Chapter 736: Chapter 707: Love in a Parallel Universe [029]

As Harrison Rowe finished speaking, he made a gesture of slapping his own mouth.

The fact that Nina Sinclair liked Simon Forrester was known to everyone on the second floor except for the two directors on the third floor who didn’t mingle much with their subordinates. Especially those close to Nina, who privately treated her as the future director’s wife.

Simon Forrester was always strict and couldn’t take a joke, let alone being put at a disadvantage like this. If such a thing were brought to his attention, it would definitely be unforgivable.

This morning, after Sienna caused a scene with security downstairs, it’s likely she discussed this matter with Simon Forrester in the office.

If Simon Forrester thought about it at all, he could easily deduce that Nina’s loose words spread among the designers on the second floor. What started as a rumor became "truth," even the security let her in as the "future director’s wife."

Letting a junior designer’s car into the compound wasn’t a big deal; at most, it would deduct some performance points or result in a reprimand. It really didn’t warrant firing someone.

Harrison felt Simon Forrester wanted to stop this kind of gossip at the source, as Nina didn’t pester him; she merely used the rumors for personal gain and to boost her vanity.

On a regular day, Simon Forrester might not fire someone over this, but the situation was different now. He had a girlfriend and seemed serious about her and wanted to remove all unstable factors.

Harrison understood Simon Forrester’s feelings, but he couldn’t fire someone for no reason, so he tried to help plead for Nina.

"Boss, doesn’t Jane Sinclair still have projects on hand? If you just..."

"If you keep babbling, you’ll leave too!"

Simon Forrester spun his chair around, and Harrison felt his face looked even darker than before.

"Rumors about me are spreading in the firm, and you’re my assistant; you didn’t even handle it? When the security mentioned it, you didn’t clarify? Do you just have a mouth for show?"

Harrison protested: "No... Lawyer Thorne was already there when I arrived in the morning; I didn’t know what the security said, I..."

"Get out!"

"Oh." Harrison nodded slightly to Simon Forrester, "I’ll have legal prepare Jane Sinclair’s termination agreement."

Before leaving, he thoughtfully drew all the curtains for Simon Forrester.

The door closed, and as he was heading downstairs, he was called into Logan Lockwood’s office.

Seeing his conflicted expression, Logan asked, "Why do you look so down? Did your boss chew you out?"

Harrison told Logan everything that happened that morning word for word.

He thought Logan would understand his position and help persuade Simon Forrester, but Logan waved him off, saying, "Before this becomes a bigger issue, let Jane Sinclair go. If she crosses paths with Jules’s girlfriend in the future, you’ll be the one crying!"

"How could they conflict? Director Forrester and Jane Sinclair didn’t even have anything..."

"Haven’t you seen the social news? Don’t leave a ticking time bomb around; get it sorted quickly."

With no other option, Harrison went downstairs to have legal quickly process Nina’s termination. He didn’t want to personally handle this task, so he had Nina’s direct supervisor talk to her.

After delegating the task, he saw Simon Forrester heading to the dormitory to rest and, fearing Nina would come find him to make trouble, he found an excuse to leave, only returning when he anticipated Simon Forrester was awake in the afternoon.

Immediately, he was called into Logan Lockwood’s office again.

"Where were you all day? Jane Sinclair came to ask me why the company wants to fire her." Logan looked exasperated.

"What did you say?"

"I told her to come find you on Monday when you’re in."

Harrison: "..."

That evening, Simon Forrester didn’t dare to work late and left at five to pick up Sienna Thorne from Vantage at five-thirty.

When Sienna left the firm in the morning, she didn’t say anything harsh but didn’t seem happy either. Simon Forrester worried she might overthink, so he planned to behave well over the next few days to dispel her doubts.

He only called Sienna after arriving at Vantage, and Sienna said she still had a little work to finish and needed a moment, so he waited in the car.

The car was parked in Vantage’s courtyard. He was looking over blueprints on a tablet when someone suddenly knocked on the window. Looking up, he saw it was Thomas Reed.

He lowered the car window, eyes returning to the tablet, and asked calmly, "What is it?"

Thomas leaned down, smiling, "What are you doing here?"

"Waiting for someone."

"For whom? At Vantage, besides me, who else could make you wait?"

Simon Forrester: "..."

He closed the tablet, glancing Thomas up and down with indifference, "Don’t flatter yourself unnecessarily." He then rolled up the window and reopened his tablet.

Thomas smiled and got into a black Rolls-Royce Phantom parked in the back. As the car started, his gaze was drawn to a tall, graceful figure. He looked closely and realized it was Sienna Thorne, whom he had personally recruited and mentored for some time half a year ago.

The young woman wore a knee-length black wool coat, matching flat long boots, a red cashmere scarf, and her long hair, with a slight curl at the tips, draped casually behind her.

Her skin was very fair, her soft pink lips curved into a pleasant arc, and her eyes turned into crescents with her smile. She was a pretty and sweet-looking girl with an open and charming personality.

The only daughter of the High Court president, the top graduate of Harvard Law School...

Thomas couldn’t help but stare until Sienna got into the front seat of a black Volvo, snapping him back to reality.

He squinted to see the Volvo’s license plate, his gaze darkening.

.

When Sienna got in the car, Simon Forrester immediately took the briefcase from her arm and placed it in the back seat. He also put the scarf she had just removed back there, then leaned over to hug her lightly, buckled her seatbelt, and started the car.

"Is the project done?" Sienna moved her long hair to one side of her body, "Otherwise, how do you have time to come find me tonight?"

Simon Forrester chuckled, steering the wheel as the car left Vantage.

"The project’s not done, but the weekend still has to pass. We haven’t seen each other for days."

The car merged into the main road, joining the evening rush hour traffic. He freed his right hand, took Sienna’s hand, and gently kissed the back of it.

Sienna blushed and looked at him.

The man looked calmly ahead, focused on driving, but his warm lips touched her skin on the back of her hand.

She flinched at the warmth, but he wouldn’t allow it, enclosing her small hand in his palm and gently rubbing it.

"There’s something I’ve been thinking about, and I feel I should tell you first." He suddenly said.

"Hmm?" She asked softly, surprised, "What is it?"
