Chapter 639: Chapter 639: I Will Be Very Angry

"No, let go of me!"

Iris Yates resisted with every fiber of her being, but her back was to him, both her hands pinned by just one of his. Before her was only the wine bottle with the hidden note. Tears blurred her vision, and she felt a sense of endless despair.

William Quinn kissed her with extreme tenderness. Her clothes fell away, layer by layer, as his kisses landed on every inch of her skin.

Iris Yates’s body began to tremble under his kisses, and her tears fell even faster.

The man leaned in, lapped up her tears, and said with exceptional gentleness, "Baby, don’t do things like this ever again, alright? It makes me really angry, and sad."

Iris Yates felt his scorching body heat. She was trapped between the wine cabinet and his chest, completely unable to break free or escape.

"If there’s a next time, I’ll fuck you to death."

William Quinn spoke the vilest words in the most gentle tone.

Iris Yates’s body trembled even more violently. Tears blurred her vision. She was pressed against the wine cabinet for nearly two hours.

Her legs were so weak she could no longer stand. If he hadn’t been holding her by the waist, she would have slid to the carpet long ago.

Her consciousness faded. Finally, she was picked up and carried out of the room. In her hazy state, she could still feel someone touching her, and she could no longer control her body’s incessant trembling.

...

「Night fell.」

The hospital fell silent, both inside and out.

Dylan Finch entered Walker Grant’s hospital room and said in a low voice, "Mr. Grant, Mr. Quinn replied to the email. Vera Holloway approached him this time, but he didn’t take the job. So, she found another mercenary organization. As for the mysterious person, he doesn’t belong to any organization. He’s very enigmatic. To date, not a single piece of information about him has surfaced."

He paused, searching for the right description. "He just suddenly appeared three years ago, like he materialized out of thin air."

Walker Grant’s world was pitch-black. As he listened to Dylan Finch’s report, his long brows furrowed beneath the bandages. After a moment, he said, "Investigate discreetly. Don’t tip them off. Also, tell Lucas Shaw to stir up some trouble for the Holloway Family."

Dylan Finch was taken aback. "Mr. Grant, you’re going to take on the Holloway Family now? But you haven’t recovered yet."

Walker Grant’s tone was exceptionally cold. "The Holloway Family can’t even discipline their own daughter. I’m just giving them a little reminder. As members of the Holloway Family, once they get involved in business, they’re bound to become thorns in each other’s sides. Let Lucas Shaw handle it as he sees fit."

Dylan Finch nodded. "Yes, sir."

Walker Grant’s tone softened slightly. "What is Chloe doing?"

Dylan Finch faltered for a moment, then shook his head blankly. "I don’t know. I haven’t been to Mrs. Grant’s room."

Walker Grant was silent for a long while before saying, "I have something for you to take care of."

...

Chloe Reed hadn’t left her hospital room. She kept studying her phone, looking for any features that could help her speak.

But after a while, a forlorn look appeared on her face.

She found the characters she had once voiced and listened to them one by one.

Her voice was soft and gentle, and her performances had been full of life. If she had continued down this path, she would surely have had different kinds of wonderful surprises waiting for her.

But now, she was mute.

’How ironic.’

’A voice actor, and I’ve become mute.’

Chloe Reed closed her eyes, her long lashes trembling uncontrollably.
