have a professional at the wheel, Orion," Niko growls, the heavy sound of an engine revving wildly as he shifts gears. "The driver knows these back roads. They’re taking dangerous, erratic lines, cutting through the dark without lights, and using the winding turns along the river ridge to break my momentum. My car is struggling to bridge the gap on these narrow stretches. Every time I gain on their bumper, they swerve aggressively across the lanes to block me out."
"I don’t care about their driver, and I don’t care about the roads, Niko," I command, my tone devoid of any human warmth. "Don’t let them reach the docks. If they get him onto a boat, if they get him out of the city..."
I’ll never see him again.
The thought hits me like a physical blow, a suffocating tightness in my throat. I can’t lose Adrien. I refuse to exist in a world where he is stripped from my sight, stolen away into the dark by men who will never understand his worth.
"Stop the car by any means necessary," I snap into the mic. "Ram them, shoot the tires, destroy the engine. I don’t care if the vehicle flips and rolls into the ditch. Just make sure that he’s breathing when I arrive."
"Understood. I’m pushing my engine to its absolute limit. I’ll intercept them before the river turn," Niko responds instantly, the line going dead before I can say another word.
I drop the phone back into my pocket and run toward the main gates of the estate, my long strides eating up the distance as I burst through the front doors into the cool night air.
The grand driveway is filled with the expensive cars of the guests, but right at the front, idling loudly like a beast waiting to be unleashed, is my dark SUV.
Alexis is already in the driver’s seat, the engine revving violently as he watches me approach. He reaches over and pushes the passenger door open, his face set in a grim line.

I jump into the seat, slamming the heavy door shut behind me before the vehicle even comes to a complete standstill.
Alexis slams his foot down on the accelerator, the tires shrieking against the gravel as the heavy car launches forward, tearing through the main gates and out onto the pitch-black road leading toward the highway.
Distantly, a part of me wonders if this is what Niko meant when he boasted about teaching Alexis how to drive.
I reach into the glove compartment, pulling out the heavy black handgun that rests inside. I check the magazine with a quick, practiced slide of the metal, the sharp click echoing clearly through the quiet cabin of the car.
The weight of the weapon is a grounding comfort in my hand, a promise of the ruin I’m about to deliver to anyone who stands between me and my duckling.
"How far ahead are they?" I ask, my eyes fixed on the dark stretch of road ahead, our headlights cutting through the rising mist like two white knives.
"Niko is still struggling to close the final stretch," Alexis replies, his knuckles white as he grips the steering wheel with focus, weaving the heavy SUV through the light traffic on the road.
"The driver in that sedan is suicidal. They’re taking corners at impossible speeds. Niko is trying to pull up alongside them to force a turn, but the road is too narrow. If he hits them hard enough to stop them at that speed, the crash will be severe."
"Let it be severe," I mutter, a slow, dark smile creeping onto my lips as I stare blindly into the blackness. "Adrien is strong. He’s survived his father, he survived ten years under my shadow, and he will survive a car crash. He is far too stubborn to die in a ditch before I have the chance to fully conquer him."
Even as the speedometer climbs higher and the engine screams under the strain, a cold knot of anxiety tightens in my stomach.
Niko is fighting a losing battle against the distance, and the sedan is slipping further away with every second that passes. But I refuse to accept it. I choose to believe—with a fierce certainty—that we will catch them.
Alexis will push this vehicle beyond its limits, Niko will smash their car into pieces, and I will be there to drag Adrien from the rubble. The universe would never dare to take him from me now.
The thought of him lying in the dark right now—scared, confused, and bleeding—makes the itch in my brain hurt.
I want to see the look on Leon’s face if he is indeed in that car when I pull him from the wreckage. I want to see the sheer terror in his dull eyes when he realizes that no amount of planning could save him from me.
And if he isn’t in the car, if he sent his men to do his dirty work while he watched from safety, I will take my time dismantling every single thing he loves until he surrenders himself to my mercy.
He thought he could steal a piece of my soul and walk away unscathed? He shouldn’t have given in to his delusions.
We hit the main highway, the engine roaring as Alexis pushes the car to its maximum capacity. The wind howls violently against the glass, a chaotic, wild sound that perfectly matches the storm tearing through my mind.

I look down at my gloved hand, at the small trace of Adrien’s blood that has already dried into the dark leather.
It is a tiny, terrible reminder of the fragility I despise so much. I don’t want him to be fragile. I don’t want him to be a helpless thing that can be stolen or broken by lesser men.
I want him to be mine—absolute, untouchable, and locked away where only my hands can ever mark his skin, where no one can ever reach out and tear him from my side again.
"Niko just sent another update," Alexis says suddenly, his voice sharp with tension as he glances down at the blinking navigation screen on the dashboard. "He’s managed to close the gap. He’s right on their bumper now, preparing to force them off the road near the old turnoff. Orion, we are less than two minutes away."
"Faster, Alexis," I say softly, my voice dropping to a dangerous whisper as my fingers tighten around the grip of the gun until my knuckles ache. "Drive faster. I want to hear the sound of the metal crushing when we arrive."
The car surges forward, the headlights illuminating the long, empty stretch of the highway as we hurtle toward the quarry.
The darkness outside is thick and heavy, a vast, swallowing void that seems to absorb the violent sound of our approach. But beneath the roaring engine and the howl of the wind, I can feel the distance closing. I can feel the sharp, electric pull of his presence somewhere out there in the dark.
He’s waiting for me.
Even if he is cursing my name with his last breath, even if he is praying for anyone else in the world to save him, his mind is filled with my existence.
He knows that I’ll come. He knows that I’ll tear through heaven and hell to find him, because he is the only thing in this beautiful, corrupt world that makes my heart beat with real purpose.
Up ahead, the headlights catch a sudden flash of red light in the distance—the brake lights of Niko’s vehicle swerving violently across the lanes as he finally moves in for the strike.
Finally.
