Chapter 114: Chapter 114 Ice Breaking

Right in front of them stood a massive hall. The hall itself was so large that it could easily accommodate thousands of people at once.

However, what truly captured everyone’s attention was the enormous dungeon portal located at the very center.

Unlike normal dungeon portals, which were blue, or dangerous dungeons marked in yellow and red for dungeon break, this portal emitted a beautiful green.

Surrounding the giant portal were numerous smaller portals of the same green color. They were distributed across four different levels of the hall, connected by stairways and elevated walkways.

At the same time, many academy staff members could be seen moving around busily.

Groups of senior students were also gathering before various portals, carrying equipment and supplies as they prepared to enter. The entire place was bustling with activity.

"Everyone, this is the Dungeon Deep Mind. The one and only in our kingdom."

Mika said proudly while observing the stunned expressions of the first-year students. Even after working here for more than a decade, she never grew tired of witnessing this exact reaction.

Every student who came here for the first time always showed the same expression of shock and disbelief.

"This place is the greatest treasure of our academy. It is also one of the reasons why the Royal Academy of Cyden remains the most prestigious academy in the kingdom."

The students listened attentively, unable to take their eyes off the magnificent sight before them. Even Oliver was completely fascinated.

Mika pointed toward the giant green portal at the center of the hall.

"This place is where our genius predecessors created a connection between countless dungeons that can all be accessed from here. Right now, Dungeon Deep Mind contains a total of 4,475 linked dungeons as of today, ranging from Rank 1 all the way to Rank 15. And every year, our academy continues to add more."

"FOUR THOUSAND?!" many students exclaimed simultaneously. The entire group was shocked.

That number was comparable to the total number of dungeons found throughout an entire duchy. To think that a single academy could possess access to such an enormous collection of dungeons was beyond their imagination.

Seeing their reactions, Mika smiled proudly.

"This will become your primary training area for the next four years. All of you will tame monsters here, explore dungeons, and work together to defeat powerful enemies."

"You will also receive practical lessons on how to deal with different situations, monsters, and dungeon environments. In short, this place is the greatest treasure trove a tamer could ever ask for."

The students’ eyes immediately lit up. For tamers, dungeons were more than just places filled with danger. They were opportunities to grow stronger, obtain rare monsters and to gain wealth and experience.

Many students were already imagining themselves conquering powerful dungeons in the future.

Meanwhile, Oliver’s heart began beating faster.

Unlike all of the students around him, he possessed the Overlord System. To him, a place containing thousands of dungeons was not merely a treasure trove.

It was a paradise.

A paradise filled with boss monsters waiting to be discovered and tamed.

Gulp!

Oliver instinctively swallowed his saliva. He was barely able to contain the excitement building inside his heart.

Soon, the students were allowed to disperse and observe how the Dungeon Deep Mind operated. All of them immediately scattered in every direction.

As Oliver explored, he discovered that the smaller portals surrounding the hall were all connected to the giant central portal. By selecting a specific dungeon key, students could be teleported directly to their chosen dungeon.

Oliver was genuinely amazed. The more he learned about it, the more unbelievable it seemed.

’I never thought something like this was even possible.’

The knowledge and ingenuity of the academy’s predecessors were far beyond what he had imagined. Creating a system capable of linking thousands of dungeons together was nothing short of miraculous.

Thirty minutes passed quickly.

Soon, Mika gathered all the students once more.

"Alright everyone! You’ve spent thirty minutes here, so our orientation officially ends here. I wish all of you the best of luck in your studies."

"Now, it is lunchtime. Please eat as much as you can. After that, you will head to the auditorium halls to meet your homeroom teacher. You will regret it if you don’t have enough energy." A strange smile appeared on Mika’s face.

The students immediately exchanged confused glances.

"Why does that sound fishy?" Max whispered.

"I don’t know... but I suddenly don’t feel good about this." Henrik replied.

For some reason, Mika looked far too pleased while saying those words.

After lunch, the students went to the auditorium halls and took their seats while waiting for their homeroom teachers to arrive. The hall was filled with chatter as the first-years discussed the orientation and the incredible Dungeon Deep Mind.

After several minutes, the door opened. A tall man walked into the auditorium with a cape draped over his back. He had black hair, wore a pair of glasses, and carried several thick books under his arm.

Without hesitation, he walked to the front and dropped the books onto the teacher’s table.

Thud!

"Good afternoon, everyone! It is really nice to see all of you looking so excited for your lessons. My name is Isaak Hayward. And I will be your homeroom teacher for this year."

The students immediately quieted down and focused their attention on him.

"Before we begin our lessons, there is something important all of you need to understand. The academic year of this academy is divided into three semesters, each with one month break every semester. And for grading system, this academy uses a Continuous Grading Mark system. What does that mean?"

"It means your final grades will not be determined solely by your final examination. Completing quizzes, assignments, practical exercises, academy tasks, dungeon activities, and various projects will all contribute to your overall score."

"The final examination only accounts for fifty percent of your total marks. The remaining fifty percent comes from your continuous performance throughout the academic year."

"This means that lazy students who only study before examinations will suffer. And diligent students who consistently perform well throughout the year will be rewarded."

"So if you think you can relax for the next few months and only start working hard before the final exams, you are going to have a very unpleasant experience."

Isaak continued his explanation.

"And finally, the passing mark required to advance to the second year is 80."

Many students exchanged glances with one another. An eighty-percent passing requirement was far stricter than they had expected. Some students who had looked relaxed earlier were now beginning to look nervous.

"Alright! Now, how about we get to know each other a little better? It’s time for an ice-breaking session!" Isaak announced enthusiastically.

"So boring..."

Several students immediately showed their displeasure. They thought ice-breaking activities were something meant for children, not future Master tamers. Isaak merely smiled.

"I knew that would be your reaction. So let’s make it a little more interesting." A mischievous grin appeared on his face.

Click!

Isaak snapped his fingers. Immediately, the entire auditorium was engulfed in darkness.

"W-What happened?!"

Several students cried out in surprise.

Oliver instinctively became alert. The next moment, he discovered that he was no longer sitting in his chair. Instead, he was standing on a floating platform suspended in a dark void. The darkness stretched endlessly in every direction.

He quickly looked around. Every other student was also standing on their own separate floating platform.

"What kind of magic is this?" Oliver muttered.

Meanwhile, Isaak’s voice echoed throughout the darkness.

"What is the best way to get to know each other than Royal Rumble!"

A large grin appeared on his face.
